This blog was first used when I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. Since then, I have been attempting to be more adventurous and adaptable! I hope to keep my family, friends, and mission partners connected to me through this blog while working for FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students.

Dear Followers, Happy Easter! What a beautiful time of year it is- the springtime of the Church! I just wanted to give a nice update as we approach this beautiful season and as time starts to quickly go by. We have a new Papa to lead us! I am so blessed to work for FOCUS. Our Web Director, Kevin, came up with the idea the weekend before the Conclave started to have a way where people could be updated through text and e-mail if the new Pope was elected during the middle of the night (in America). To say the least, Popealarm.com (http://www.popealarm.com/) went off with a big bang and we had over 100,000 people sign up for it! Our Tech, Digital Campus, Formation and Marketing teams worked super hard and endlessly to make this tool ... read more

Dear Followers, Wow. I fail. It's been over six months since I last blogged and we are even in a new year now! Happy 2013 by the way! Obviously I am not meant to be a blogger forever. However, I do owe you all a little update on my latest adventures! In August 2012, I was blessed to go to Lincoln, NE to witness one of my good friends from college take her first vows within the Christ the King Sisters. Sister Teresa Marie, Abbey and I were reunited! In October 2012, my parents visited for a few days and we went ziplining in the Rocky Mountains (www.denveradventures.com)! Later that month, I went to Salt Lake City and completed a Tough Mudder (www.toughmudder.com) with a few friends/co-workers. This was the hardest thing I have ever done, ... read more

Dear Followers, Another blog! WOO! This one specifically is about a trip I just took to Chicago yesterday. This past weekend I was on a silent retreat for almost 48 hours, which was CRAZY! It was so hard! However, I perservered and learned a lot of different things... some of them small graces, and some things haven't happened yet, but I am excited to know I have grown closer to God. To celebrate (and to get away since we had an unexpected day off on Monday) I decided to head to the second largest city in America-- CHICAGO, IL! :) My friends Cari and Sara and I went up on Sunday night and stayed at the InterContinential Hotel, which was right on Michigan Avenue! It was so fun! We decided to walk around Navy Pier for ... read more

Dear Followers, Hello and happy summer! I hope you are doing well! I am back in the midwest, which means my hair is a lot more frizzy and my running is the best that it can be. Aside from the humiditiy, I am enjoying my time back in one of the best regions ever! Being out of the mountains and back into flat land is different, but amazing. I am writing from the FOCUS staff training where we have over 300 people (including 160 new first year missionaries) and lots of excitment, prayer, and fun! We have just started into our third week and a routine has been in progress. Everyday has been an adventure, and like last summer, I am taking classes with all the other 1st and 2nd years but this time, I have ... read more

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." - Mahatma Ghandi Dear Followers, It's been a week since I got back from my mission trip to the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky. I can't believe it. What a week it was, to submerge myself into a whole new world, even though I was in the United States. This was FOCUS's first mission to Appalachia, so our group kind was kind of guinea pigs with a new place and mission. We were blessed to work with the Father Beiting Appalachia Mission Center in Louisa. The mission center is a place that works with some of the poorest people, who have always relyed on farming, coal mining, and logging. They give volunteers the experience to do hands-on projects often side by side ... read more

Dear Followers, Wow. Once again I fail. Really. Truly. I know I have a lot to cover over the past two months, but I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate all your support of me, the mission of FOCUS, and just being there to read this blog. So. To start off, I have chosen a new word to live by for the year of 2012... (drum roll, please)... it is... ADAPTABILITY. I have chosen this word because ever since graduating college and moving to a new place, I have had to get outside my comfort zone and really ADAPT to new places, people, and things. It has been fun thus far, but I still have a lot to learn and a lot to give. I am really excited to continue being ADVENTUROUS (my ... read more

Dear Followers, Wow. I am the WORST blogger ever. I told you I would be updating every few weeks, but that obviously is NOT the case. A LOT has happened over the past two months since I last wrote. Aside from my homesickness, which is thankfully over, I have been doing decently well. I am trying to continue to trust in the Lord and do what He has called me to do-- work at the national office. Sometimes it has its trials but most days are fruitful and a learning experience. I have also been blessed to work with such amazing and caring people and who help me to keep my eye on the main prize and how we are all working together to serve the college students. It's like the verse from 1 Corinthians in ... read more

Dear Followers, Hello! I must first of all apologize for not having updated my blog as often as I thought I would. I have been crazy busy with adjusting to life at work, the great city of Denver, and meeting new people. Today is the first day of fall (can't belive it) and it is so beautiful out today! Driving into the mountains to go to work is always a blessing because I never really have any trouble with traffic but also to look at the mountains as I drive to the west is awesome! Let me update you on a few things. First of all, in the title of Cube-ie, it is something that my cubicle mates and I call each other. There are four of us that sit together in a square form with ... read more

Dear Followers, I guess that the last part of my entry got cut off... maybe that is a "welcome to Colorado" gift. :) Anyways, all I was going to say was that on the way back down from the Continental Divide, I ended up getting altitude sickness, which I had never experienced before. Part was because of dehydration, and the other part was probably because of all the twists and turns of the mountains, which is something that I hopefully will get used to. Mom, dad, and I ended our first weekend in Colorado by going to Casa Bonita, a great Mexican restaurant that provides fun and entertainment for any age. We definitely saw a gun show, a gorilla trick show, and cliff divers! :) My first week of work was this past week, with my ... read more

Dear Followers, Sorry that it has taken me a long time to post. This summer has been crazy, filled with many many weddings as well as moving to a new state. After training, I spent a lot of time working on my fundraising and trying to raise my monthly support so that I could come and work for FOCUS and serve the missionaries at each campus in my region. We have 10 schools in my region, the largest one there is. They include three schools in Colorado, three schools in North Dakota, three schools in Minnesota, and one school in Wisconsin. It has been a great, yet trying experience to ask people to support me on a monthly basis, but I also have been able to share my story and how I came to where I ... read more
