| 25th July 2009 Michael | - From: Driving the Ring of Kerry, Ireland Wow! That is the most amazing hotel ever, I am well impressed with your hotel finding skills! I thought it looked special from the first photograph, and even more exceptional when your second photograph shows the true size of the place! Free chocolate sounds good :D |
| 25th July 2009 Michael | - From: Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle, and Kenmare, Ireland Blaaarg! World's germiest tourist attractions?!? Why would wanyone make a list like that? Imagine getting cooties from a rock. I'm glad you survived driving in Ireland, that roundabout does sound a nightmare to experience when you're just getting used to them. What was the near death experience though? Gorgeous pictures of the Rock of Cashel! |
| 22nd July 2009 Newquay | - From: Wading through the crowds in London, England you had a very long day but it is one- of- a- kind. even though the day's crazy, atleast, you're able to learn some travel tips such as carrying coins and stuff. goodluck on to your next travels and i will be looking forward on to your next blogs. |
| 21st July 2009 Michael | - From: Kilkenny, Ireland (and our first day driving in Ireland!) Wow! Denmore caves look astounding! You've taken some grand photos there. And it looks like you're going to have fish and chip withdrawals when you get home. Don't think I'll be able topost them. |
| 19th July 2009 Michael | - From: Belfast, Northern Ireland Awww, sorry to hear you had such troubles with the buses. Doesn't sound like they have it with newcomers in mind. Odd considering it's a touristy thing. The teeny tiny house puts me in mind of 'batteries not included'. |
| 18th July 2009 Michael | - From: Lake District, England Awwww, bless! The duck on the stone wall looks so sad :( Did you feel like falling asleep after managing an English Breakfast? I don't know how people manage to eat them first thing in the morning regularly. Must have given you plenty energy for a days exploring. Wray castle looks amazing! |
| 16th July 2009 notnem | Driving in Ireland - From: Dublin, Ireland The roads to Kilkenny are very good once you get to the M50, so it should be ok. Enjoy the trip, Kilkenny is a great city. |
| 15th July 2009 Michael | - From: Windermere, The Lake District, England Hahahahaha. You are going to be so tired of fish and chips by the end of the trip! The sheep are watching you, beware! Love the shot of your feet in Windermere :D |
| 14th July 2009 Michael | - From: Loch Ness, Highlands (and the Higland Coo), Scotland That's a long day of adventuring! And that is a very impressive coo. Irn Bru is made in Scotland from girders. What did you think to it? Very unusual taste I think. |
| 14th July 2009 Michael | - From: New Town and Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh You should hire locals to carry your luggage, it's what the English used to do when travelling abroad :) The Jekyll and Hyde pub looks cool! I think all the ones in England that were similar are slowly vanishing :( Did the toilets scream when you opened the door? I see your toilet obsession is in full swing again :D |
| 14th July 2009 Michael | - From: Portobello Market, Oxford St., St. Paul's Cathedral, and South Bank "can't even spell the pizza I had" Hahahahahahaha. Genius! I wouldn't dare go in the Primark there, especially not on a Saturday. You're a braver person than I. Must be the most fussed over cat in London if it's the only one there! Must be a happy cat! London's full of random nice architecture around most corners :) |
| 14th July 2009 Michael | - From: Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Warwick Castle Yay for Yorkshire Puddings! I'm sad to hear that much of the displays in Shakespeare's Birthplace were replicas. Warwick does look amazing though, love your photo of the stone arch in the river. |
| 30th June 2009 Michael | - From: Exploring London, one blister at a time Also, the English food looks a lot less appetising than your normal food pictures :( |
| 29th June 2009 Michael | - From: Exploring London, one blister at a time That was a lot to get explored in one day! Gazillions sounds right, they're like a zombie horde gathering outside the palace. Hurrah for Fish and Chips. Loved the historical grafitti photos :) |
| 28th June 2009 Michael | - From: London Calling WOW! The view from your hotel does look high up! That must have been a nightmare with the luggage! Love the Regent's Park photos, and your food photos make me hungry again! I've been to the Sherlock Holmes museum, it was pretty cool. I didn't notice those tiles on the underground station though. |
| 19th June 2009 ed-hardy | I like the beach, the sea... - From: South Beach, Home of the Tanned and Topless ed hardy buy ed hardy cheap ed hardy |
