Me and my boyfriend Jody are climbing in the leather Recaros in our pimped out Merc Vito and catching a ferry to The Hook of Holland on the 5th August 2010! From there on we plan to drive round Holland, Belgium, France, The Alps, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria and Germany over 3 months! Stopping by a few family and friends along the way! Lets see what we get up too!

Check out pics for some quick info on what we've been up to. Also went to the North of Portugal to our friends Grandma's house and also to Sintra but the camera memory stick decided to show an error message so can't get the pics :( xx

We didn't want to rush to Madrid so planned to stop over in Zaragoza but by the time we got near, it was late so we tried to get some kip in the van but nearly died from the heat. We had to have a shower from our solar power shower thing just to cool off, in the middle of a truck stop! Anyway we had to just carry on driving through the night cause there was no way we were sleeping so we just carried on to Madrid.

We then went to a campsite recommended from the Rough Guide and took a walk into the shopping area. Jody was looking to get a nice Nixon watch and I was up for a new dress or two! In the end we haggled with this dude for Jody's watch and got a good discount and I got 60% off my Quiksilver dress and Nikita top! Honestly at these prices you can't afford not to buy! The next day we got some info on the place and realised that there was a bike park in the mountains nearby and there was a 4X track for Jody to ride. We went the the bottom of the cable

Here they have a medieval Cité which I really wanted to visit as it is the setting of the book I was reading, Sepulture by Kate Mosse. It was baking hot when we got there and there were hundreds and hundreds of tourists! We had a walk around the inner Cité and I took loads of photos but the magic of the place was lost for me due the the sheer number of people there. Still enjoyed it though and bought a couple of postcards! We then travelled on to Andorra. xx

... read moreJody, Sorry about the slackness with the write up. The heat really picked up when we got to biarritz, finally seem to be escaping the British weather that kept reaching out to us. After all the driving we were gagging to get to the beach, me for waves, Anne for sun bathing. With a gentle 2.5 foot swell we both got wettied up and went in the water. No need for the wettie here really as the water is fantastic. The surf was good although it would be 3 days of flat till the surf picked up again. Campsite was only 5 mins walk from beach so the van rarely got used and the facilities were really good. The shop sells huge bottles of Desparados which is so cool, guzzled a few of those bad boys!
... read moreLes Gets This is the part of the trip I’ve been most looking forward to and it didn’t disappoint. Couldn’t fit my Down Hill bike in the van so we rented them off the nicest Frenchman I’ve ever met, seriously, if you’re ever in Les Gets and need anything bike or surf, visit Nevada Sports. Hats off to you Thiery, you are a true gentleman and a general lovely guy. Spent the first night camped in some car park on the side of the valley before we got a camp site the next night. The riding was sick, absolutely sick, I’m so proud of Anne for following me all the way, she did really well and it’s not like we were just pussying out and doing all the green runs. Anne followed me through red runs,

... read moreWe slept in the van outside the Hoegaarden brewery that night waiting for our tour/visit with no bother at all. Woke up on the Monday and found out the brewery was shut, great. Went on to the Sasson Dupont brewery and that was also shut. Great. So by now we’re pretty pissed off with the whole place, its Monday for gods sake, not Sunday so get up off your arse’s and open some stuff! So with nothing being open and the general attitude we ran into, we left Belgium pretty sharpish, never to return. What a waste of time and money.
... read moreBrussels Not alot to say really. Pulled into Brussels and was shocked at the blatant dis regard for driving rules, the place is insane, do what you like basically. The architecture in Brussels is pretty amazing, especially the central square which was amazing. Had a look round saint Michaels cathedral (which was free, always good) and stared in awe at the place. Inside and out its truly amazing. As if we visited the main Royal Palace and parked right outside the main gate, check the pictures, the van doesn’t look out of place at all!
