Well yep am so so jealous, love the pics of the amazing scenery and animals. Any problems with the mosquitos or are you now totally weathered and immune to them. Keep it coming................ xxx |
| 18th April 2008 sue kerrison | 'ello happy campers - From: There's a Crocodile in my pool! I'm tempted to drop everything and fly out, its look great. Must have my gap year! | 18th April 2008 Queenie | Where's the Crocodile! - From: There's a Crocodile in my pool! Hi Guys - Well there was me all excited waiting in anticipation for the photo of you both in the pool with the crocs - see what you can do before you leave Oz. You may be impressed (or not) to hear that I am writing this in the middle of the North Sea, well not actually in the water, that would be silly, but on a ferry heading home after a week in Holland. Absolutely great week, loads of fun and I am now looking forward to a whole weekend sleeping in my own bed (not that it's really likley - loadsa washing). Still loving your blog, it's a great way to keep a record and remind all us jealous folk of how much we are missing. Everyone say Hi, don't ask me who, 'Loadsa people too numerous to mention' as they say at the Oscars, and with the dementia creeping in I'm struggling to remember. Take care you guys and don't forget to 'Pull your head in' Hopefully we can speak sooooooon!! Qxx |
| 15th April 2008 sue kerrison | no buddhas in the jar boy - From: Laos about that then? Hi Travellers, Well this part of your trekking seems great. I'd love to see the jars, really weird. I must ask my daughters friend which part of Vietnam she lived in, shes back over here now to live but she married out there, and said it was more hi-tech than here. Is that true? Still enjoying your stories, although been bust of late and just catching up, but got a prompt today. Thank you received your postcard dated 17th Feb, so went by slow boat from China. Anyway glad you both seem in good health. Ciao x |
| 16th March 2008 George & Wayne | Confucious say .... "man who stands on one leg will fall over!" - From: A big umbrella, a slapped arse and some pavement rage! Nice to see we made it onto your blog although I'm sure you could have picked a far nicer photo of me and Wayne together rather than the one of him trying to strangle me! The puppet one's turned out good too - we may have to "borrow" some of your pics as you have mastered using your camera slightly more than Wayne! Will send you our team kung-fu photo when we get back, although its not as good as your Karate Kid pose! |
| 20th February 2008 Jimmy | - From: Killing Fields! Horrific, if only people were more aware...Anyway keep on keeping on! |

Keep it up you guys, still much better than the National Geographic and History channels. Sorry gotta go, the family are wearing my name out - I'm off to hide a cupboard somewhere. Miss you heaps. | 2nd December 2007 sue kerrison | ellies in their wellies - From: Shit happens! (16 times a day if you are an elephant!) Loved this journal, I bet the ellies shopping was really fun to watch. Seems to be a more enjoyable and relaxing part of your travels. Its great that you are meeting up again with fellow travellers. Look forward to the Christmas ones. If I don't contact before, here's wishing and hoping you both have a lovely different Christmas. x |
| 27th November 2007 Thierry | Back to France! - From: Shit happens! (16 times a day if you are an elephant!) Hi Guys, just few words to inform you that we'll not met each others again in Sri Lanka... So, sorry for the last day i mist with you in Mirrissa, especially really would like to take another Gin tonic with you on the beach as we did 5:30... but the Head Chef of the railway station really felt me made for the transport of my motorbike which was not possible!! Could i carry a bomb on my motorbike?? NO WAY!!! So, finally i Joined Negombo in only one day, because the coast was not so nice as Mirrissa (full of big Hotel, expensive...) and I passed through Colombo with my motorbike without difficulties except in the quarter of high security where i nearly been arrested as i took pictures on the way of the president palace (like Claire did, isn't it??...). So, I'm already come back to my job in France and i'm really happy t meet you in my 3weeks motorbike trip. You're very nice Guys and really hope to see you again when you'll come back of your one year trip!!! ENJOY my friends and take care... Cheers PS: If you meet chris in Kandy, please tell him hello ;0) |
| 22nd November 2007 Shelley Moore | You call this a holiday!! - From: Shit happens! (16 times a day if you are an elephant!) Hi Guys, just been catching up on the latest journals and again they are fantastic reading. I'm glad they're not smell-o-journals as it sounds like you have been minging on more than one occasion!!! You're both looking great in the photo's and I'm glad you have now had a few relaxing days - sort of - cause I am worn out just reading about it all. Keep em coming guys and take care, Love Shelley. PS. England didn't qualify for Euro 2008 aaarrggghh what to do next summer!?! |
| 19th November 2007 Mum | I want to see the hair cut! - From: Shit happens! (16 times a day if you are an elephant!) Enoyed the stories and pictures of the elephants. Claire you must stop falling down drains the last time was in Mablethorpe. Julian, cant't wait to see your new hair do! |
| 19th November 2007 George | Sri Lankan memory lane .... - From: Shit happens! (16 times a day if you are an elephant!) Hi guys! Really love reading all your blogs but have enjoyed these last 2 the most as recognise all the places you have described or pictured. Think I have equally as many photo's of the elephants as that was the highlight of our trip too - I remember seeing club foot and there was also a blind elephant too which was quite sad. I've never suffered from travel sickness but had to keep a bag at the ready on our bus journey up to the tea plantations and I'm sure the dude on the cymbols at the Kandy dance looks kinda familiar too! |