| 8th January 2009 holidayparkhotel | glad you made your stop - From: Fort Lauderdale, a place for good food and cheap t-shirts Hi! Fort Lauderdale is very persistent in maintaining its tourism industry strong. I see that you have a very strong followers here and I am glad you stopped by to write about Fort Lauderdale. Hotels in Fort Lauderdale are aiming for cheaper rates that provides great and comfortable stay while vacationing. I hope you will come visit us again soon. |
| 5th November 2008 Michael | - From: 2nd Day in Machu Picchu YAY! You look so happy to be there! That's a great shot of you by the edge, were you not nervous? I really like the photo of the little red flowers amidst the stones, that must have stood out. The alpacas look strangely at home at such a height. And so lucky to live in such a place! And the veggie enchiladas are making me hungry. Mmmm. |
| 5th November 2008 Michael | - From: Overdoing the ĻaguaĻ in Aguas Calientes Ooooh, the hummingbirds are so pretty. How close did you manage to get to them? The butterflies are very colourful too. And such beautiful photos of waterfalls. I love waterfalls, I have never seen any as spectacular as them though. They must have roared. |
| 5th November 2008 Michael | - From: Machu Picchu- we have arrived!!! Wow. Macchu Picchu looks incredible with the clouds/mists all around. They are such fantastic photos of such incredible views, I am so jealous! It looks kinda weird with all the grass topped stone steps. I love the shot framed through the doorway, and all the nooks and crannies you managed to photograph. Am very impressed by the butterfly photo, you must have been very careful not to spook it. The inca Kola looks an unappetising colour, but the pasta does look good. |
| 30th October 2008 Michael | - From: Alpacas, (Overpriced) Pisac Market, and Ollantaytambo Awwww, the baby alpaca is so cute and fluffy! You so should have stolen it! The sweet potato quiche looks tasty and the views of the sacred valley are awesome! |
| 30th October 2008 Michael | - From: Pre-Inca archaeology and more of Cusco Love the pictures of the cool doors, did you try knocking on any of them to see what would happen? How odd it seems to see people wandering the streets with Alpaca like people would here with dogs! That's a very comfortable looking kitty :D |
| 23rd October 2008 Linda Aubery | Great pictures! - From: Dodging Bird Poop at Ballestas Islands Jennifer, your Mom gave me the address to read about your latest adventure. I do so enjoy reading and seeing the experience through your eyes. Heard your Dad isn't feeling very well. I hope you all had a great vacation and will continue to be my tour guide via the net. |
| 20th October 2008 Michael | - From: Enjoying the altitude in Cusco Wow. Cusco Cathedral looks amazing, your night-shots of it are beautiful. Such a shame you couldn't take photos inside. You're so lucky getting to tour all those exciting sites! The dinner looks exceedingly yellow, I'm glad to hear it tasted better than it looks :D |
| 20th October 2008 Michael | - From: Touring Lima (Mirflores, Lima Centro, San Isidro, Larcomar) Yay! Photographs! That's so weird showing the pyramid in the centre of Lima and in the background right next to it is all the skyscrapers. And once again you've taken such beautiful photos of all the architecture :D I like the bull sculptures, they remind me of pinata. |
| 10th October 2008 Michael | - From: 2nd Day in Machu Picchu Hurrah for your timing, that was lucky with the rain! And such alot of steps to go up! *phew* Glad you survived that! Hurray for Mexican food :D Hope you had a safe flight to Puerto Maldonado! |
| 10th October 2008 Michael | - From: Overdoing the ĻaguaĻ in Aguas Calientes Oooh. It'll be fascinating to see your hummingbird photos, only ever seen them in nature documentaries. Were they noisy to be near? Hope you managed to get some rainy day specials. |
| 7th October 2008 Michael | - From: Machu Picchu- we have arrived!!! Oooh, really can't wait to see your photos of Machu Picchu, the places you visited sound fascinating. Photos from pisco hour sound like they may be good too! Hope the buses are running so you get to explore more of Machu Picchu and take more of your fantastic photos! |
| 7th October 2008 Michael | - From: Alpacas, (Overpriced) Pisac Market, and Ollantaytambo Awwww, I wonder how Calvin would have responded to having an Alpaca as a brother? Hurrah for going up lots of steps! You must have got some fantastic views from up there. Bizarre to think that once the villages surrounded holy places and now surround football pitches. |
