so we took our last train ride today...which i had mixed feelings about. today was a really stressful day. we had to be up at 4 this morning to catch out 7:30 plane to milan from brussels. when we got to the train station in milan, we were told the only available train to rome was at 5pm.....we were in the station at 10am. so then we went to pu our luggage in storage and see the city but we werent able to do that for reasons i dont even want to begin talking about. so we had to sit in the train station all day. it was negative degrees inside the station and there is no food in there. talk about exciting. finally got to rome at 11pm...long day. we are going to see the ... read more

hiiiii.... i find it really strange when anonymous people i dont know write comments on my blog. i made this for friends and family at home who want to know where i am, not crazy people ive never met, with no lives ,who feel like commenting on what i have to say about my experiences....the end. OKAYYY...having that said.... were in brussels!!! we got here around 2 pm today and already feel at home. maria took us out to a xmas party at the house of a friend of hers...there were lots of kids there our age and it was so much fun to hang out with them and they taught us how to play snooker. they were all from brussels but go to school in england....so their english was perfect! we had a good time!after ... read more

i know i know....im sorry, its been a while. the computer access in italy SUCKS!! italians are rude rude people....thats all i have to say about that. BUT venice is a lovely little place. its a bit unrealistic...like disneyland...but its cute. the cinque terre was alot of fun. jack was sick so i walked around all the cities on my own but then i got sick in venice so he spent a day in venice on his own. we get to brussels tomorrow for the holidays with maria, we are so excited!!! (boo for night trians though) i cant believe were going home in a week. im excited to see my friends and family, but i dont want to leave. i love europe and i am going to miss this freedom alot. ... read more

so we went to pisa today to check out that famous tower....and it was pretty trippy. we had to walk across the entire city to get from the train station to the tower, and then when we got there we kept having to look down at the groud because when you look at the tower you feel like your spinning....kind of. anyways, definately not over-rated like some of the other cheesy european stuff weve seen. we had really yummy pizza last night....oh gosh im salvating thinking about it. the little italian guy made it in the stone over right in from of us and the crust was super thin but not really crispy like all the other pizza weve had, it was softer. and the cheese was so fresh and the tomato sauce....wow, im a creep. ... read more

we pretty tired today. we are both having tourble sleeping lately....i think i finally fell asleep around 4am. then we were up at 7 to get to the uffizi. there was some great artwork there! and they happened to be doing a huge exhibit on leonardo da vinci so they had borrow all kinds of his works from all over europe and put them on display. my favorite piece we saw today was the birth of venus by boticelli. the gallery wasnt as big as i was expecting it to be, but i guess the last two art museums ive been to have been the louvre and the prado and they are just as big as they get. well we wanted to take a quick nap before our next gallery but the hostel says we cant ... read more

today we just walked for hours. the city is so beautiful and clean!! all the buildings are so old and the cathedrals are huge. the duomo is so cool to see because it just kind of towers over the city so where ever you go you can see it. we went to the square where michelangelos david origionally stood before being put into the accademia gallery. we got reservations for the uffizi tomorrow at 8:30 am and then reservations for the accademia for 2pm, so our day tomomorrow will be full of art! this is probably the most expensive city weve been to. everything is rediculously priced, and theres no kitchen in the hostel so we cant cook for ourselves. the hostel is freezing too. its so cold outside, but there is no heat inside, so ... read more

so were here and it is BLOODY COLD!!!!!!!!! i dont even know the tempurature but i was having issues walking around with even my jacket on! florence is beautiful at night though, the big cathedral is all lit up and the dome is as well, and we have a really nice view from our hostel window. the hostel is a bit dodgy though. ohwell, were only here 4 nights including tonight. im excited to go to the uffizi gallery tomorrow, most of michalangelo and leanardos works are there.... and then were going to try and make it down to pisa to see the leaning tower the next day. i dont know when the next time ill be able to blog is becuase there is only 1 computer here in the hostel and i just waited and ... read more

we missed the sistene chapel again today, it had closed an hour before we got there. why it closed at 10am....i have no idea. but we are definately going to see it the last day of our trip, which we have in rome before we fly home. we had more pasta today and oh my gosh it was so good. our train leave in an hour so well be in florence around 6, yay!... read more

its getting cold here....in two dasy you canr eally feel the difference. yesterday we didnt see the pope, boo....it was pouring rain and they front desk guy didnt advise it. plus we didnt want to get sick for our last few weeks. instead we went to the vatican and the saint peters basilica...which was enormous. it was so cool the way its layed out too because you walk ing and there are like 30 different chapels on each side of the basilica. each one unique to a part of jesus life....its so cool. the very first chapel is the one that ahs michealangelos pieta, and i stared at it for half an hour im pretty sure. its amazing. after walking around the absilica for a few hours we saw the treasury, lots of gold cups...haha. we ... read more

I LOVE ROME!! we did SO much today....its unbelievavble. fist we walked to the colleseum, and i was mroe awestruck there than i have been ont he whole trip. we turned a corner and both jack and i dropped our jaws and stood still for like 2 minutes. its so crazy that we were seeing THE actual collesseum. its enormous!! then we walked down the street and saw all kinds of roman ruins where neros house used to be and stuff like that. its just so cool to see.
