I JUST bought Monty Python and the Holy Grail like 2 days ago! - From: The Quest for the Holy Grail
I will now proceed to repeat some of their more oft-repeated quotes: "Run away, run away!" "Ni!" "You must bring me... a shrubbery!" "What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?" "Then the oral sex!" God, I can't wait to watch that movie!

I'm showing this post to my dad! - From: The City That NEVER Sleeps
He'll get such a kick out of it and be happy you guys made it to the places he recommended. Really, I think out of all the places he's visited in the world, Barcelona was one his favourites, or maybe even all-time favourite. Thanks so much for the well-wishes to Scott and I too! We had a fantastic day, though thank god it's over now! We're going to have a major picture exchange when you guys are back in Canada, so CARVE me into your schedule before you leave me for Onterrible.

Wow! - From: The Quest for the Holy Grail
Holy Grail and all eh? Well I want to thank you for staying at the Lenin Hostel first...the comrade would be proud. I just thought I would update you on why I have not writen in awhile, my dad had his heart surgery after 10 years of waiting. All went well and it was only day surgery so it didn't take too long once we finally got him in. I'll explain more later so I miss you guys and I bought some fun games for when you come back and I even got an expansion pack for killer bunnies!

Spain sounds a little more high-maintenance than the other places you've been so far. And thirteen hours waiting at train stations? Oh god, you'd get there faster walking! I hope the rest of your stay in Spain picks up a little. And Danielle, shame on you! Shouldn't you be fluent in Spanish by now with a mother from Mexico AND Maria/Charlene's expert teaching? (Especially Charlene!) I expected better from you... :p

You guys have been busy. - From: The Gong Show of France
So how much do you hate the ever changing keyboards in Europe?! As soon as you get used to one country's keyboard you jump ship and have to get used to a new one. Happy Birthday Jan it sounds like you had a great day. Well I miss you guys and I am glad you were there for Bastille day that is so awesome!

Really, it made my heart hurt to read about you guys in Italy when I want to be there sooooo much! Happy (belated!) Birthday Janimal! Sorry things didn't work out perfectly for your special day, but it sounds like you had a pretty nice time even without Andorra. Who could complain about Bordeaux though?

Mmmm... gelato.... - From: Northern Italy: A Romance
Or is it actually gelati? Or are they different? I'm confused. I'm glad to hear Venice is actually nice. I talked to a travel agent that said it was horrible and smelly, but then again, she said Naples was great. I've gotten a couple postcards already - thanks guys! :D

You guys sure have been getting around and seeing a lot in a very short time, and eating a LOT of gelato! I can't wait to hear about Milano!!!! So extremely jelous, if you happen to find it can you please take a picture of the Prada shop for me?! I miss you terribly and it just isn't the same sitting outside with a bottle of wine without you two. I can't wait to hear about your next adventure!

Thanks for the Wikipedia tip you guys! Do you know that while you're touring medieval castles and drinking wine and eating mother-counrty pasta and lying on beaches, I'm sitting on my ass at work, bored out of my tree, trying to think of something I can look up on Wikipedia to keep my brain semi-busy until the clock strikes 5:00? And no Jan, I don't care if you got "beaned" in the head with a pop can by obnoxious teenagers - the point is that you're on a beach and I'm not. :( Oh, all right, I'll stop being such a whiner. And I am actually grateful for the Wikipedia tip. I need somewhere to start. Safe travels!

What fun, I really enjoy your updates. It sounds hot!! Yikes. We had 22 degree weather here. Just came back from Mitchell Bay and Art's Birthday party on the beach...saw Stu and Fraz and they say HI. It was alot of fun...lots of people and we had our first sleep over in the house! Jeff went swimming...but the water was very cold...not like the water you were swimming in. Have fun in Venice. Love you two, Mør

Cellini! - From: Rustic Tuscany
Oh you found him, so maybe all of his stories were true, but still probably not, I think if I lived in his times I would have cut off his head and bronzed it, maybe that is what they did!? Anyhoo I am glad to hear you found a quaint little medieval town among the dirty tourist traps. Rimini sounds promising. Miss you lots!!!!!