| 7th October 2008 Michael | - From: Pre-Inca archaeology and more of Cusco Hahaha. Wondered how long it would be before your toilet obsession resurfaced :D Sounds very tiring having to deal with all the sellers, maybe if you walked away for long enough saying no you'd eventually be offered the entirety of Peru for free? Having vegetarian food does sound like the sensible choice. :D Doesn't sound like the best hotel ever for getting a night's sleep. |
| 7th October 2008 Katie | RE: Just Wondering... - From: Pre-Inca archaeology and more of Cusco Oh, so are the two other people just your friends? |
| 6th October 2008 Jen C | - From: Pre-Inca archaeology and more of Cusco Hi! Iīm just with two other people, but all of our tours have been through Condor Travel, who seem to be leading most of the tour groups in Peru. You might want to check with them and maybe they can look up his name and see where he is? They have a website (www.condortravel.com). Hope you find him! |
| 6th October 2008 Michael | - From: Enjoying the altitude in Cusco Were the guinea-pigs being eaten in fancy dress? You have to try it now! I mean, if it's good enough for Christ. . . Sounds like you're getting to see some right sights, cannot wait to see your photos. Like the description of Puco Pucaro, everywhere I go invariably ends up mainly being stairs. |
| 6th October 2008 Michael | - From: Touring Lima (Mirflores, Lima Centro, San Isidro, Larcomar) That's funny you were thinking about how much like Atlantic City it was and then the 'Atlantic City' casino pops up :D Sounds like a bargain place for eating! Possibly because you're unlikely to keep it zooming around in the traffic! I'd definitely stick to buses, they're sturdier. |
| 6th October 2008 Michael | Yay! - From: Arriving in Lima Hahaha, could have been exciting ending up on someone else's holiday at random if you chose the wrong tour company! Thank goodness he did recognise you. Certainly an exciting start to the holiday having a daredevil taxi ride! |
| 5th October 2008 Katie | Just Wondering... - From: Pre-Inca archaeology and more of Cusco One of my friends just left for a Peru trip a few days ago. And i'm unsure of how to get in contact with him. He doesn't even have a blog or anything letting people know what he does all day. And I don't even think he's touched a computer. So I was wondering how many people are with you in the group you're in, and what they're names are? (In hopes that atleast reading what you do all day will give me a vibe of what he's doing...) He's traveling by himself though, if that narrows it down for you. |
| 17th May 2008 Michael | - From: Walking Tour of St. Louis Cemetery #1 and the French Quarter Wow! For once your food didn't make me hungry! You're a braver person than me for trying the jambalaya. St Louis cathedral looks gorgeous and the tombs in Cemtery #1 look curiously lived in. So sad your adventures and the blog had to come to an end! |
| 17th May 2008 Michael | - From: Enjoying the scenery, music, and food of the French Quarter Is that powdered sugar on the beignets? That must certainly have got you awake and full of energy for the day! Is is just me, or did you think the French Quarter looked less French than the Spanish areas you've visited looked Spanish (Does that make sense?) The Quesadilla looked tasty and I liked the brick fireplace in Laffite's Blacksmith Shop. |
| 16th May 2008 Jen C | - From: Pensacola Naval aviation museum and lighthouse I know! I could have stared out at that water all day! |
| 16th May 2008 Jen C | - From: Soaking up the spring humidity in the Big Easy Yeah, I certainly wouldn't want to do anything too grown up! =D |
| 16th May 2008 Jen C | - From: New Orleans: Drunks, Pirates, and Brad and Angelina Of course I went to Marie Laveau's! And I got you something from there too! =D |
| 13th May 2008 Michael | - From: New Orleans: Drunks, Pirates, and Brad and Angelina ohhh, those photos of Lafayette #1 are beautiful, that's one of the places on my list. Hahahaha, like the reasoning on losing the money gambling :D The hotel room looks cool with the brick wall, and more tasty food. mmm. And I love that picture of the church with the shadow cast upon it, that's amazing. Oooh, did you go in Marie Laveau's, that looks an exceedingly exciting store. |
| 13th May 2008 Michael | - From: Soaking up the spring humidity in the Big Easy I love the pictures of Bourbon Street all lit up by the neon signs, they're great. And well done for managing to leave the casino while ahead, I'm glad you went back though, it'd have been far too grown up to leave with a complete profit :D |
| 13th May 2008 Michael | - From: Pensacola Naval aviation museum and lighthouse Wow, that looks like the kind of beach you never see in real life. The museum looks fantastic with all the different aircraft at all different angles all around you! |
