| 20th January 2006 sansu | Interesting - From: Arabic Lessons Hi Brad, I was searching all over the internet for arabic forums then came across your travel blog. I found it to be helpful. I myself am teaching myself arabic. It is quite distressing but I'm slowly getting over the "shock". I do mental exercises by just "reading" or "looking" at the arabic writing & getting used to the script. Then I study vocabulary words & memorize the sound (translated phonetically). Then I'll study the details entirely separate so that I don't get confused & overwhelmed. I studied french (i think u did too?) & it was definitely much easier. Alors tu n'es pas le lapin? peut-etre tu es le grenouille hihihi :) |

| 15th November 2004 anonymous | Snail - From: S.M. Mohammad VI So here is my question. When ingesting these snails do you leave them in their shells and shuck them out like oysters or is more a stew type dish wherein you cook em up with some carrots and a little beef broth? I have snails in my garden, can I eat those or are they like mushrooms one snail makes you larger, one snail makes you small and the snails that mother gives you, don't do anything at all. Ask Bradford. |
| 11th November 2004 anonymous | Hello - From: S.M. Mohammad VI Hi Brad, This is Cheryl Wells. I attended the French Meetup at the Galleria. I'm the one who travelled to Kenya last year. I'm really enjoying reading your journals. I started an Arabic class in September and am really enjoying it. It's a lanquage totally different from English, but I find it very enjoyable. All the best on your stay in Morocco. |
| 3rd November 2004 anonymous | US Elections from and Overseas Perspective - From: Moroccan Public Radio Brad The Moroccan/ French perspective on the world in general and elections in particular is most interesting. It's probably difficult for them to understand these things aren't an exercise in US showmanship with predetermined outcomes. And forget trying to explain the Electoral College! Interesting stuff indeed. Chuck Stout |

Grub on some papya before you leave and you might get lucky if a bull fight is town. I hope you get to africa and out of europe hell soon. I want to hear bout that shiiizal. PEace J |
| 18th October 2004 anonymous | Lagos is tight - From: Sintra and Lagos I remember Lagos...Just cause I have pictures. The women there are fine and agressive. I think I got raped by one. I would try to tell you where to go, but those damn streets are tiny and confusing. Have fun and hook up PEace, J |
| 13th October 2004 anonymous | Lisbon is a great place...from someone who's been there... - From: Lisbon Portugal Hi Brad, just read your blog on Lisbon. I agree with you on the city it's wonderfull and cities in Europe do have something about them which US cities can't touch. I live in the US but I've been to Lisbon so many times over the years due to the fact that my parents are Portuguese, I have family there and I've lived there before. I'm glad to see you enjoying yourself. Try out the Bairro Alto section at night possibly. You can go to a nice Fado bar and listen to some great "Fadistas" singing about their lost sailors at sea or some other sad affair. You mentioned "tasting" Portugal and I can't agree with you more. I've grown up on that stuff and I love it. I've got withdrawls symptoms now too because I'm in China on business and the food here is entirely a different thing. If you like wine, please do yourself a favor and try out the table wines with your meals. At good local restaurants it won't cost you that much. And if you want to treat yourself, try some Vinho do Porto (Port Wine). For me it's one of my favorite drinks. Check out the elevator, Santa Justa near Rua Santa Clara. All the monuments are a must...Torre de Belem and Padrao dos Descobrimentos. If you are into nightlife there are probably some good places to go to at Docas which is located just under the Ponte 25 de Abril (April 25 Bridge). Enjoy yourself... This blog seems pretty cool. I'm going to join and post some pics and comments on China. Ate logo, boa sorte... Pedro |
