Hi all, just a quick entry for anyone who might still be reading to let you know I'm still here. Was updating the blog on Word but it seems to have locked up and I can't even copy it and paste it in here. Don't fancy retyping it all again so will have to do without for now. Had a wonderful Xmas and New Year and just deciding now whether to leave on Friday for Bangkok or wait till next week and just go straight to the airport and home. Jx... read more

Friday 18th. Having to write that down as the days are all beginning to merge into one. I have no clue what i done on Friday although I do remember that Valkyrie was on telly when I got in so couldn’t have been too mad. Oh yes, I remember I left my bike at the hotel and walked into town, was planning on getting something to eat and couldn’t decide what I fancy. Sometimes, all you really want is a McDonalds for convenience. Bought some fried chicken from the food market which was nice, but not all that. Went down to Chequered Flag and fed the bones to Fang. Decided to try out the Harp Bar down the road so went down and met Chris in there. I’ve decided that he is the annoying little brother ... read more

Tried to have a bit of a sleep before the Black Moon Party but couldn’t, lay in the room watching Dollhouse on the laptop and Gavin and Stacey. Then these noisy Australian blokes decided to sit on their balcony arguing which sounded as though they were sitting in my room. Decided to just get up anyway and go down to the bar. There was meant to be a warm up party but there wasn’t many there. A few people went off earlyish but Som had told me it didn’t get good until about 12. I sat chatting with Lee and then he suggested if i waited for him to close down the bar he’d give me a lift. Got there for about midnight and it looked amazing. They have a kind of canopy area with loads ... read more

After Sundays shenanigans I woke up early bells on Monday. Went down to the restaurant but they were just opening so thought to go back to my room for a little while. Fellback asleepbut at about 9.30 alex was banging down the door. I pretty much shouted at him to go away because the Changover was beginning to kick in. By 10.30 I felt I was going to die and slipped in and out of dreams where I was lying in a cool crystal stream being rehydrated. About 12.30 I managed to drag myself out of bed and rang Alex to come get me. Lin made me breakfast which I could barely eat and I felt much better after some carrot and orange juice. Lin took me to see a guesthouse in ThongSala, just behind Chinatown. ... read more

Saturday was fun. Alex came and picked me up in the limo (read, battered old jeep) and took me to Tescos where I stocked up on provisions like soap and bleach. Then went into Lins for a while and then wandered over to Chequered Flag across the road. I went back to Lins for some food then Alex took me home. It was only in the car home he told me he’d had 5 sambucas while I was away. His driving was appalling and he blamed the gearbox for everything. I managed to get back to coco garden in one piece and went to the bar to celebrate. After a few hours Alex called me and said he was at the bar in Cocos. I walked down and he was with Tim and Marco. Gerard turned ... read more

After the longest night ever, the sun rose over the car park that we were sitting in. Ollie woke up and it was time to get on the boat again. I hadn’t slept all night, I was either listening to my ipod or playing card games on my laptop. It was futile trying to play real cards as they kept blowing away. Eventually it was time to get onto the ferry. I was worried I was going to be sick as it was a really small boat so Ollie gave me a travel sickness pill. Of course, taking this, immediately made me sick, before I’d even gotten on the boat. He did warn me it might make me drowsy, so I assume that I didn’t puke it up because I was asleep before the boat even ... read more

So the guy picked us up at 6pm on the dot, but then made us walk miles, through all the back streets, through a boxing ring! until we got to our coach. It was pretty busy so I sat next to this young guy. Once we got moving we had a chat, he's from Finland and I think he's called Ollie. At least thats what I've been calling him for the last however many hours. Few beers later and we both fell asleep. I thought at first we had a super seat because we were at the top of the stairs and there was noone in front of us. But we were also above the toilet. I had to sleep with the blanket over my head to keep the smell of piss out. I was told ... read more

Had a good sleep yesterday evening and hit Khao San Road about 9pm. Was looking for a laundry down this back street and came across the most amazing site. The main road, down towards the “Democracy Monument” was aglow with sparkly fairy lights. It was the Kings Birthday on the 5th, but I thought I’d missed all the celebrations. Oh no, the Thais celebrate this stuff for ages after. As I walked over fireworks started going off all around me. But these were like no fireworks I’ve ever seen or heard before. Wow they were like bombs going off all around me, but in the most beautiful colours. Some of them went off in loveheart shapes. Also people were throwing these glowing blue helicopter toys in the air. They were attached to elastic so went really ... read more

Got to Finsbury Park and the train on the Victoria Line platform was making a hell of a noise. It didn’t look like the doors were opening either so I jumped on a Piccadilly line train instead. Went to Green Park where I heard that the Vic line was suspended because of same train so I was relieved that my timing had been pretty damn perfect. Checked in online the night before I left but my printer wouldn’t print the boarding card so I was panicking over that, needless to say it wasn’t a problem and I sailed through . Once on the plane though I was stuck between two old dears. One of whom had absolutely no sense of MY PERSONAL SPACE. So i spent the next 6 ½ hours being dug in the ... read more

Well I thought I'd split this blog into two as this one is more about what feels like an epic journey home. I'd booked on the last shuttle bus from the hotel at 6.40pm, I realised this was very early but the options were to sit about in bars on a Friday night in the sweltering heat until late and I figured the best option was to sit about in the airport where I could read my book and keep cool until it was time to go. All very well but the airport is massive and even as the night got later it was getting busier and busier. The noise levels were really starting to get to me and I was tired and getting a little bit grumpy. I was so early that my flight wasn't ... read more
