Thank you for sharing
Our family will be going to Kyoto in October and are planning on going down to Kumamoto on a side trip. The Aso Temple is one of the sites we are planning on visiting, so I decided to do some research on the web. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I know that this will be a definite stop on our tour, thanks to you. Gladys

Sharing the love of castles, but the hate of liver!
Wow, spectacular pictures, so beautiful! The castle looks so awesome! And I share a distaste for liver as well my friend, so i don't blame you there....I don't think you should feel bad lol. I'm glad you had such a good time in Seoul!

Little Bro!
Hey there you big clod! Talk about not hearing from you in a while! Yeah, Korea and Japan have been very interesting! I sure do miss hanging out with you. Let's get together in Osaka next year! What do you think? You want to fly out to Japan? ;)

Sellong-tang soup
Thanks for the info! The Korean language is quite difficult for me and even though my friends say the name... I always forget by the time I do my blog. - Sigh - As for the spleen... liver/spleen... just can't quite get into them myself. :)

Sellong-tang soup
The part you call liver actually comes from cow spleen. Myself, I love its nutty taste. You can actually order a special version of Selleong-tang with nothing but manha in it. ;-) I agree with you that the soup there is kinda bland. Try a more modern franchise called Shinsun Sulnongtang around Seoul. Japanese love it. (Unless you hate the undertaste of peanuts.) Don't forget to put salt and pepper!

Sounds fun and yummy!
Oh you make all that food sound really good...sounds like if I ever go I'll get fat from gorging myself lol. I'm glad you got to stay in a nice hotel, it looks like you had a great time...and you know....looking at the pictures, I don't know if its just because you mentioned it, but Seoul does kinda have something slightly Seattle-ish about it. I dunno...or maybe we're both crazy lol.

AWESOME!
Wow, it sounds like that first day was a blast! I'm so glad you were able to get a good hotel room for the evening, what a wonderful break. I'm going to Seattle for the second time this year, I'll be sure to send you pics of the drizzly streets, I hope it will help your homesickness ^__^ Thanks for taking photos of the food, that's so exciting for me to see!

Yay for new blogs and Seoul!!! That hotel jacuzzi looks swell...and I for sure miss Asian street meats. I miss buying stuff on the street in Thailand and literally having no clue what I was eating!

Don't eat the poor horseys!
Wow...raw horse meat....uch. Not only do I like my meat to be well cooked, but I also like it to not be...well a horse LOL. Sounds like you had a blast in Japan, I'm so happy for you, especially with the good luck of being stranded another another day and all the winnings! Once you are in Japan I am so gonna come visit! Thanks for the blog, I enjoyed it so much.

wow!
What a FUN trip you had! WOW! I love the 7-11 shots, I had a grin on my face when looking at them that was probably as big as the one you had starting your trip! I REALLY love the food shots, it's extraordinary how different all the food looks in a real Japanese restaurant vs how they look at a J-restaurant here in the States. No comparison!! I can't wait to go there and have an Udon meal with you... complete with lots of Sake & Beer of course!!! What a great blog. MORE MORE MORE!!

Crazy
Yeah, I love going to places where there are not a lot of tourist. It makes the experience a lot better and more "real" if you know what I mean. I still have a lot more traveling to do to catch up with you though!! :)
