Chapter 3. Surprise - The Big Easy - New Orleans As I mentioned in our last blog we had an early start 5am to be exact! Chapter 1. I’m leaving on a Jet Plane We started our adventure early (6.30am) on Wednesday 4th of February. Picking G-dad and Mim up on the way we headed up to Brisbane International Airport. Yes it's offical Fiko is an Australian Citizen! after attending his citizenship ceremony at the Gold Coast Arts Centre today. We were greeted by the musical sounds of the Blenders (a group of 60 somethings) singing some Australian classics! Then it was time for Fiko to pledge his allegence to the flag (ok so that's the wrong country but it sounds good!) lead by the Mayor Ron Clarke. Yes that's right today is Noah's 1st Birthday! Can you believe it??!! In the traditional way we have managed to spread the festivities over most of the week leading up to Noah's actual Birthday. Starting with a Party in the Park on Sunday 15th. A great time was had by all (well at least I hope there was). Hi All! This month has been VERY EXCITING with Noah taking his first tentative steps! Just out of the blue, he was standing at the door and took 4 little tiny tentative shuffles! Noah is also turning into quite the monkey and loves climbing up onto everything and anyone who gets in the way! He even managed to stand up on one of the dining room chairs and grabing stuff off the dining room table! Nothing is safe any more.....help!!! This Month's Firsts This month Noah... 1. walked ... with the help of his walker or holding onto someone's fingers 2. stood up unassisted 3. flew on a plane 4. drank with a straw 5. rolled a ball 6. clapped his hands Big News Well it's offical! The Morning Show Wowee! What a day we had! It all started very early at 4.30am. Noah was the last into the car in an effort to not disturb his sleep, but as usual Noah had his own plan and was awake when we went into his room to get him. Noah travelled extremely well on the plane only really crying on the decent into Sydney and even fell asleep as we were taxing into the airport! Big News Noah is growing up faster than we can believe this month has seen him progress in leaps and bounds. We thought there wouldn't be very much to report this month, but as usual we were wrong! Noah surprised us all one afternoon, while Mel and Skye were visiting, and let go of me while he was standing up! Yes that's right on the 30th of July Noah stood up by himself!!!!
