| 3rd July 2009 JoshinYasha | - From: It's Time to Cross The Wild Meridian Woot! Now you should totally identify the others I have taken :-) |
| 3rd July 2009 JoshinYasha | - From: It's Time to Cross The Wild Meridian I dunno. I just have this amazing ability to find my way around. Must be a boyscout thing. |
| 3rd July 2009 JoshinYasha | - From: Amnesiac Episodes That Never go Away... I have no idea why they freak out over it, but if I had thought McDonald's freaked out, I found out today that the Burger Kings here look at you like your an idiot if you ask for ketchup AND mustard on a burger. Like, wth? It's like they've never heard of how to make a burger! |
| 3rd July 2009 JoshinYasha | - From: She's Got A Passion For Cookies. A Crew Full Of Rookies... It may be one pamphlet, but the thing is already 17 pages long, and still growing. On the plus side, the Portuguese do make a quite lovely beer :) I highly recommend you try some at some point! |
| 3rd July 2009 JoshinYasha | - From: It's Time to Cross The Wild Meridian Yup, Pascagoula is totally in England ;) And no, I haven't run into him yet. I really want to though. I'd totally get a picture of him for you and everyone else! Hmmm.... Try taking a weekend up to Nemacolen (spelling?). It'll be expensive, but worth it, especially since they have a zip-line! |
| 3rd July 2009 JoshinYasha | - From: Searching for My Lost Shaker of Salt I know, I'll probably go back later and lengthen this post, but honestly, I didn't want to write about the exploits of going out that night. I figured the song would be enough to give a clue :) |
| 3rd July 2009 Allison | Eeee! - From: It's Time to Cross The Wild Meridian I'm almost 100% sure that's a Purple Gallinule, though they're supposed to only be in the south of Europe, so I dunno what it was doing in London. O_0 Anyhoo, it's related to the American Coot here in the states and looks practically the same except for the purple sheen on its feathers. Yay! |
| 2nd July 2009 Dave Slu | - From: It's Time to Cross The Wild Meridian How is it that you can never lose your way in town? |
| 2nd July 2009 Dave Slu | Sa-weet - From: Searching for My Lost Shaker of Salt I would love to see Stonehenge! |
| 2nd July 2009 Dave Slu | Remember... - From: That's How I Float Across Time Everyone's free to wear sunscreen. Glad you had a good day. That closed-off patio would drive me crazy, too. Which ideas did you share with Hillar? |
| 2nd July 2009 Logan | That frozen concoction that helps me hang on - From: Searching for My Lost Shaker of Salt You finally use a line from his most famous song, and all you write is this little thing? I'm almost ashamed. Oh well. A trip to Stonehenge? Nice! Take your Flip and take a video for me please? And congrats on having a house named after you! |
| 2nd July 2009 Logan | I didn't know Pascagoula was in England - From: It's Time to Cross The Wild Meridian Things seem to still be going well for you. Have you run into Eddie Izzard yet? All is quiet over here today, though I don't remember if the day you blogged this was or not. Time is just starting to blur together for me Ash. Any ideas on a remedy? Well enjoy yourself and expect a comment on your next video in a few minutes. I'm making up for lost time! |
| 2nd July 2009 Logan | - From: She's Got A Passion For Cookies. A Crew Full Of Rookies... I'm glad you don't have to wear heels anymore to your office. And are you serious? You only have to make one pamphlet the entire time you are over there? That sounds like cake. Anyway, how is Portuguese beer? |
| 2nd July 2009 Logan | Its been a while... - From: Amnesiac Episodes That Never go Away... Sorry I haven't left any comments in a while. Work hasn't been the smoothest ride lately and I've been too tired to type. Is the weather really that hot in England? Its been rather pleasant here. Why were the McDonalds employees shocked by a double cheeseburger? |
| 2nd July 2009 joyce sadlon | Stonehenge - From: Searching for My Lost Shaker of Salt Hopefully you will get to see Stonehenge. It is awesome. Also the plain surrounding it is really fascinating. You are doing so much and working too. Great for you!!! Joyce |
| 1st July 2009 Tom Acree | Fog - From: It's Time to Cross The Wild Meridian Where is the damp foggy London we have been told about. I bet you can pick one of those London Fog Coats cheap now with all that hot weather. |
| 1st July 2009 Tom Acree | Finally caught up on your blogs - From: It's Time to Cross The Wild Meridian GIRL, it took me three hours to get caught up on you! I have gone through all your blogs and looked at all the pictures and read your blogs. Now I have to lay down and take a nap, I'm so tired!!!!! Great pics and I will be following you more closely now that I have added you to my favorites. WE NEED TO SEE MORE PICS OF YOU STANDING IN FRONT OF THOSE PLACES!!! Otherwise, how do we know that you are REALLY there. Who knows! You may be cavorting around somewhere in Italy or Spain and having someone else taking pictures. Hee Hee. Don't tell your Mom if you are. Thanks for the tour. Loved it. Tom |
| 30th June 2009 Joyce | Heat - From: It's Time to Cross The Wild Meridian Ashley, yes you probably miss the good old air conditioning. Sounds like you are having a swell (or sweltering) time there. I'm glad you are seeing everything. Good for you. You go girl!! |