| 13th May 2008 RC/GC | Final Entry - From: Walking Tour of St. Louis Cemetery #1 and the French Quarter We've enjoyed following along with your journey. You never got your alligator. Actually, it probably tastes a lot like crocodile, which isn't too bad. Perhaps your next visit... call us when you land. |
| 12th May 2008 RC/GC | New Comment - From: Enjoying the scenery, music, and food of the French Quarter Just as we finished our comment of your 5/10 blog, up popped your entry for today. Sounds like they are trying to gouge the tourists with all the extra fees. Were there many people there? It was hot & humid when we were there. I wonder if they ever have good weather? There are storms in Atlanta, Oklahoma areas. Hopefully there aren't any headed your way.... |
| 12th May 2008 RC/GC | Impressive - From: New Orleans: Drunks, Pirates, and Brad and Angelina The cemetary was quite impressive, more so than Brad & Angelina's house. The two on the escalator looked familiar. Apparently there was a mirrored ceiling? The room also looks nice, probably quiet with the brick wall. It is good that you are close to the action. |
| 12th May 2008 Michael | - From: The long, boring (but green!) road to Pensacola Did you stay to hear the clock bell ring? I notice you had some Margarita left when your food arrived this time :D Heeheehee. |
| 11th May 2008 Michael | - From: From the world's biggest McDonald's to the Tallahassee capitol Wow! That's a massive McDonalds, and a massive looking tasty waffle. You're certainly getting to see some glorious buildings on your travels. Is it the Liberty Bell that has a massive crack in it? Or am I getting my famous bells confused. The children's statues look the kind that would dance on an evening when no-one was watching before returning to their place. |
| 11th May 2008 Michael | - From: Dodging the toll road to Kissimmee The original courthouse certainly does look the more impressive a building, why would they ever choose to move to a different building? Hurrah for pictures of squirrels, I love squirrels. And hurrah for desserts, it looks scrummy. Yumyumyum. |
| 10th May 2008 RC/GC | Depressing - From: Soaking up the spring humidity in the Big Easy I have heard from other people that a trip to New Orleans environs is quite depressing after Katrina. Figures that the rich would have already rebuilt their houses & the poor.... what can I say. I seem to remember driving by the Jefferson Davis house when we were in Miss. Thanks for the card. |
| 9th May 2008 RC/GC | Lighthouse - From: Pensacola Naval aviation museum and lighthouse The lighthouse was beautiful. Bet you are disappointed that you didn't get to climb to the top. Yeah, right! You must have enjoyed the museum since you took so many pictures. Enjoy your stay in New Orleans. |
| 8th May 2008 Jen C | - From: The long, boring (but green!) road to Pensacola Yeah, it took some convincing. We actually passed quite a few big antique malls but that was the first we've stopped at. He did enjoy looking at the old photos and postcards, so hopefully I'll get him into one or two more before the trip is over! |
| 8th May 2008 RC/GC | Antique Store - From: The long, boring (but green!) road to Pensacola Wow, you actually got Chris into an antique store? Wish I could have been there.... I don't remember going to any antique stores when we were on our trip in 1983. Pensacola looks like an interesting city. Dinner looked good. Now we are hungry, but it is time for bed... |
| 7th May 2008 Jen C | - From: Dodging the toll road to Kissimmee Thanks for the Alabama tips! I'm not sure what we'll end up doing yet. We might stay a day in Biloxi, Mississippi since it's right in the middle of Mobile and New Orleans. Yep, and I think we ate at more than one Friendly's if I remember right. The free dessert was definitely the best part! |
| 7th May 2008 Jen C | - From: From the world's biggest McDonald's to the Tallahassee capitol I do like the architecture of the old capitol buildings...the newer looking ones are pretty boring in comparison. Yep, I remembered eating at that Cracker Barrel (and I think I ordered the exact same thing!). We missed the Everglades because it fell in the middle of our trying to get out of the expensive part of Florida. I was hoping to find something similar up this way, but no luck so far. Maybe we'll come across something on the way across the top. I know...hopefully Peru won't go by so quickly! |

