After spending almost 10months at the south-east, I've finally moved to west for a new project. Australia is a beautiful country, but not a place I would like to spend the rest of my life in. Im still searching for a place where I can call home beside Malaysia. Peru comes close to this but I still want to keep searching...I just dont feel like settling down so soon... [View Full Entry]

A very expensive trip but have eventually achieved one of my 'thing to do before I.....' My YMCA hostel near Central Park costs me $100 per day with about 40rooms sharing 3 toilets and showers at one floor. Me being the last person to take shower at midnight will have to make sure that I didn't take any deep or heavy breath until I've finished my shower (felt like in a Chinese vampire movie). Some highlights of my trip: 1. The Statue of Liberty - long queue, crowded ferry, sunburnt but how can one misses her when visiting the Big Apple. [View Full Entry]

Plaza de Armas at night
This is so far the most beautiful plaza I've been in Peru.
As a gateway to Machu Pichu, Cusco has become the most visited city by tourists in Peru. When you think Miraflores is full of gringos, then you will be surprised that Cusco is even more ‘gringo’ then Miraflores. However, as a city itself, Cusco does have its own attractions - the cathedrals, museums, ruins, discos (the best in Peru, surprise!), restaurants, the Inca walls and roads etc - it is not only just a stopover before visiting the Machu Pichu! At 3000m ++ above sea level, I got dizzy and little fever the first day arrived at Cusco. It got worse [View Full Entry]

This will be the shot everybody take once they enter the site.
Thanks to Hiram Bingham, Machu Pihcu has become the most visited site in Peru, and the most expensive among the new 7 wonders. I have only 4 days to complete my trip to MP and Cusco, hence have not much choice left and was forced to join a one day tour - which is the worst way to visit the site. The group departed from Cuzco around 8.00am to Ollantaytambo by bus, in order to catch a 2hours train to Aguas Calientes - the ugliest and the most expensive town in Peru. Afterward we took another 30minutes bus ride uphill and [View Full Entry]

This will always be the first reccomendation from your Peruvian friends!
I have to admit that have never had any idea about Peruvian cuisine before coming to this country. As a Malaysian I am lucky to have the opportunity to enjoy all kind of fusion from all over Asia. I think that this is why our taste buds are a bit difficult to satisfy. But luckily as a ‘Fan Tong’ (rice bucket), I am glad that rice is also a main meal in the Peruvian food and that’s why I have put on much weight recently. A normal set lunch in the local restaurant is about 5-7soles (about USD1.80 - 2.20) and [View Full Entry]

USD40 for a 15minutes thrill compared to USD120 for a full package trekking in Huaraz is relatively luxurious, but what the hell - Im getting older and before I get more chicken shit I should do it now!!! It is just beside Parque del Amour, where the spot for paragliding is, and as told by the guide right now is the best timing for paragliding. The guide was flying with me as the pilot to control the parafoil where I basically just sit at the harness and enjoying the view. Not as scary as I’ve thought - was terrified at the [View Full Entry]
