This is an album of photos from my weekend trip to Munich for opening weekend of Oktoberfest 2009. Alongside my girlfriend Marilyn and friend Andy, we flew in to meet my Uncle and his friends for a incredibly fun-filled weekend of half-pints, headaches, and half roasted chickens. As I usually say with these blogs, the pictures don't even come remotely close to doing this event justice. This was my second year going, and if you ever have the means to go to Oktoberfest in Munich, do and spend whatever it takes to go: I guarantee it will be the most fun you have ever had. Florence - This album is a combination of photos from two of my different stays/trips in Florence. The first was from from August, my first month in Italy when I lived in Florence while I was taking the certification course to become an English Teacher in Italy. I didn't take a whole lot of pictures during this time because I was too busy with the class. The second set of pictures is from when Marilyn, Andy, and I stopped in Florence for a day before flying up to Munich for Oktoberfest opening weekend. Marilyn and I managed to do a little bit of sight-seeing while we were there, including climbing to the top of the famous "Duomo," where you can see the entire city of Florence. Beautiful Perugia - this is a short album of pictures from my 1 month stay in Perugia. I moved here with my friend Andy after we finished our Teaching Certification course in Florence to spend the month searching for jobs and doing interviews. Perugia is one of the most beautiful, historic, and culturally dense places I have ever been in my life. It is a little Medieval University town in the mountains located about halfway between Rome and Florence. Andy and I got this great apartment with our access to our own private garden with what I believe to be the best views in the whole city... not to mention the garden had a ping pong table as well.
