I am still managing to fit so much into my time travelling (i keep on thinking i am running out of time and i have to see everything). From Koh Tao i took a 26 hour journey to Sukhothai using almost all forms of public transport. Sukhothai is a really intresting city - like Ayutthaya it is a former capital of Thailand, and boasts some incredable ruines. the whole of the city is a national park, and nature seems to engulf the sacred ancient ruinsi rented out another bike and ended up cycling around the old city all day (i managed to get lost for a few hours of course). from Sukhothai i took the night train north to Chaing Mai, Thailands second biggest city. after seeing the city and visiting the impressive sunday market (which ... read more

From Kanchanaburi (on the River Kwai) i headed north to the old capital city of Ayuttaya. i hired a bike and toured the citys ruins with Frans and Dirk (a gay Dutch couple) who i had met the night before. the whole place is truly amazing, and its hard to explain the sheer size of the ruined temples dotted around the city. i orriginally planned to head north ot Laos, but i decided to go south to the relitivly unspoilt Island of Ko Tao for diving. it is really relaxing here, i end up spending my afternoons relaxing by the beach watching the sunset. i have just completed my PADI Open Water course, so i am qualified to dive anywhere in the world - i have already done 5 dives (max depth 18m). the coral and ... read more

wow! Bankok is simply amazing. where anything goes and you can buy anything from a millitary grade sniper scope to a wife, this seems to be the congregation point for tourists, adventurers and just crazy nutters alike. being constantly hasseled by locals and being ripped off i feel the people here have been so corrupted by western society and money they cant be trusted *only in Bankok , everywhere else they are really nice* i have vistited the amazing weekend market here, i felt i could have spent all day here and still not seen all the strange shops, huddled on narrow streets. i was truly in awe when visiting Bankoks Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo, the royal temple. there are so many perfectly decorated buildings, all crammed so tightly together. unfortunalty however i missed ... read more
