Life for one man
This was my third trip to Egypt and I still love it. It is one of those places that you can return to over and over again and still see and experiences new things. It is full magical and full of ancients knowledge, each temple tells a different story, dedicated to a different Egyptian God or Goddess. We travelled in a small group of 16 and started in Cairo for a few days. Next a flight to Aswan where we boarded our own boat for a 8-day journey up the Nile. Having a smaller boat was a real blessing as we [View Full Entry]

These four majestic stones watch over this site
Alot of people go to Malta for the sun, the diving, the history of the Knights of St John but often miss the amazing beautiful temples there. There are quite a few on the Islands, my favourite is the one mainly photographed here - Hagar Qim. They are said to be the oldest Goddess Temples on the Planet and they certainly create a place of wonder and mystery that you can let your imagination explore. [View Full Entry]

If you do not have a private beach, which alot of the hotels do offer, there is always the main beach to soak up a few rays!
Wow! What a beautiful place, one to just relax in, really no need to rush around exploring, it's about enjoying what the Italians do best - enjoy the moment, eat wonderful food and appreciate the place you are in and the people you have around you. [View Full Entry]

Meteora

Europe » Greece » Central Macedonia » Thessaloniki
The land of the monks, large majestic rocks capped with monastries to explore. You can see what why they placed themselves here but how is another question. They must feel like eagles in their nests, viewing the wonderful mountains and scenery all around them, this is truely a place in which to contemplate our connection to God and the Earth we live upon.... Athens does not appeal to alot of people due to the hustle and bustle of the place but it is definately worth a stop over to visit the Acropolis and the Ancient History that you can feel there. [View Full Entry]

Santiago de Compostela

 Europe
A lovely place for a long weekend! The old city is delightful and fun to explore. Full of old churches, buildings and cobblestone paths, it comes together to create a peaceful and yet buzzy place to spend a few days. Very few tourists when we went but as it is more known for the pilgrims, winter was probably not inviting for those of that journey. Maybe summer time would transform this place into one which is heaving with people but still I'm sure it would maintain the specialness that emanates from the Old City. [View Full Entry]

Snow always provide great photos
Marrakesh turned out to be a lovely spot, perfect weather and the Atlas mountains to explore. It's weird going up in the snow, over the top, finding the sun shining again and the desert stretching out in front of us. Marrakesh itself is an interesting place to explore especially the Old Midina, go in the evening so you see the market stalls and everybody coming out and about after a days work. Best time is dusk. Life in the desert is tough and hard, but the people of the desert have great hearts and are probably more aligned to the land because there is little that separates them from Mother Earth
Regardless of what is happening now in Israel I still think it's one of the most amazing places full of culture and special places. The Old City is such a mix of people living side by side and the buildings are also fascinating. I spent a couple of days near Qumran as well and I found this place has a real vibrant energy and the views towards the mountains/hills are breathtaking. [View Full Entry]

Getting eye contact with a dolphin is special
If you are a dolphin lover go to Monkey Mia, you don't need to be able to swim as the dolphins come into the beach usually about three times a day. It is supervised but everybody gets to stand there while many dolphins come swimming around, it's a lovely experience and you can really connect with them. West Australia has beautiful sunshine as well, without the humidity which is a bonus!! You take a smaller plane from Perth to get there and once there you can either do cabin type accommodation or backpackers etc. [View Full Entry]