| 19th November 2007 Boon | I want that one! - From: Shit happens! (16 times a day if you are an elephant!) Will you bring me back an ephalump??? |
| 19th November 2007 Alex | Eyes wide shut?! - From: Shit happens! (16 times a day if you are an elephant!) Well done on saving the camera Claire!! Not sure how you managed to fall down a drain - were your eyes shut then too!!? The elephants look fantastic. Loving the walk to the shops - must have been an amazing site. It all sounds great and a fabulous experience. |
| 17th November 2007 sue kerrison | You've exhausted me........... - From: Come in number 2, your time is up! Phew! you've left me breathless, it all sounds very hectic and truly chaotic. There was me thinking the underground was the worst mode of travl. Sorry have only just had time to catch up with your adventures. I think you are both looking extremely fit and healthy considering the language barrier with ordering food and drink. Glad to hear you've had a bit of bad weather, its now getting quite cold here, although some lovely dry sunny days, with spectacular sunsets. Am I in England? Have you bought many items on your travels? As a committed hoarder I would have shipped over loads of stuff by now, I think that is the most memorable item I recall on my journeys is the materials, the textures and colours, let me know if you go by Singapore, they have some gorgeous cushions covers in silk, for only a few dollars, which everyone loved who I gave them to. I'll pop some money in your account to send a dozen or so back. Sounds like my next house project should be in India, now that the mortgage situation here is encountering some problems and halted buyers for a while. Well I wish you bon voyage to Sri Lanka, I 'm sure you'll have peace and harmony there, sounds restful. Keep well and safe travelling Sue x |
| 11th November 2007 Boon | Oh my God! - From: Rice and Curry? Why would you put that picture on here you giant loser?! I feel famous! "He is the egg man, coo coo coo choo!" |
| 1st November 2007 Alex | Bathroom from hell!! - From: Halpret Singh Was compelled to comment if only on the toilet and sink which have given me nightmares ever since! Oh my God! That has to be the worst experience yet - forget riots at cricket matches and death trips on coaches! xx |
| 28th October 2007 Jimmy | Paperazzi - From: The Curse of the Camera Phone! Makes my week in Norfolk seem quite tame...I too know what it's like to be "papped" but when it happens to me they just usually point and then giggle...Keep em coming! |
| 28th October 2007 Boon | I got told off for that! - From: The Curse of the Camera Phone! I appreciate the fact that you wanted to watch the rugby and the football, even though you are away and probably should be exploring you surroundings or whatever you do when you travel! But I remember when being in Great Yarmouth (you know it's 'great') I was banned from watching the Olympics because "We're away on holiday". Just glad there's someone out there who feels like me. Moan over! |
| 19th October 2007 sue k | 'its just not cricket old chap' - From: Halpret Singh Seems to me you were let in free for the enjoyment of the crowd. Still at least they were plastic bottles. Were there many Australians watching? Would loved to have heard you and Claire's Aussie accent though. If you are in Goa now hope you are enjoying your well earned beach rest, drinks and 'posh' hotel facilities. I'll nominate your journals for the Man Booker award next year. Good reading. safe journeying. Sue K x |
| 18th October 2007 Tom | woohoo - bus pictures! - From: Halpret Singh oh, hang on, probably the wrong kind of bus for me :o( sounds like the cricket was an experience you won't forget, for all the wrong reasons too. Although I agree the bloke who got you in is a legend! At least you'll be able to chill out in goa and have those pina colada's you've been longing for! |
| 18th October 2007 Boon | I've spread the word! - From: Halpret Singh 'ow do! I've spread the word of Halpret Singh around Portman Travel! Everyone here thinks he is a true legend too! Three cheers for Halpret! Hip Hip... Can't wait for the photos of the dodgy hotel. I'll advise our clients not to book there lol! Sounds like you is having fun! Main moaned at me for not leaving a comment on your blog yet so here it is! Did I do good?! |

| 12th October 2007 Lilla Miceli | It looks like fun - From: The Name's Bond! Hey you! Glad you are having an amazing time, the photos are fantastic! Trev sends his love, I'm sure he will sign up too soon. Keep blogging, winter is well on its way back here so reading your stories and seeing your pics is really spirit-lifting! Take care x |
| 12th October 2007 Shelley Moore | Fantastic Reading - From: The Name's Bond! Hi Guys, it's great to know you are well (except for the mozzie bites!) and the journals are fantastic reading, I think you should publish them on your return! Photo's are fab but I agree that we need to see some of the buses and digs. Keep the journals coming, can't wait for the next one, take care. |
| 12th October 2007 Jimmy | Yowser - From: The Name's Bond! No need to ask if you are enjoying yourselves...Looks FANTASTIC!!! Keep the reports coming. |
| 12th October 2007 George | Hello big shot! - From: The Name's Bond! Hi guys! Have been reading with great interest all your blogs, sounds like you are having a fantastic (but exhausting) time! I know whenever we've done big holidays (although not as big as your trip obviously!) we feel exhausted by being constantly on the go but always make sure we have a beach stay at the end as our reward so can understand why Goa is calling you! The photo's are fab - glad to see you are getting to grips with your new camera. Bet it was so worth the extra weight in your back pack! Enjoy the sun, sea, sand and some time to chill! George x |