| 7th May 2008 RC/GC | Ha,Ha,Ha - From: From the world's biggest McDonald's to the Tallahassee capitol We actually toured both old & new capitol bldgs. in Tallahassee in l983. I know how much you loooove capitols. By the way, Mickey Spillane is an author of "Mike Hammer" books (suspense novels.) He is the original "Pulp Fiction" style writer. I love Cracker Barrel Restaurants. We used to have those here as well. Saw one in Arizona but never ate there. You & I ate at one in Columbia, PA. Are you still going to The Everglades? Can't believe you have been on your vacation one week today. Time does fly..... |
| 6th May 2008 RC/GC | Friendlys - From: Dodging the toll road to Kissimmee Didn't we eat at a Friendlys in Concord, Mass? I remember the dessert. When we were in Alabama in 1983 we went to the Bellingraph Gardens & Home (Coca Cola home.) Also Battleship Park where we saw the USS Drum submarine & USS Alabama. I also understand that Montgomery is a great place to visit (according to one of our teachers who is from there.) I sent an e-mail yesterday so please check your mail. The buildings you saw are interesting, right up my alley. |
| 5th May 2008 Jen C | - From: Fort Lauderdale, a place for good food and cheap t-shirts Hee hee...yes, dessert for breakfast is the best! Yeah, I had high hopes for finding some sort of treasure at the Swap Shop...maybe we just got there too late. Ah well, at least I saved some money! |
| 5th May 2008 Jen C | - From: Fort Lauderdale, a place for good food and cheap t-shirts Hahaha...we're going back to Dunkin Donuts today! It's the cheapest and better than McD's at least. I'll have to look up who Mickey Spillanish is now! |
| 5th May 2008 MIchael | - From: Fort Lauderdale, a place for good food and cheap t-shirts Dessert for breakfast, a sure sign it's a holiday! Being a grown-up is great because people can't tell you not to do things like that. Th Swap-Shop looks like it could have been an ace place to snoop around, it is a shame it was mainly knock-off goods. But you're blogs continue to make me hungry with all the tasty food you eat on your travels :D |
| 5th May 2008 RC/GC | New Horizons - From: Fort Lauderdale, a place for good food and cheap t-shirts Glad to see you branched from Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. The French toast looked yummy. So did dinner. RC says your writing is very interesting sort of Mickey Spillanish (sp). All you need is a dame & a PI with a trench coat. |
| 5th May 2008 Jen C | - From: The Florida Keys...So This Is What They Mean By "Vacation" They didn't sell fried green tomatoes! Although I'm not sure I would have been brave enough to try them if they had. And yes, it is very blue here! In South Florida anyway...it's right across from the Bahamas! |
| 5th May 2008 Jen C | - From: South Beach, Home of the Tanned and Topless It felt very Spanish to me, which is funny since I've never been to Spain! hahaha |
| 5th May 2008 Jen C | - From: South Beach, Home of the Tanned and Topless No, no paddling or wave jumping. I'm a bit afraid of the water (there are sharks out there!), but the sand is certainly wonderful for walking/running on. Hee hee...yes, that margarita was yummy (and more expensive than my food!) |
| 4th May 2008 Michael | - From: The Florida Keys...So This Is What They Mean By "Vacation" Florida looks very blue, and the grilled cheese looks very nice. Disappointed you didn't have Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Bar and Grill :D Looks like you're having a fantastic and relaxing time with all the laid back feet shots, they makeme chuckle. Hurrah! |
| 4th May 2008 Michael | P.S. - From: South Beach, Home of the Tanned and Topless Meant to say that Espanola Way does look very like the holiday villa style you get in Spain. |
| 4th May 2008 Michael | - From: South Beach, Home of the Tanned and Topless Did you go for a paddle and jumping waves? They look like marvellous sandy beaches for running around on, English beaches are full of pebbles. I notice the Margarita was nearly all gone before you even started on the meal! Hahahaha. It looks colourful and tasty though. |
| 4th May 2008 Jen C | - From: The Florida Keys...So This Is What They Mean By "Vacation" Yeah, it's probably good we don't have Dunkin Donuts! I get a breakfast sandwich (eggs & cheese) every morning so at least that's a little better than the donuts! |
| 4th May 2008 RC/GC | Dunkin Donuts - From: The Florida Keys...So This Is What They Mean By "Vacation" They used to have Dunkin Donuts in CA. Not sure why they left... Boy, all those carbs... Guess you'll be back on the South Beach Diet when you get home. Sorry to hear about the traffic & mosquitoes. Guess that is all a part of the Florida scene. Your Motel room looked quite spacious. Enjoyed the sunset pictures and recognized the shoes. |
