this was a weekend road trip with my mom. We stayed at the Best Western in crawfordville. A lovely hotel and the perfect place to stay if you want to see the sights in the area. We went to the st. Marks lighthouse and visiter center, San Marcos De Apalache, Wakulla Springs, then headed to the Tallahassee Skate park to watch my grandson skate. From there we went to Tallahassee and checked in to the best western pride on Apalachee. Then we went to see the movie safe harbour near the governer square mall, shopping at the mall, etc. a fun day! I took some pictures of the lodge at wakulla springs and even went up and snapped some pictures of a couple rooms. This looks like a fantastic place to stay or to have an ... read more

Day 8 - Sept 7, 2012 - return home Today is the end of our cruise, sad to say, and its back to Orlando we go. We choose to use the RCI bus transportation (27.00 pp). The debarkation was very easy because they divided up the areas and there was plenty of seating for everyone. They did a good job with this process. In the future I would not use the RCI shuttle because they drop you off pretty far from the terminal. I felt so bad for the elderly guests who choose this transportation. For the price they should have delivered us closer to our airline terminal. It was easier for us to board the bus at the pier because we had a porter who brought us up to the front with our luggage and ... read more

Day 7 - Sept 6, 2012 - Victoria Today was spent in the beautiful city of Victoria British Columbia Canada. We did the hop on- hop off bus through RCI. The bus makes the most popular stops to the most popular sights in Victoria. The ship docks pretty close to town so it is a short walk to the Wharf area. If you would rather take a taxi to town there are plenty to choose from at the port. We spent a total of 6 hours out and about the city and it were not near enough time to do everything we wanted to do. We did one round of the bus loop before we actually got off and explored the town which took almost an hour. It was good to do because it enabled us ... read more

Day 6 - Sept 5, 2012 a day at sea We had breakfast in the Windjammer today. Finally they released the ban on the guests not touching any food related utensils. The breakfast foods were delicious. There was anything you would want there. I even found a new food called Upma. It is served with a spicy chutney type sauce and I absolutely loved it. I heard that earlier on the cruise a couple was sent home because they would not participate in washing their hands or using hand sanitizer. Good for RCI because we didn't need people like that on the ship anyway. My friend and I did the digital camera scavenger hunt today. We ran the length of the ship going up and down the stairs trying to find all the items on the ... read more

Day 5 The Tracy Arm Fjord - Sept 4, 2012 Got up this morning to see our ship go through the Tracy Arm Fjord. Luckily for us the rainy weather held off until we left the glacier. After watching out the sides of the ship and taking many pictures of the glacier, we headed up to our favorite spot on the ship which is the Viking lounge (deck 11). Up there you can sit in very comfortable chairs and have a panoramic view of everything while looking out from the back of the ship. Plus another advantage is you are staying out of the cold. The windows never fog up there, so picture taking was great. As I'm writing this I just saw a whale!! There was a sushi demo at 10:30 in the Centrum which ... read more

Day 4- Monday - Sept 3, 2012 Skagway We docked in Skagway today on day 4. We took the White Pass & Yukon Railroad train ride to the Canadian border. It was a fun trip riding the old train up to the Canadian border and back again. After we got dropped off in Skagway, near the ship, we headed to the town. It's a quaint little historic town. We had lunch at the Bonanza Restaurant and I had a fantastic chocolate martini. It was so good I had to ask the bartender for the recipe. Also found a cute little quilt shop where I bought a pattern for a puffin quilt to make, in the future. The ship docked not too far from town. It's an easy walk or you can board a shuttle bus for ... read more

Day 3 -Sunday - Sept 2, 2012 -Juneau Today was our Juneau port of call. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day in Juneau. We took a tour to the mendahal glacier. The tour was a 3 hour one including transportation, so we didn't have a lot of time there but it was nice to see the glacier. It's amazing at how it has been around for so many years but is gradually receding due to global warming. There was avery informative movie in the visitor center. There was also a high powered telescope where we could see a mountain goat on the side of the mountain. There was also a chunk of the glacier ice there to touch . It was so clear. After gettting back to the town of Juneau we walked to the Capital ... read more

Day 2 - Saturday Sept 1, 2012 A day at sea Our Meet and Mingle group from the Cruise Critic site met at the Viking lounge today. A raffle was done and three prizes were given out. We all received a Royal Caribbean note pad and pen set too. It was fun meeting everyone. We also attended the enrichment lecture given by a man named Peter who is a Canadian Mountie. My little group went seperate ways and then I went to a martini demonstration (initially very unorganized). It was interesting but no handouts were given out and I'm sure I would not remember anything he talked about. There was a charge for this event of 12.00. Tonight was a formal night and the entertainment was the Coasters. They were very good.... read more

We booked our transportation to the pier via the hotel guest services at Best Western. They have contracts with a company who can furnish vans or town cars. We took a large shuttle van and the price pp was 8.00. So for 20 bucks we got to the pier (#91 Smith Cove) from the hotel. Embarkation went very smoothly. We arrived there around 11:30. Since it was too early to board we sat in a large waiting area for about an hour. On the previous cruise before us the ship had an outbreak of something very bad....therefore we would not be allowed to handle anything food related. This created so much chaos in the food area (Windjammer cafe especially). We decided to only dine in the dining room for all our meals. The lines were very ... read more

We arrived in Seattle on Thursday and checked in to the Best Western closest to the Space Needle (200 Taylor St) This hotel is very close to the Space Needle which is why we choose this hotel plus we are reward card holders at this chain. We secured a cab at the hotel and headed to the wharf where we had dinner at Ivar's. The dinner was good (the NW platter which was a fried combination of salmon, cod, shrimp and scallops) my husband's was very good (salmon with roasted blue potatoes). On our next trip though we will pick the restaurant closest to the ferris wheel with the blue umbrella's outside, as the specials there looked great and more reasonably priced. The ferris wheel ride was great. Looking at the city was nice seeing it ... read more
