I am so blessed to have a work that I love and at the same time enables me to travel and explore the beauty of my country the Philippines. This time again, I was tasked to give support to the Architect-in-Charge of Northern Mindanao-Cagayan De Oro. We will be giving technical assistance and workshp to the Local Government Unit's Architects and Engineers. Of course, after the work, we always reward ourselves with not only good food but also, something that will enrich our experience and memories in that particular city. Cagayan De Oro is famous for the White Water Rafting, being dubbed as the Adventure Capital of the Philippines. We were a group of 6 good thrill-seekers, Beginners category, who are willing to have that exhilirating experience as we cross the raging Cagayan River. We were ... read more

Again, work brought me back to Mindanao twice this year. This time, I was able to traverse the Davao River five times just in 1 day. Also, this is my only travel that in five days was able to visit the Five Provinces of Davao, Davao City, Davao Del Norte, Davao Del Sur, Compostela Valley, and Davao Oriental. Davao Region is famous for the exotic Durian, which I learned to eat after going back and forth the Region. My favorite is the Pomelo, which Davao Oriental is famous for its being juicy and sweet. Compostela Valley is where most of the Gold Mining sites are located and beautiful falls, but the travel is a challenging one. Not because it's not safe, but because of the rough road and rugged terrain. Davao del Norte is ... read more

Thanks to my work and it brought me to the beautiful Region down south--- the Mindanao. This time after my official business, I was accompanied by my colleagues of DOH Region CARAGA to visit the famous Enchanting River in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is 8 hours travel from Davao City or if from Surigao del Sur, around 45 to 1 hour land travel. The Chief of one hospital there that I provided technical assistance promised to tour me around once I visited their place. We arrived at the Hinatuan District Hospital around 730 in the morning. We were served with a sumptuous seafood meal for our breakfast and after getting around the facility it’s time to go to this River that everyone is talking about. The sun is up and just right for our trip. ... read more

Travelling up North never tires me, for a lot of reasons. I love to take any way in going there, be it by land or by air. Though, it will take you 12 hours to reach the Northern part of the Ilocos Region if by land, but if you travel by air, it will only take you around 45 minutes. The road going to Ilocos Norte is pretty much OK that makes the 12 hours smooth and let you enjoy the scenery along the way. I can't count anymore how many times I have visited Ilocos Norte. Each visit was a great experience. But, this time, I decided to spend one weekend there in order for me to visit the other tourist spots I haven't visited yet during my previous travels. Arrived Laoag International Airport around ... read more

It was my 2nd time to visit Malaysia in 2009, and finally my destination is in Kuala Lumpur. Together with my architect friends, we have visited KLLC, Chinatown, and the famous Genting Highlands. Unfortunately, cable car is down. We did not get a ride at the Theme Park. Just sightseeing and photoshoot occupied our time. We went back to the City after two hours, then just went to visit the malls at the basement level of our Hotel. But before heading off to Bangkok, we were able to drop by at the Putrajaya Government Complex. It is the Federal Administrative Center of Malaysia and was named after the first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra. From the wikipedia.org, it is listed as the Third Federal Territory after Kuala Lumpur and Labuan. Putrajaya is the brainchild of ... read more

This is my second time around in Siargao Islands, and again it's all because of work. After doing our official business, me and my colleagues from the Department of Health headed to the Cloud 9 Resort where the Surfing Competition every September is held. Though, it's only December but the waves are already awesome. I can say that there's much more to see comes September. We just look around, lots of locals and foreign nationals surfing with the waves. I enjoyed watching them and how i'd wish i know how to surf. Next day, we went back to Surigao City and the weather is fine. We had a smooth sailing trip back to Surigao City. Will i still go back to Siargao Islands? Have witnessed those great waves, definitely YES, and wish it will be in ... read more

As always, travel to Davao City is something i really look forward to. My first visit to Davao City was in October 1995 when i attended the National Conference for Architects, and the rest was history. I can't count anymore how many times i have visited Davao and each visit is always a new experience. Last year, i visited Davao City in October for 8 days due to training and again UAP-NCA. One thing, i can't forget was my Digos experience with my colleagues, shina, hazel, franie and bong. No activity for that day in our NCA that we decided to go zip-lining. We travelled for 3 hours to Digos by a rented cab then from Digos we have to take a motorcycle to reach the foot of the mountain(another 20 KM) where we will ride ... read more

Another adventure with my architect friends. All are set, July 15-19, we, four of us, Franie, Mildred, Winnie and Me have a scheduled holiday to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. We did not arrange any land accomodation, the only planned itinerary was the date of the travel, but to hotels and where to go, nothing was planned. Due to busy schedule during the previous week i never had the chance to surf the net and see what's in store for us in those 3 countries. We arrived in Singapore, 1030am, took a cab to the downtown to look for hotel where Franie and Mildred could stay, since me will be staying with Wines. After reaching the orchard plaza, we went to Esplanade, Raffles Hotel and then had our lunch. We checked-in at the hostel at the ... read more

Official travels usually brought me to places i think i wouldn't have the chance to visit if it will just be a regular vacation/ travel. Whooaaa! The Province of Surigao del Norte requested for technical assistance from our office for the upgrading of an Island Hospital which is the Siargao District Hospital. And i am just lucky maybe that i am in-charge of the CARAGA Region. All set and it's June 30 to July 4, official business trip with my officemate to assist me aside from our CHD Engineer. PAL is our official airline and we landed at Butuan City airport. Headed to Surigao City for an early morning meeting with Provincial Governor Barbers. The next day, July 2, at 5:00 in the morning, we left at the Surigao City port riding a pump boat. It's ... read more