| 3rd May 2008 Jen C | - From: South Beach, Home of the Tanned and Topless Hahaha...probably not! Yep, we ate outside. The whole street reminded me of Europe (I think it was supposed to be like a little Spain), which was probably what drew me to it. There were also a lot of Europeans staying in the area too...it probably reminded them of home! |
| 3rd May 2008 RC/GC | Second Attempt - From: South Beach, Home of the Tanned and Topless I think someone else got our comment on their blog. It came up on the screen "error." They are probably wondering about the topless beach comment. Oh well, did Chris see the beautiful beaches past the topless sunbathers? The restaurant looked good. Did you eat outside? So far your trip seems to be going well. Hope it continues. |
| 2nd May 2008 Jen C | - From: Miami to Coral Castle, then back to Miami again Yes, it was a perfect day for exploring, and what a perfect place to explore! |
| 2nd May 2008 Jen C | - From: Miami to Coral Castle, then back to Miami again Yes, the weather has been perfect so far! Although Miami Beach is terribly windy. I thought I was in Chicago for a second! No, the car isn't ugly, just too big. And it's almost impossible to see out of the side or back windows so you have to rely on the mirrors. I've gotten used to it though! |
| 2nd May 2008 Michael | - From: Miami to Coral Castle, then back to Miami again WOW! Those are magnificent photos you've taken of Coral Castle, it looks like a fantastic place to explore, and such a glorious day for exploring! I had a square pizza for the first time last week. It's hip to be square! |
| 2nd May 2008 RC/GC | Interesting - From: Miami to Coral Castle, then back to Miami again The castle definitely looked fascinating. Also looks like you are having great weather. By the way, we don't think your vehicle is ugly... |
| 2nd May 2008 Jen C | - From: Next stop...Florida! Hee hee...I'm sure it will be nice and dirty by the time we return it! =D |
| 1st May 2008 Michael | - From: Four...three...two...one...Kennedy Space Center! Wow, that place looks so cool. Like being in a Bond villain's hideout, complete with vultures outside to be fed to! Glad to hear you survived the motel. |
| 1st May 2008 Michael | - From: Next stop...Florida! Ooooooooh, Dinner looks tasty. I'm wanting mexican now. Thats a HUGE vehicle. It doesn't look right being so clean either, you need to run through some puddles to get some mud splatters going. Looking forward to following your adventures again :D |
| 1st May 2008 Jen C | - From: Four...three...two...one...Kennedy Space Center! Oops...thanks for the spelling correction! Fortunately it was quiet all night after all. I guess we got the "good" side of the motel, although the inside of the rooms leave something to be desired as well. Guess you get what you pay for! |
| 1st May 2008 RC/GC | Motel 6 - From: Four...three...two...one...Kennedy Space Center! Not surprised about Motel 6. I told you about our experience in Scottsdale. However, hope you have a good night. We're enjoying your blog. Glad to see the new astronaut.... By the way this is the correct spelling for vulture. |
| 30th April 2008 RC/GC | Off to a great start - From: Next stop...Florida! Jen, Looks like your adventure is off to a great start. Lookking forward to following along each day. RC/GC |
| 16th July 2007 Michael | - From: Old Town, the Jewish Quarter, and Crawling Babies on TV Towers The Jewish cemetery is beautiful with all the gravestones cropping up in all directions, and the Astronomical Clock looks amazing! it's kind of sad that we don't really construct such beautiful architecture anymore. (The babies are VERY creepy) |
| 21st June 2007 Michael | I like the title of your blog! - From: Warsaw Downpours and Uprisings Awww, sorry to hear the end of your trip was clouded by rainstorms, sounds like it was pretty bad. That sounds like a fantastic museum, I had no idea that Warsaw was so destroyed during the war. That really does sound like an epic victory. Sounds like you had a very scrummy tea to recover from the rain. It's so sad your adventures for this trip are coming to an end, they made for a fantastic read. |
| 20th June 2007 Michael | - From: Train rides and the Swallows of Krakow Yurk, that's very gross about the toilets. But that is so brilliant on the next train journey getting serenaded with 'Wanted: Dead or Alive'! Hahahahaha! Oooh, that sounds fantastic with the swallows swooping through the square, and very lucky indeed not to be pooped on! The Tort Anglieken sounds absolutely gorgeous, and very worth eating to the point of being sick! It's the only way to approach cakes :D |
