We have worked with Russell Crowe, Brooke Shields, Wanda Sykes, William Hurt and Daryl Hannah just to name a few!

We have 5 children between us and 10 grandchildren.

Randy and I spend a lot of our time traveling, hiking and working in the movies!

In 2009, during our Blue Ridge Parkway trip, we attended a Meet & Greet and met a bunch of great people we had previously known only from the RVUSA Website forums. Since our first gathering, several of us have formed "The Gang" on SKYPE and can keep in touch between 7 pm and 10 pm nightly, as our schedules allow. The first Meet & Greet was such a huge success, lots of food, folks and fun. So much, we had immediately planned another one for following year and we were all anxious to see if our little gathering would grow. For this year's Meet & Greet, Rod, one of our RV friends and one of "The Gang", proposed several dates until October 1st through October 3rd was agreed on. That was two weeks earlier than last ... read more

June 27th 2010

On Thursday, June 10th, 2010, we left Baton Rouge and programmed our Garmin to take us to Disney World in Florida. We were celebrating our grandson, Landan's 7th birthday and our daughter, Kim's 25th! Wow Kim~a quarter of a century ...! Our family had visited Disney World during the park's 20th anniversary back in the nineteen hundreds, no seriously, we went in 1991 when my children were 4 and 5 1/2. I had heard things had changed since then. The thing I remembered most was the HEAT, but I was pretty sure that had not changed. It was August when we made that first trip to Disney World and I didn't think June was going to be any cooler. But nevertheless, the dates were chosen, plans were made, reservations secured and we were Disney bound. Randy, ... read more

In October of 2009, Randy and I were fortunate to be able to take off for a week and a half, to travel the Blue Ridge Parkway and see the Fall foliage. We have family in Charlotte, North Carolina, and wanted to spend a couple of days with them while in their area. Prior to our planned departure, I happened to notice a particular post on the RVUSA.com forum, about a Meet & Greet that was being planned for the weekend of October 16th, 17th & 18th in Bedford, Virginia, just east of Roanoke. I posted back regarding the Meet & Greet and we were invited to join in on the fun. After some discussion Randy and I decided we could leave on the 14th of October, drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Bedford, spend ... read more

We started our 3 week vacation to Yellowstone National Park on Thursday, May 28th, 2009. Our route will take us up I-49 North into Arkansas, then US Hwy 71 until we catch I-29 which will take us as far north as we will go. Then in Fargo, ND we will take I-94 west to the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. At approximately 9 am we departed from our home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We spent several weeks researching our trip route and plans for Yellowstone National Park and about a week packing and shopping. Having been to Yellowstone in 2000, we were able to see only part of the park as it is so massive and at that time we were in a rented RV. We started out I-10 west and then north on I-49 ... read more

Happy Mardi Gras from Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville, LA! We started out Friday after picking our grandson up from school and were on the interstate by 3:10, which is well ahead of the normal east bound traffic out of Baton Rouge on a Friday afternoon. We arrived at the Fontainebleau gates just before 5:00 and got our RV set up and hooked up well before dark. Our campsite was not my first choice but unfortunately, by the time we realized we could take a 4 day weekend, this was the only spot left to reserve. So we took it. Actually after surveying some of the other sites, ours wasn't the worst. It is in the old part of the park and there is a much newer campground area where we usually camp. Since we'd decided ... read more

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Traditionally, our family including me, ALWAYS has the Ham, Black Eyed Peas, Cabbage and Coleslaw for New Year's Day. This was the first New Year I deviated from the norm. However, we were fortunate enough to be able to escape for 4 days over the New Year weekend. We packed up Woody, our dog, and left about 11:00 AM on New Year's Day and headed east toward Mississippi. Even though the Natchez Trace Parkway is one of our favorite trips in Mississippi, we rarely travel east on I-10 much anymore. Since we are in Louisiana, east only gets us to Mississippi, Alabama or Florida, unless of course we head north from either of those states. We have done those states to death. However, Mississippi has the greatest State Parks so Randy was thrilled ... read more

This Christmas season we longed for a visit to Natchitoches, Louisiana to see the annual Festival of Lights but due to circumstances, we were unable to pull off the trip as we had originally planned. A couple of weeks after our original plan fell through, one of my closest friend's mom died and we hurriedly made plans to head north to Jonesville, LA for her funeral. The local weather had been predicting sleet/snow for our Baton Rouge area (which rarely materializes) on Thursday and Ms. Nita's service also would be on Thursday so we decided the thing to do would be to throw a few things in the RV and head on to Jonesville on Wednesday afternoon just in case we did receive some rainy or bad weather. So the work began, getting things packed and ... read more

Day 1, or should I say Day 3 and counting down, until Hurricane Gustav slams into the Louisiana coast.  We are in Baton Rouge which is about 75 miles from the coast and expect damaging winds, torrential rains, major power outages and possible structural damages to our homes and vehicles.  Whew, this is a big one!  Winds are up to 145 mph and strengthening.  They forecast it to impact our area by Monday evening through Tuesday.  Throughout the last 3 days Randy and I have been preparing.  We have purchased the canned and packaged foods, batteries, bottled water; we've secured all of the outdoor things.  We are leaving my outside ferns and things until tomorrow so they are not in the dark too long.  We have 2 elderly parents, Randy's mom who is in a nursing ... read more

Our 2008 vacation we are planning to head out west again to see as many of the Utah National Parks as we can. After leaving Baton Rouge around 10 am on Saturday, May 10th, we want to go through Little Rock, AR to visit Viki and Bill. They are some long time friends that moved back to Arkansas years ago. We get up there to see them when we can and they come south to Louisiana whenever they can. We haven’t made it there since 2000. This will be the first time they have seen our RV. We took Hwy. 65 north out of Louisiana in order to enjoy the scenery and adjust to a slower pace. We had a nice, but slow at times, trip into Arkansas and took I-530 toward Little Rock. Viki and ... read more

We arrived at Trailer Village on Monday June 4th 2007 and headed straight to the Permit Office arriving there around 4 pm. We told the ranger that although we knew the possibility of getting a campsite at Bright Angel Campground might be slim, we were hoping to get lucky. He typed on his computer and then asked "How many nights?". We were ecstatic and told him just one. In hindsight, I wish we had opted for 2, but who knew at the time. We left with our permit and we were on Cloud 9! We got up at 5 am and caught the shuttle to the South Kaibab Trail and hit the trailhead about 5:30 am. It was just getting light as we started our descent and FREEZING. We started our hike in flannel shirts ... read more