| 27th June 2009 Amanda | O King Henry the 8th I am.. (like the song) - From: The Five O'Clock Friday Blows... Well, I am so glad you are having a fantastic time... I been stuck working a lot lately. I wish I could take a trip over and visit, even if it were just a few days on all the "four day weekends" you get... I have contemplated the second weekend I am off on the schedule for 6 days, and it would be possible to get someone to trade me so I'd have like 8 or 9. We'll see... I am thinking of bringing a partner, if you will, but anyways, those plans most assuredly will fall through. God, all this pictures are so interesting! I bet you are loving it more every day over there... (Just in time to want to stay over there, or go back after you graduate).. Anyways, I enjoy all your blogs and I miss you Sissy! Love, Sissy |
| 26th June 2009 Logan | Ok. You don't deserve a title this time. - From: Another Round o' Brew I don't really have that much to say to this one. I'm glad you are getting along with all the others there. I'm happy you get 4-day weekends. I'm even glad you got to sleep in and rest up after the Globe. But I am so SO jealous of you. I wish I were the one in London! You need to start taking pictures again. Have a nice weekend Ash. |
| 25th June 2009 joyce sadlon | - From: So Hard to Find My Way Now That Im on My Own... Ashley, Marks & Spencer is a huge chain of department stores. They have everything. Butch says pub food would probably be a little less expensive for you. It is also pretty good. Also, for cosmetics, drugs, Boots is the best place to buy. Soo glad you are seeing everything. If you can, go down to Trafalgar Square and see the National Gallery. It will blow you away. Also lots to see down there. Take care. Joyce |
| 25th June 2009 JoshinYasha | - From: So Hard to Find My Way Now That Im on My Own... No, I don't think I even heard of Marks and Spencer. Is it a pub? Also, totally agree with the buses verses the underground. The underground completely kills my ears at times, and at least you get to view the city with the buses. Glad to see you're reading this, btw! Mom told me you were, so I went ahead and added your e-mail to the subscription list so you can get updates easier :) |
| 25th June 2009 JoshinYasha | - From: Spendin' Her Days on the Trains... Yes, the French can cook a steak. And the chips were quite delicious, they had some kind of seasoning on them that gave them an extra bite. And the three-day weekend was worked into our itinerary, so now that we know we can't work Thursdays, we can leave Wednesday evenings to do mini-trips, and so now that three-day weekend is a four, which means I can take a longer trip out to Barcelona, Rome, and Athens if I can manage it :) |
| 25th June 2009 JoshinYasha | - From: We got to go to the Globe last night, but unfortunately didn't get to see the pub with the original plaque. On the plus side, we did eat at a cozy little Greek restaurant. :) |
| 25th June 2009 Logan | Yeah....I think I'll stick to Jimmy Buffett songs. - From: I Hear You, Train, Are You Travelin' My Way? Is the Underground anything like the New York subway system? I don't really have that much to say tonight, mainly because I talked to you on AIM today. You should really start answering the questions I ask on here by the way. Ok, well you aren't the only one who is tired so this is going to be a short comment. Congrats on catching the letter from the play. |
| 25th June 2009 joyce sadlon | Food - From: So Hard to Find My Way Now That Im on My Own... Ashley, We found that the food there was good, however, you really have to pick and choose. Pub food is good, but only in small towns. Not so great in London proper. Have you eaten at Marks and Spencer? You can get good salads and sandwiches at fairly reasonable prices. Sounds like you are having a ball, but working hard. Warm here with wind, but very nice. Also enjoyed riding the buses more than the underground. Joyce |
| 23rd June 2009 Logan | To London's Newest Brown-eyed Girl (I know yours are blue but it fits with the song.) - From: So Hard to Find My Way Now That Im on My Own... Sorry to hear about the bench butt. I know I hate it when that happens. At least you weren't late for work! Its sounds like your job is right up your alley and I'm glad you have amiable coworkers. Well have fun at the Globe tomorrow and I look forward to reading your next blog. |
| 23rd June 2009 Logan | Hello Railroad Lady... - From: Spendin' Her Days on the Trains... Sounds like you are already having a blast Ash. I'm very happy to hear that. Morgantown is its same hot, humid self, so you aren't missing much. So you never said, can the french cook a steak? And do they taste any different when you call them chips instead of fries? Silly question, I know, but the power of the mind can be impressive. I'm sure you can handle an off-the-beaten-path internship. You're too focused to not make it on time. Why is it that you were already getting a three day weekend though? And why do you get Thursday off now as well? Well enjoy yourself and expect more comment titles that go with your blog titles. Logan PS - TAKE PLENTY OF PICTURES OF STONEHENGE FOR ME!! |
| 21st June 2009 Keisha | Amazing - From: Sounds like you are having a marvelous time! I've enjoyed reading your blog and look forward to more! You must go to The Globe! Granted, it is the third one ever built...It is still amazing. Down from the Globe is a bar that bears the plaque signifying the original spot of the first Globe... Got to love that piece of history! |
| 21st June 2009 Allison | Yeep! - From: With a Tin Cup for a Chalice.... Hi! Sorry I missed your call earlier! It was by like three seconds as I pulled it out of my purse and then I couldn't call back because (as expected) my stupid phone doesn't recognize European numbers. Anyway, glad you're happily settling in in London. :D *happy dance of yay* Also glad you got to see Transformers in IMAX! Bet that was spaztacular. Bwahaha. Anyway, I'll ttyl! Allison |
