Hi Torie - we found Bangalore to be pretty safe, we never really had any major safety issues in India. I'd reccomend she travel with a group and just be aware of her surroundings. We were always together and never had any issues so I cant speak to a female traveling solo. We always traveled 2nd class A/C which was reasonably comfortable. Hope this helps!
my college daughter Hello,
My daughter is traveling to Bangalore this spring for a college exchange. I was admiring your photos. Might I ask..How was the saftey for Americans? I'm somewhat nervous as she is only 19. Thank you in advance for any information you migh have. So enjoyed your photos!
Sincerely
Torie
im jealous your photos of your journeys bring back the sweet memories of when I backpacked the southeast asia circuit in 93. Nice photos and video.

Fun times! Wow Detox sounded like FUN!! You should try to find this cool roof top bar when your there it is on the main road (street market area) and they play really fun music there!
no pictures came through Hi Guys: So interested in your journey. Very disappointing none of your pictures came through. Really enjoy seeing you on fillm. The bucket trip sounds rather nasty. Glad you are enjoying good health. Keep up the good work. love gramma
Happy Easter Hi Guys: where will you be spending Easter. I am doing it this year, as there are so few of us. Think I can handle that. Finallay spring has arrived, so nice to have a bit of heat. I am soooo enjoying your trip, and glad it's you, not me. I don't think a puppy would lilke to travel to all the places you have to go. But that is just my opinion. Glad you are both well and enjoying yourselves. What an education for you both. Be safe, tons of love gramma
FUN!! You two are going to have so much fun in Thailand! Chiang Mai is also amazng. They have huge nights markets each night on the main road that goes on forever! We stayed in a hotel on the main street and the night market was awesome!!
You two are hilarious! I've loved reading this blog, I can't wait to hear about your adventures in se asia as be assured your trials and tribulations are not over yet!! XO A
character building! Hey Kat and Ed! Looks like you guys are having quite the time. I can't believe how much people go to the bathroom in public there, like is there no bathrooms? I would love to see the look on your face Kat for so many of your expereinces, like the pooing field! that would be priceless!

Indiana Ed and the Cobras of Doom Loving the photo of Ed with the snakes.
Not sure who looks more nervous - Ed or the snakeman.
Also - is that a hot water bottle on your head?!
We are taking off for about 6 months for an adventure across India and SE Asia. We wanted to start this blog so our families and friends can see what we're doing and stay in touch! We dont have any hard itineraries - just a few people to catchup with along the way and our lonely planets to guide us. So stay in touch, we'll do our best to do the same and we'll be back in the summer for all of the weddings!
