Fantastic Jon !! - From: Home sweet home
Jon, I have just finished reading the whole journal entries and I am impressed. The whole trip sounded great, the pictures are fantastic, what an experience and I am so pleased you got back safely. Well done ! When are you off to Houston then..................?

Elephants! - From: Hilltribe Trek
I hope you are bringing back photos of your ride on Herbert. It could well be the thing I am most jealous of from your whole trip!

Thanks for the heads up - From: Journey to Vientiane
The trip sounds a bit like some of the ones I've had in the US...ok, may be not. I've been planning on making the same trip and now I have an idea of what I'll be up against. If it were a straight forward bus ride, it wouldn't be worth the story, eh? It makes a great story!

Halong Bay - From: Halong Bay
Jon You are so right, definately one of my highlights of Vietnam, so beautiful although I am gutted I missed out on Monkey Island!! If only I had known I would have been there in a shot!!

Hanoi - From: Hue
Enjoy Hanoi mate - we much preferred it to Ho Chi Minh. Some good little places to eat and more friendly. Not sure what your itinerary is but if you get a chance head out to Halong Bay - if the weather's good it'll be great. Keep enjoying it! Hx

OK. So is anyone now worried that Jon may be emailing too much? Jon - write less, sleep, rest and experience more! ;-) Sounds like you're getting the typical south east asian treatment. Don't talk too soon about the transport; wait til you get to Cambodia. Thailand is a walk in the park... XL

Kangaroo Court - From: Thale Ban continued
Is it just me who thinks Monique sounds a bit wet. You need yourself an Aussie girl mate who'll say "that's not a knife..." and cleave those blood sucking worm punks dead. Speaking of which, watch Wolf Creek. You won't leave your tuk tuk unattended anywhere ;-)

What's happened to Jon? - From: Bangkok continued
Nice to hear fun is being had, but is anyone else just a tad concerned that Jon is supposed to be using this site to keep us updated and let us know he's still alive, and yet he hasn't written anything for a full week? Not that I have an overactive imagination, but what if that amulet didn't work and this Monique girl isn't everything Jon-boy thought she was...? Jon, if I'm thinking things like that, think what your poor mum will be worrying about! Give us more info! xxx

Lady boys - From: Bangkok
Just don't take up any girls/ladyboys on their offers of connect four in the bars mate as a) they're ace at it somehow (maybe the effect of Chang/Singha makes you worse) and b) when you lose they have slightly high expectations and slightly misinterpreted recollections of what you agreed to play for ;-) enjoy mate!

Progress - From: Final preparations
I can add to Jon's progress report. He stopped over at mine on route to Heathrow. He had his colonial style biege trousers on ready for travel (didn't go too well in Kilburn on a cold night, got some abuse in an Irish pub) I have no idea if he made his flight in time, as I was in bed. Over to you J