Hey Jackie - From: Rustic Tuscany
Yeah I thought of you with the spider thing, although not in that moment. I was too busy being terrified myself. It was huge and furry. But the next tent was good, so that was a plus - spider free! I hope that our stories are helpful for you and planning, although we are seeing Italy in a different way then you two will. I really loved Siena, and hated Naples. Rome was wicked and so was Pompeii! For Pompeii we stayed in an area called Portici, just outside of Naples, and I think that was a good choice because Naples was just dirty. :) Yeah the wine was pretty terrible...but it has lasted us two nights! We have brought it here to Rimini. It is fun to drink from...heavy at first though.... :)

*shudder* - From: Rustic Tuscany
I would have had a stroke. Seriously. I woke up with one TINY spider in my tent once when Scott and I were camping, and I screamed so loudly, birds flew out of the trees. Did you think of me Danielle? Okay, you've also inspired a new plan of mine. When Scott and I go to Italy and he's walking around being all high-and-mighty about wine, I'm going to go find that store with the 1 euro bottle, I'm going to take a picture of me holding it with the pricetag, and then I'm going to buy it and drink it. Sweet!

Ihateyouguysforgoingtopompeiiwithoutme!!! - From: Naples and Pompei
And Jan, I have to insists on correcting your spelling again (sorry). "Pompei" is the kind of modern town of Pompei or rather, the municipality (apparently they're called communi in Italy). "Pompeii" is the actual ancient city itself. For shame! Now really, if you're not going to take the time to learn these things properly, I'm going to have Danielle send you home and have me come in her place! Sigh... don't mind me. I knew I was going to have a jealous spaz when you wrote about Pompeii. It's kind of my dream... I hope you guys took lots of pictures!

Nothin' like a little bird fuckin' to commemorate your global legacy, right? I'm glad you guys had a nice relaxing last couple days in Greece. I get tired just reading about all the stuff you're doing every day! I'll also offer some advice for Italy: Danielle, keep the cleavage on the DL. Apparently lots of Italian men have no qualms about running up to a random well-endowed foreigner and giving her a little squeeze. And you don't have a math teach chaperone to punch such individuals for you (though I suppose Jan might rise to your defense).

Oh Jan, I understand the thing about the heat. Us northerners just can't handle it, but you have to remember Danielle is half Mexican - she can probably take it a lot better! My Big Fat Greek Wedding was EXACTLY what I thought about when you wrote that! At least we know a couple of us have good taste. Glad you guys were okay from the earthquake too. Did you feel the ground shaking and everything, or was the building just trembling a little? I hope the rest of your adventures aren't quite so dangerous as that!

- From: Hot Day in Delphi
Let me fill you in on some of the things your missing in good ol' North America. I just a commercial on ABC for a new reality TV show called "I Survived a Japanese Game Show!" and it's exactly like it sounds. A bunch of Americans get (unexpectedly) flown to Japan to participate in the most stereotyped Asian game show ever created. They dress up as bugs and play games like "splat on the windshield"; they put on baby bonnets and spin around in teacups; they are constantly being dunked in water. Just wanted to let you know what you're missing out on while you see fabulous ruins and sample foreign cuisines and learn about ancient history. Jerks. :p

I can't even imagine what it must have been like to go to a place like that that you've been imagining and learning about for so long... it would be like me getting to help out with brain surgery or something! As for the heat, I'm sure it's too late to tell you know, but I would advise you get used to it! Just be thankful you're not one of those old widows who wear black for the rest of their lives!

Wowzers - From: Its all Greek to me
It's a good thing I'm not with you guys! I think I can handle a lot of things when I'm traveling, but not being able to find where I'm supposed to be going is not one of them. I would have been such a basket case if I'd been running around looking for terminals/ticket verification booths/accommodations/etc. Especially at the airport... Kudos to you guys for getting through it! I know it's cliche, but one day you'll look back and laugh about the whole thing. "Oh man, our first day in Greece was such a disaster!"

Sounds like torture - From: Whirl Wind Tour
Maybe your decision to forgo the London Tower wasn't too bad. I mean, the whole thing is just full of torture devices, right? People all come out traumatised (<--British spelling!) on the other side. I know I'm pretty late in saying it, but I'm glad you got there all right! I hope you said hi to Jordo for all of us too. :)

Greece adventures - From: Its all Greek to me
That sounded like a lot of fun! I always love a spirited airport sprint, it makes me hyperventilate. Same with finding lodging in a country where you can't speak the language. Good for you Danielle asking people, Jeff does that! I'm like Jan...I want to figure it out myself or I'm too stubborn. Hmm. But glad you are having adventures! Keep it up am really enjoying this.
