OMG
How brave of you. 3 to 6 months...how does one plan the expense of a vacation that may last 3 months longer than expected...this is fascinating. I know I will never get to see the world but getting to see the sights from home is more than fun. Fill us in on the crummy discoveries as well as the amazing ones...everyplace has the "worse than I expected" aspect. Just shrink this planet down to size...enjoy and report...

Hi Jeanette, It's your new buddies from Chiang Mai. The name of the temple we visited by horse carriage was Wiang Kook Kam. During the Burmese rule in (1558-1774A.D.) the Ping River had changed direction and the city was destroyed by great floods and buried. Here's a link that has some cool pics: http://phatdanai.multiply.com/photos/album/10#3 Sawadee Krup Jim, May and Jake

Green with envy
Nothing like a wonderful travel blog to make those of married folks with infants just a little jealous missy footloose and fancy free. The adventure is in getting lost and finding the unexpected. Good news is that Miles hasn't burned your house down yet (oops, was I suppose to let you know about the ginourmous late night bonfires and general revelry??? - just joking). Be safe and look forward to hearing more. Jenn
