I spent Easter weekend in Barcelona. Although we had a slight mishap with a delay not allowing us to make our connection and stranding us in Milan for 24 hours, it was a great trip. Here are the pictures: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2100244&id=13309204&l=c1d1705d01 [View Full Entry]

Yesterday I woke up before 5am to go Obama speak at the Prague Castle at 10. It was a beautiful morning, and it was nice to see the sunrise over St.Nicholas which you can see in the background behind Obama during his speech. Obama did a great job of inserting pieces of Czech history into is speech, saying that when he was born not only could a black man not become president, but an American president would not be allowed to speak in Prague. The crowd loved it when he correctly pronounced "velvet revolution" in Czech....“Sametova revoluce”, the only problem was [View Full Entry]

Here are my Pictures from my 10 day spring break trip to Greece. We first spent a night in the "worst part" of athens (according to lonely planet), then traveled to Santorini for 4 days, then Mykonos for 2 days, and then back to Athens for 2 more nights to see the Acropolis. The trip was wonderful, it was so nice to see the sun and flowers again, and the food was AMAZING. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2099205&id=13309204&l=b4a272b02c http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2099210&id=13309204&l=c52e62ec96 (There are two albums) [View Full Entry]

I forgot to post the pictures from my trip to Budapest last weekend. It was one of the best weekends of my life. I took the 7 hour bus down with about 10 other people from my program and we stayed in an awesome hostel that was just opened a year ago by some english guys. The philosophy of the hostel was all about meeting people, so they would take us out at night on free pub crawls and show us local hungarian pubs that we never would have found on our own, it defiantly felt like an authentic experience. Besides [View Full Entry]

I just got back from london. I had a great time there, but the traveling was a little exhausing because I missed my first flight because I went to the airport without my passport (oops) and then had to buy a ticket for the next day, and both of my flights ended up being delayed). But being in London with Donielle was amazing, it really made me appreciate my friends at Scripps and I cant wait to go back in the fall. We didnt do a lot of touristy things, but spent most of the days walking around the city and [View Full Entry]

Kunta Hora Cathedral
Mike, Kate, Jordan (mikes twin), Grady, and Lexa. These are pretty much the people I hang out with.
Here are some new pictures that I put up. Im having a great time, two weekends ago we went to Kunta Hora, a 15th century mining town with a huge gothic cathedral and church decorated with the bones of people who died from the black plague....im still not sure why. the past weekend we went to Terezin, a military fortress outside of prague that was used as a concentration camp during WWII, the museums there showing the artwork that were done by the people during the holocaust were haunting, especially the artwork done by the young children (the Natzi's decided that [View Full Entry]

It is almost the end of my first week here, and I feel that I am starting to get into the swing of things. All 29 of us (ONLY 7 BOYS) are still hanging out in large groups with each other and cliques haven't started to form yet, which means it is rare to eat a meal with less than 10 people or make a trip to the local Tesco (an english 4 story version of Wall-mart) with less than 15. Today after class we explored a new grocery store and found novelties such as: a Fish Bucket (a small plastic [View Full Entry]

Im in Prague! All of my flights went smoothly, although I have quite a bit of jet-lag. My greatest fear of the cold has so far been avoided, its only 27 degrees and there is no ice on the sidewalks although there is snow on the ground. I also can not say that I am in the slight bit hungry after a hearty czech meal of pork, cabbage, and dumplings, along with, of corse, a Plisner. I will try to update this blog with pictures as often as I can...Keep checking it to see what I'm up too... [View Full Entry]
