Hi I'm Jack.

My family and I are traveling around the world for 6 months. I know I can't write everything I do but I'll give it a shot!

The I.O.C
The I.O.C
Me at the I.O.C
Our first stop was Lausanne. It is home of the I.O.C or the International Olympic Committee. It also had a lake (Geneva). We spent most of the day there. It was nice and refreshing. We also went for some lovely bike rides along the lake. We then moved on to Sion. Before we knew it we were on a cable car heading for the first snow of my life. We threw snow at each other but none hit me. Then we made/attempted a snowman. He was called Sonny. They had a dog sled ride so we all went on that. It [View Full Entry]

Gorge Du Tarn
Gorge Du Tarn
Off at last!
After we left Canal du Midi we went to Gorge after Gorge after Gorge. First we went to Gorge Du Tarn. Dad and I paddled down the Gorge. It was fast flowing so we didn’t have to do much work. Then we tried to go see some volcanoes but it was way to cloudy so we went to a region called Puy en Vallay. It has a nice town with a church upon a massive hill. The church is carved completely out of stone. We could see everything from the top of the hill. Then we went to my favourite gorge, [View Full Entry]

I have spent the last week not in a motor home in Italy, but in a canal boat in France. This has been my most anticipated moment of the trip and it has been in the top 10 list. Our canal boat is called Speedy Gonzales but it does not live up to its name…. You can only go 8km/hr…..for shame. The canal was beautiful and it was easy travel and a good rest. But there was still some work involved. At certain sections of the canal the water is at different levels. This is where locks come in. You drive [View Full Entry]

More Locks

You probably think that the title is not that realistic but as you will find out there’s a deadly Nun involved. We went to Rome at last! The first day we went to see the Vatican city the worlds smallest country. Before we went to St Peters church we went to the Sistine chapel. The Sistine chapel has paintings on the side of the walls and the roof. It was painted by Michael Angelo. He did a good job, but he has too much spare time on his hands! We then went up to the dome of St Peters church. We [View Full Entry]

Well Paris is over, now begins the best part of the trip. Getting a motorhome. We picked up our motorhome in Stuttgart, which is in Germany. We then caught up with friends we met in Western Australia. After chatting with them, we decided to go to Italy while it was not peak time. We fairly quickly went through Germany, but we will revisit it. My highlight was eating with the German locals in a hay barn. They were trying to raise money for a church, so every so often they get all the locals and have a big lunch. My favorite [View Full Entry]

Venice
Venice

Well you guessed it. We're in France. We landed in England and then we caught a train under the English channel to Paris. Paris is awesome! The region we are staying in is Mont Martre. It is a lovely area. It has lots of fresh food. We tried the baguette. It is the long bread stick. We went to the Eiffel Tower. We went to the second level. We could see everything from up there. The Eiffel Tower is 320m high. It was built for a universal world fair. We also went to the Notre Dame Church. It was really old. [View Full Entry]

Pyramids
Pyramids
This is us on a Pyramid.
Hi everyone! Egypt Is really good. It's hectic ,but fun. But one thing that I didn't do was go to the pyramids... NOT! To not go to the pyramids is commiting a crime of the highest order. We rode some camels around the pyramids. My camel was called Mickey Mouse but I called it Nutcracker! Can you guess why? The pyramids were big, but not as big as I expected. They would have been covered in marble but the robbers got there first. I had a great time. We also saw the Sphinx. I could only really make out the face. [View Full Entry]

Well goodbye Asia and hello India. When we left the airport I thought I was going to melt! I was so hot! This temperature remained the whole time in India and wore us down. In Delhi the traffic is... HECTIC!! There is virtually no road rules, it's scary. In Delhi there wasn't actually that much to do. We saw a couple of sights but the heat beat us, so we saw no more. We went to Jaipur next. I did what every tourist dreams to do. I rode an elephant. We rode the elephant at Amber fort. It was a big [View Full Entry]

Our Asia experience is fast nearing an end. We left Beijing and flew to Shanghai. Shanghai is still in China. The weather was pretty average though. The highlight of Shanghai was walking down the Bund which is a walkway next to the river. We saw lots of boats. One boat had a big T.V screen on it, and it was advertising all sorts of things. Well goodbye China! Before we knew what was happening we where whisked off to Hong Kong. Hong Kong in my opinion is more like Japan than China. It is more organised and cleaner. The highlight of [View Full Entry]

China

Asia » China » Beijing » Great Wall of China
We caught a plane to China. We landed in Beijing. The sky is covered in a thick layer of pollution. You can't see the blue in the sky. It's a weird feeling. I will sum up the highlights of Beijing in one blog entry. We went to The Great Wall. It's so massive. At one stage, the steps were so steep, we had to use our hands to help us up the steps. The Great Wall took 2000 years to build, it was built to keep out The Mongolians. You would think that they would have noticed! Another highlight was the [View Full Entry]
