We are enjoying our last days in India by relaxing on the beach.... Tonight will be our seventh night in Varkala but I don't really have too much to write about, we've just been going to the beach everyday. We are staying in a room along the cliff area; all along the cliff are restaurants, shops and hotels. Most restaurants have seafood stands set up for dinner where you can choose what you want and they will cook it. Last time I wrote we were in Fort Cochin, from there we headed inland to Kumily. The morning we left we were waiting to take this passenger ferry over to the mainland and the dock was pretty busy with locals going over that morning. When the ferry came everyone hustled to get onto the ferry and Aaron went ahead of me but people kept getting in front of me and while the boat was getting further and further from the dock. Well we left Goa on Thursday night by bus for Mangalore where we spent the day before getting another night bus to Cochin. So we are finally in kerala, I’m really glad that we decided to come here. Fort Cochin is so different than further north. It is more relaxed and people are less pushy. We got a guest house where there is lots of other backpackers and we have met some very nice people.......no one from Canada, or the States yet though I don't think many come to India. Hello! Aaron and I left Diu about a week ago and we are now in Goa. From Diu we took a sleeper bus to Bombay (26 hours). we stopped for about 1 hour in Bombay just enough time to get some McDonalds for lunch, and then got on another bus to Goa (16hrs I think). The bus to Goa wasn’t fun because it wasn’t sleeper class, we had just normal seats and there was a guy beside Aaron that kept falling over on him and the Guy behind me kept on touching my head. So Diu turned out to be really really nice! its quiet here (for India anways) and its more relaxed, the rickshaw drivers havn't bugged us and we can walk around without having people following us or trying to get us to come into their store, and the air is cleaner! The days here have kind of blended together i can't even really remember which day we did what but we've rented scooters for cheap and explored the island and gone to the beach lots! After Jaipur Aaron and I went to Udaipur. We both had nasty colds and were pretty worn out so we just relaxed there for a few days. There were some forts and castles and things in the area but we decided to eat, read, swim, and sleep....it was great! We went to go swim in the rooftop pool of a really nice hotel one day, and we did explore the city a bit by foot. There was one really good rooftop restaurant called dream heaven restaruant which was cheap and had good indian food.....I actually like curry now! The streets in [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone! So India is the craziest place I have ever seen. We flew into Delhi at 930 at night, got a prepaid taxi, and then the driver claimed he couldnt find our hotel...yeah right....so then he took us to a fake travel place. (In India only govt travel places can be trusted and they are only usually in airports or train stations). Hello from Laos! sorry its been hard to motivate myself to write especially since the computers here are crap and very slow. but i have found a very good internet place and its really fast! So after Chang Mai we took a bus to Chang khong where we stayed the night before taking a boat down the river to Luang prabang.
