Hi all! Sorry for such a long delay in FINALLY finishing the rest of my Germany blog!! But here is day 3 of Germany, which was actually last sunday! Britt and I got up bright and early at 7 am to make sure we had enough time to see Dachau and do a few other things before having to leave. We got ready, packed up our things, and headed down to the delicious continental breakfast... It probably in reality was not delicious... but compared to what we have been eating in Italy, we were in heaven! After we ate our combined weight in food, we went back up to the room to grab our bags and put them in the hotel storage so that we wouldn't have to come back at noon to check out. We ... read more

This last weekend Alyssa's mom and dad were in town so Brittni, Alyssa and I went down to Rome since we haven't yet.... Shameful, I know haha. But, I absolutely HATED it. Aside from seeing the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, and all those other tourist attractions.... Rome was horrible. Dirty. Dirty. Dirty. Expensive. Full of tourists. Crime. Ghetto. Brittni were walking from Alyssa's parent's hotel after a day of sightseeing to go check into our hotel. We had to walk about a mile and on the way there we were harassed by almost every man that walked by us. There was a legalizing marijuana demonstration going on next to our hotel where a huge truck was bumping crazy rave techno and cracked out people ... read more

Hello everyone! Sorry about how long these entries are taking me!! But here is the journal from day two in Germany (Saturday). Britt and I woke up at 7:30 am and went to eat the GLORIOUS free continental breakfast that our hotel served. It was probably gross in reality, but to us it was the most delicious feast EVER! haha After breakfast we headed out to the train station (called Hofbahnhof, Munich's central station). Since I have done a lot of research about Schloss (Castle) Neuschwanstein near the little town of Fussen in my 4 years of studying German, I absolutely had to go since we were so close! We hopped on the first train out of Munich to go explore the Bavarian Alps! On the train, we met two girls that are stationed in Germany ... read more

I apologize for not updating in so long but the last week has been crazy! Last Tuesday and Wednesday nights I got a total of 7 hours of sleep… Having to stay up until 3am and 4am to study for a Classical Architecture exam and Italian language test. It was really draining and I basically had nothing exciting to write about on my blog. And for those of you wondering what the title of this journal means, it says "travel to germany" in german. I just hope I said that accurately, its been 2 years since I took German! I will post pictures in the blogs to follow... I have A LOT more to write about our trip to Germany! :) So basically, Thursday night, Mary, Brittni, Greg, Katie and I took off for Munich and ... read more

Ciao! I haven't been able to update in a few days because the internet that we are usually able to steal from our neighbors has officially been cut off!! Horrible, I know... so I had to wait until today to use my computer at school where they have wireless. It is a pain to lug all of my school books, art supplies, and lap top for 25 minutes to school! And for those of you that are still not able to access my private blogs, you need to create an account with travelblog.com and once you have done that, e-mail me and I will add you to the list. Then once you get the notification e-mail from travelblog about being added, click on the link and accept my request! This blog entry is not private, therefore ... read more

Buongiourno amici e famiglia! ...As a special request from my Grandma, I will be putting the translations in English of the Italian phrases that I use in my journals in quotes! :) It was so nice to see dad on skype last night!!!! And also of course mom, Grandma, Grandpa, Cheryl, Aunt Jo, Uncle Rick, Aunt Heidi, Cade and Tegan!! I hope you all had a good time celebrating Grandma's birthday! I put pictures of our "hike" up the duomo of Santa Maria Del Fiore in this blog. I felt so out of shape walking up that yesterday and this morning when we left for school my legs almost gave out walking down our stairs! ha! Cheryl, we REALLY need to restart our hard core aerobics again when I get home!!!!! We had art this morning ... read more

Hello family & friends! And a special hello to the Fallers!! It was great to hear from you! I hope everything is well with the family! Please give Justy a big hug for me! :) For art appreciation today, we climbed the duomo! It is over 400 stairs up the extremely narrow, enclosed tunnel in between the outer and inner walls of the dome! So crazy to think about what famous historical people walked up the same steps and overlooked the city 600 years ago! And I will be changing the status of my blog to private after this entry is posted. Those of you that are not subscribers and would like to be please e-mail me at kelleyjaela@gmail.com and I will add you to the list! By changing my blog status to private, people will ... read more
