Well, technical difficulties and power challenges have prevented me from updating the blog as I travelled. i am enjoying my last evening tremendously....here in Sorrento. I will begin from the end and then update in the coming days on the rest of this FABULOUS trip. I arrived today by hydrofoil from Capri (properly pronouned CAPpri) about 2pm and following a rigorous two weeks, decided to lie by the pool until dinner. Shower, glass of vino rosso at happy hour overlooking the sea, and a walk into town for dinner. At the Piazzo Tasso, there are several choices, and by chance I chose the Don Vincenzo....great gnochi and lamb chops (as always way too much food!). Apologies to the song's artists.... Well, despite my last minute rush and the storm through central Florida, I made it to Orlando airport and now sit in Detroit awaiting the departure to Roma. Thanks, Gordon, for the photo glimpse of the Amalfi Coast. I am so glad this arrived on Monday and not sooner. Otherwise, I would have really been a difficult one awaiting this day. Well, two weeks from now, I will be on the plane to Rome. I have made my reservations and the itinerary is as follows.... Arrive Rome July 8. I will be staying in the Crowne Plaza St Peter's - close to all the great spots. I have requested tour tickets for the Vatican and St Peters (Sistine Chapel!), Forum and Colosseum, Galleria Borghese, and have a walking plan for the Fountains and Piazzas. Hope the tix confirm! It will be a short 30 hours there....and I hear the general public lines are LONG. Afternoon of July 9 I will train to Naples, and ferry to Palermo (overnight), arriving early on the morning of the 10th.