| 20th June 2007 Michael | - From: Naked Guys and the Bone Church Heeheehee, it certainly sounds like you're seeing all kinds of sights on your trips! Am so happy to hear the bone church was every bit as beautiful and mysterious as it sounded. I cannot wait to see your photos of that especially! Sounds like you had some pretty unusual food combinations in the evening! Sorry to hear you weren't able to try a last Palacinky before leaving the country. |
| 16th June 2007 Michael | - From: Old Town, the Jewish Quarter, and Crawling Babies on TV Towers It's such a shame there are so many churches that won't allow you to take photographs, I'm sure you could have taken some amazing pictures. It's fascinating to hear about the brutal history of all these places you're passing through. It's awful that all the Jews had to be buried in such a cramped little graveyard, but it must be a sight to see. Wow! I never knew there was an actual Rabbi who made the Golem and had a grave! *shudders* The babies on the tv tower sound kinda frightening. Sorry to hear the bad weather is finally catching up with you, but at least there's plenty of delicious food to warm you up :) Hope you had good weather for Kutna Hora |
| 15th June 2007 Michael | - From: Tour of Mala Strana (or "The Day I Found Chico, the Wax Baby Jesus, Palacincky, and the John Lennon Wall") Awwwww! I can't wait to see Chico! That sounds so weird and incredibly fascinating with the wax baby Jesus. Yay! Am glad you managed to try a Palacincky, it does sound gorgeous. And what a fortuitous discovery of the John Lennon wall! It's great you're having such luck in your wanderings managing to find places. Hahahahahaha! You are soooo tempting fate with that statue! |
| 14th June 2007 Michael | - From: Castles, Clocks and Yummy Czech food It sounds like you're seeing some stunning architecture while you're there, I'm very jealous and looking forward to the photos so much! Yay, I'm glad you got to see a full clock show. I like the idea of the crowd suddenly appearing as noon approaches and then just as suddenly leaving after applauding. :D That sounds like a very handy menu for a restaurant to have indeed, hope you manage to try the Palacinky, (sounds tasty) and that the weather holds for your walking. |
| 11th June 2007 Michael | - From: Last day in Vienna Awww, the turle sounds adorable. I can't believe you didn't RUSH right into the Sharon Stone cafe! Heeheehee. Nor can I believe you are spying on blokes in toilets :O But YAY you found a good mexican restaurant! :) It sounds with each blog that you're building a stunning collection of pictures. I hope Prague is as enjoyable as Vienna and you have a good journey there and your luck with the weather holds. |
| 11th June 2007 Michael | - From: Flea Markets, Imperial Apts, and St. Stephan's Cathedral Heeheehee, good thinking on the wine front! Sorry to hear you got sunburn :( Ahh, being stabbed with a file is a horrid way to die. What kind of assasin kills with a file? It sounds like you're getting to try a great selection of foods over there, your blogs always leave me feeling hungry with your descriptions. Tirimisu and nutella icecream sounds gorgeous. Vienniesse(Vieniese?) chocolates sound exciting. It sounds like it's been a very tiring day with all those stairs and walks! |
| 10th June 2007 Michael | - From: Lippanzers, Strauss, and the Giant Ferris Wheel Hahaha, that's funny about having to wait so long to try get a photo of the statue without it being populated by strangers :D (Although it was probably frustrating at the time, sorry for laughing). Oooh, a theatre full of Klimt murals sounds eyecatching. Wow! That must be one of the oldest running Ferris Wheels in the world, that must have been a really impressive sight to see it still running! Sorry your wine plans were frustrated. |
| 9th June 2007 Michael | - From: Day 2 in Vienna Wow! That sounds a marvellous palace with so many rooms in it! I can't imagine a place with 41 rooms let alone 1440! It made me chuckle imagining you being dropped off by the bus amongst other buses and just standing around looking baffled as to why you've been brought to see more buses! Very happy to see the notes are coming in very handy when you went to the best falafel place in town. I love the little details in your blogs and the descriptions of all the foods you try. The Shockobanane sounds scrummy. Mmmmm. |
| 8th June 2007 Michael | - From: Dazed and confused in Vienna Heeheehee, sounds like a fun flight over with the woman laying on the floor to sleep! It's true that it's not a proper holiday without getting lost at least once :) I'm glad the weather's turned nice for you to explore Vienna, and a big hurrah for daily updates. It's fantastic to read along as you explore! |
| 6th June 2007 Michael | Yay! - From: Leaving on a jet plane... Can't wait to see your first comment from Europe! Hope you had a safe flight. |
