Home at last (well sort of)!! It's so good to be back in the land of 'you kneeew' and 'Howzit Breew'. My plans have changed for the 174th time, i luv what i'm doing and where i'm working at the mo so why change a winning formula??? I'm guna have to keep tuning into Animal planet to fantasise about Gorrilas until the day comes where i travel East Africa. Basically i looked at what i wanted to do and realised i needed at least three months, not three weeks. My first week was spent with Charlie who i'd met at the Backpackers where i was staying. We plus Timmy and Jimbo (two lads who were also at the hostel) spent the first weekend i was here sampling the bars and watching England getting thumped against SA ... read more

Yet ANOTHER head doing 20 hour trip by seven different modes of transport and we arrive in Ko Samet. "GORGEOUS" is the describing word for this island. We chose it because it's not a million miles away from Bangkok and is definately the nicest looking island we've visited in Thailand. Not alot of people and puka beaches so the days have been spent on the beach and the evenings have been spent partying hard with a couple from Birmingham who we've met up with. So there we go. The 2 studs is shortly guna be back to 1. How da hell has 12 months passed??????????? I'm so happy to be flying to Joburg on wednesday but absolutely gutted i booked the bloody flight when England are playing Russia. I stop in Dubai for a couple of ... read more

First impressions of Chiang Mai was thank god that slowboat journey was over and with Daz already settled in after arriving a day earlier it was a day spent swapping stories and eating fine food. After booking our trek and onward travel it was time to enjoy the northern Thailand sun in an irish beer garden located not far from our guesthouse. Daz had explained that there was a 'shitty little bar' just around the corner but said it didn't look all that; as it turned out we spent most the weekend in the 'shitty little bar' mainly because it had Pro Evolution 2008 on the playstation and showed footy all weekend long. It was owned by a swedish fella and was the local watering hole for ex-pats so by the time the weekend was over ... read more

This is the perfect place to visit if you wanna take time off life. Not alot happens here and the locals can be found just lounging around horizontal on the roadsides. Sounds ok but two weeks was more than enough. The 22 hours bus journey from Vietnam was interesting though and also shot off the scale of 'head-doing-ness'. After overloading the bus with anything from rice sacks to live birds there was little room for us to squeeze in. Luckily for me i just slept on all the rucksacks at the back of the bus but Daz was not so lucky; his seat didn't even recline and sitting upright for nearly a day enough was enough. One positive thing to come out of the journey was our new backpacker recruit. Fernando, a brazilian from Sao Paulo ... read more

Being the capital city of Vietnam we were expecting even more death defying trips accross roads than Ho Chi Minh city but with less than half the population (3 million) than HCMC it seemed quite laid back. Perfect to our adopted lifestyles over the last few months me thinks. A couple of days walking around the streets supposively sightseeing but more checking out the restaurants that we'd be testing in the evening and it was time to dissapear to Ha Long Bay on the north east coast of Vietnam. We'd booked an organised trip for the duration of three nights. Ha Long Bay is classed as a world heritage site and consist of a group of 1996 limestone islands, caves and beautiful secluded beaches. The motto if visiting world heritage sites is 'To Take only photos ... read more

JUST A QUIKIE, MASSIVE THANKS TO ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN GETTING BACK MY MISSING BLOGS. I MUST ALSO ADD THAT I WAS ONLY JOKING ABOUT BUYING YOU COPIUS AMOUNTS OF ALCOHOL ON MY RETURN...........THANKS ANYWAY! We booked an express bus from Phnom Penh (Cambodia) to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and were due to depart @ 8am. A couple of puzzled looks on the studs faces as a clapped out banger of a car pulls up outside the guesthouse where we were waiting "Ho Chi Minh" yep , that's us Daz. We thought we'd just be getting a lift to the main bus station and then continue our journey from there. After an hour of touring Phnom Penh filling up with fuel, putting air in the tyres and reaching the main highway out of the city ... read more

After already completeing a Visa run in June we already knew what to expect from the trip to the Cambodian border from Bangkok; what we didn't know was what awaited us the other side of the border. We knew from other travellers that the roads in Cambodia were not exactly of M11 standards but this was even worse than expected. Five hours of travelling in a cramped sweaty minibus on roads that wouldn't of looked out of place after an American airstrike. Averaging a top speed of 15km/h this was one journey we don't wish to repeat!! After leaving Bangers at 7am we finally arrived in Siem Reap about midnight. After buzzing around the city via moto (a tuk-tuk with a moped pulling it) we finally found a place to stay. Siem Reap is a pleasent ... read more

With the Freaks back in England and Oz and with the return of Daz from hospital we spent a further week in Ko Tao. Loved it here, experienced a couple of Scuba dives and basically just chilled the hell out. We befriended a german lad (Felix) and ended up travelling with him for a couple of weeks. The bungalows we chose to stay in were like a scene off an Animal ... read more
