Bali Bound! Asia » Indonesia » Bali
We arrived straight into the hustle and bustle of Kuta at about 10 at night, great surfing on the beaches, Jo and I both had a go with varying degrees of success!! A couple of days later we wanted to move on to some tranquility, we decided on a really small island called Gili Air, to get there we had to travel through a larger island called Lombok...bad mistake! On the way down there, we were pickpocketed, a pair working together managed to get into our bacpack and stole my money belt....Say goodbye to my passport, 200 quid, debit cards, driving [View Full Entry]

5-star luxury for us!
Sunset on Nusa Lembongan

Only a few more days to kill before going on to Bali, we reached Singapore just in time to see the buildup to the Chinese New Year celebrations. The negative drawback to that was the whole city was virtually closed down, we managed though, saw an amazing dragon dance, deafening drums and awesome acrobatics and choreography, we missed the full celebrations by hours but still considered ourselves priviledged to have seen that. Singapore's an amazingly efficient city, really clean and a great place to spend a few days lazy days seeing what it has to offer.....God, i sound like a travel [View Full Entry]

Having found 2 weeks in Singapore too expensive, we thought we'd go and see what Malaysia had to offer, after the efficiency and cleanliness of Singapore, we were in for a culture shock, still, the islands were gorgeous, first day on Tioman island we swam with a turtle!!!! The Malaysian people weren't too friendly though, the exceptions being Maznah, Citi and Aiden at " Maznah's " in Cherating, excellent hosts and brilliant food! [View Full Entry]

All thanks here go to our "Sentosa Angels", Kathy and Dinah. Without them we would have been thoroughly up the creek without a paddle! We arrived at about 20:30 hoping to get on the campsite at Sentosa, on the shuttle bus we met Kathy and Dinah, two amazing ladies on holiday at their company's chalet. Without knowing anything about us they promptly invited us to stay with them on the floor of the chalet. Luckily we accepted because we found out the next day that the campsite was closed for renovation! Anyway, we had a lovely time on Sentosa for a [View Full Entry]

First stop......INDIA ! Asia » India » Rajasthan » Jodhpur
well, first leg, what a place to start, nothing like being broken in gently....NOT ! India may be to some people's taste, but i'm afraid it was definately " not our cup of tea " as the old colonials might have said, two days after landing we'd decided to leave ASAP! Cue whistle stop tourist time, we came, we saw, we buggered off damn fast!! [View Full Entry]
