I wanted to enjoy it with some good friends and a bit relaxing. We decided to rent a car and leave Saturday morning to come back Sunday night. To get to the great ocean road it was a 1.5 hour drive and then the beautiful scenery last for hours if you want to go that far. All along the great ocean road there are beautiful rock formations and pull offs http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Great-Ocean-Road/blog-396481.html Easter Holiday Darwin So to continue from the last blog I flew into Darwin Easter Sunday morning and my flight arrived after 12. I enjoyed the day looking around Darwin even though there wasn't much to see. The beach had crocodiles in it so you couldn't go swimming. I enjoyed my Easter Sunday with a bite to eat and a few drinks. The next day began early. I got up to begin a 2 day tour fo Kakadu National Park. We stare http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Northern-Territory/Kakadu-National-Park/blog-388327.html Easter Holiday Cairns So this was an amazing trip. The journey began on Holy Thursday when I flew into Cairns late that evening. When I arrived at my hostel it looked really nice. They had a bar and kitchen where you could order food. When I got to my room it was a different story. The other 5 girls living in it had there stuff everywhere and didn't turn the fan or air con on After it cooled down it became a little http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Queensland/Cairns/blog-388326.html Bushdoof So this past weekend we went to the Bush to go to a rave at a camp ground. It was about a 23 hour drive. When we got there we set up shop...which means we prepared the van to sleep for later that evening and got into our costumes. The party's theme was magical creatures. I dressed up as a fairy and my friend went as a bat fairy...which ended up looking like the evil fairy. The party ran from noo http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Shepparton/blog-388323.html Tassie So going to Tazmania was short lived but much needed. I flew out of Melbourne on Friday night into Launceston went on a Hiking trip to Cradle Mountain on Saturday and then flew back Sunday morning. I only took a bookbag full of what I needed I'm learning to travel light. So the tour began by taking a drive towards Cradle Mountain but stopping along the way. We stopped at Ashgrove Cheese Factory http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Tasmania/Launceston/blog-383875.html Melbourne This past week was intersting as well. Tuesday was St. Patrck's day and I took a 12 day at work to go to an irish pub. There was a pub that had a big open courtyard fenced in and had live music all day. It was a good time having some beer and hanging out with friends. The next night wednesday day I took a Bollywood dancing class that lasted an hour. We then began to walk home and found a bar who http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/blog-383202.html The Blue Mountains and Sydney This weekend I went to sydney and the blue mountains. I flew into sydney on Thursday and then took a train to my hostel. The next morning I got up early and took a 2 hour train to the blue mountains where the adventure began. Here I took a tour where we aberseiled known as repelling in the US downcliffs at different heights. We started with a 5m section followed by a 10m and 30m cliff. The 30m c http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/New-South-Wales/Sydney/blog-378400.html Yarra River and time with friends So two blogs posted in 1 day...this is big. After this one I should be all caught up. The main problem is I can type my experiences but the picture uploading takes forever. The last few weeks here have been great. A lot of new people moved into the building i live in and I now have a wide variety of friends all international. Last weekend I went on a ferry down the yarra river and saw a different http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/blog-378279.html Wilson's Prom Victoria Fires Sydney So I am getting a little behind on my bloggin but these past few weeks here have been very interesting to say the least. A few friends of mine that I met here at the graduate house decided to rent a house and car for the weekend at a very good price and go down to Wilson's Promontory a few weekends ago which is a national wildlife park where you can camp and hike. The house we rented was about 8 http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Wilsons-Promontory/blog-371893.html Work and some Australian open A few weeks ago the Australian Open began. Thats huge here in in Australia and incase you don't have a clue what that is its a tennis tournament about a 25 minute walk from here. So even with Australia day as the first day of the week my week still wasn't the greatest. I am beginning to realize that this type of physiotherapy isn't for me. The week went kinda slow even though every night consist http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/blog-366271.html About Work This was my first week of my internshipwork so it was back to reality. I will admit it was not so fun at first. The week started off with 3 days of research which includes me sitting at a desk searching for articles for three days in a row. I really didn't enjoy it but I think it will get better as the weeks go on. My Thursday consists of a falls and balance outpatient clinic. The way this works http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/blog-364477.html The Great Ocean Road and the Grampians I want to begin by saying this trip was one of the most interesting few days I've had since I've been here. Also when looking at the pictures that I'm about to explain you need to understand they don't catch the true beauty that is Australia. My weekend began when I got on the tiny bus of 20 passengers...mostly consisting of backpackers. The nationalities of the people were mostly german along wit http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Great-Ocean-Road/blog-362645.html Wine Tour and a little more of Melbourne So again I'm going to join a few days together. Yesterday Petar and I took a Wine tour that stopped at 4 wineries. It was an all day event. We took our first sip of wine at 1055am and didn't stop until much later that evening. We learned the proper way to taste and smell wine and ended up coming back with three bottles. The wineries were beautiful and it was a perfect day to go. The next day I re http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/blog-361418.html Some more beach Yarra River and PENGUINS So I added a few days together. Earlier this week I went to the beach which happened to be almost the same spot I was the day before. I went to Carrum beach with Thil and Clayton and found out that the next stop was Seaford which was where Petar was staying. So I decided to take a hop on the train and check it out. We spent the day at the beach and then caught a bite to eat later in the afternoon http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Philip-Island/blog-359917.html Relaxing and enjoying some more beach time So today and yesterdays blog are combined. Yesterday I decided to relax and I took a walk back down to Victoria market and strolled through the Flagstaff gardens again. I decided to camp out a bit and take a nap. That was really the extent of the excitement to that day. Now today I got up early and caught a train out to Carrum station which is about 45 minutes from the Melbourne and only a 5 minut http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/blog-359530.html A day at the beachBeautiful view of Melbourne Ok so today even though its wasn't supposed to reach more than 67 degrees I decided to go to St. Kilda beach. I took the tram from the city and it took about 35 minutes. This is more of a touristy beach than anything but I just wanted to see the beach. There wasn't much to it. There was a nice view of the city but I wasn't impressed. After this I returned to the city to see Rialto to see the city http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/St-Kilda/blog-359127.html New Years Day Ok so when I woke today it was kind of weird to think that its not the new year at home. New Years Day here has been a crappy one. Its been over cast rainy windy and a high of 68. I still did some city exploring. I began at the Carlton gardens and made my way down past the melbourne museum. Then I took the tram over to the Flagstaff Gardens. From here I walked down to Flinders street and caught http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/blog-358884.html New Years Eve So its new years eve and I explored more of Melbourne. I began be taking a closer look at the public bathroom. When you go inside the sink is on the left and there is an automatic sensor for you sope water and dryer. On the left is the toilet and a button to flush and then near the door is a button to open the door. When you get in there after about an a minute a voice comes on and tells you to sh http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/blog-358670.html What a beautiful day Dec 30th 2008 Ok so all you subscribers recieved another email about my last blog again because I updated it. So if you aren't a subscriber and check daily I just updated a few pictures and the end of the text of the last blog. Today was another interesting day. I spent it with my friends Peter and Janna pronounced Yanna It started out with a brunch at CERES cafe. CERES stands for center for education and res http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/blog-358451.html Day two of exploring December 29th Today was a new day. On my walk to the tram I took a differnt route. On the route I saw this public restroom that looked very high tech. The door even looked like a space ship...kinda differnt. On the panel there was some writing. Look for that description under the picture in the caption. From here I took the tram to Collins street. I was originally looking for St. Michaels but didn't find that http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/Docklands/blog-358095.html
