Awesome! Now that's a very overused word in New Zealand but nevertheless I think of these photos it's definitely appropriate. Those ones of the mountains are stunning. And the bears - I'm jealous too. How on earth do you find out about these stunning trips?
Cwl! 1. Are the Svalbard mountains upside down? Rather a surreal photo though. I like very much.
2. Next time, please also take a photo of the goober person that sits next to you. 'Twould make an excellent blog entry. Unless it's me of course :-D
3. We are very jealous. Maybe this can be our next holiday...
:-D xo

:-D Ha. Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha. Ok, c'mon, hands up now - how many people out there truly believe that I had to twist Julie's arm to get her into 11 pubs?
And in any case, if there's 10 pubs on the t-shirt list, why stop at just 8? Houghmagandie playing in the 11th was just the icing on the cake. They were fab.
Och ay, 'twas a bonnie day out and a good time was had by all. We must do that again sometime! :-)
Re China I know, I know I am such a slack ass now that I am home. Will be there within the week. I promise....Really I do...well as long as more cricket doesn't get in the way....and shopping..... and beers....
Aww, I wanna go THERE!!! 1) Love the tents, reminds me of Tunisia. Just 40 degrees colder I'm sure.
2) Love the contortionists too. That's you on the left at the back, yeah?
3) Appropriate clothing for taking a wooz in minus 18 would include thermals, snow suit, beanie, and one of those weird ShePee things that I haven't had the pleasure of trying yet...:)
Deja vu Hey, did the immigration lady have Princess Leia buns and a couple of machine-gun wielding soldiers on either side? Is it the same lady, or is it in the job spec for Russian immigration???
We also had the same experience re smiling - we clearly remember arriving in Helsinki after 6 days in Russia and the hotel receptionist smiled at us, cracked a joke, and provided great service. We'd gotten so used to Russia, we didn't quite know what to do with ourselves... Ahh, memories.
Watch out for that $20 coffee :) And enjoy Mongolia and China.
Love from Casa del Cristolball and Shani :) :)
Memoreis, memories LOL, I'd forgotten about the bus toilets. I had my vodka hangover the day we did the Winter Palace - I had to leave after nearly throwing up on a Da Vinci...
Wow! Hey Julie, finally caught up with your blog and how amazing your adventures sound. Very jealous of the Scandanavian trip, got me thinking I might do something similar myself next year... In the meantime, I'm off to China tomorrow. 4 days on my own in Beijing. How much havoc can I cause in that time? Keep having fun.
incredible! People actually ski down that slope! it looks almost vertical, i wouldn't even want to walk down it. some beautiful photos though, especially the sunset / sunrise(?) at 1 am.
cheers

Hey Julie! Hey Julie!
How are ya? i hope ur good! Miss ya heaps even tho I don’t see u that much anyway, but I still haven’t seen you in a while! Sounds like your having heaps of fun im SO so so SO jealous, the only thing exciting at the moment is that I have exams in 3 days! yes.. very excited *cough* Lol. Well u have to watch out for that cornflake thief there may be many more, how rude! About the chemist guy from desperate housewives, i wouldn’t think he’d be funny either, I think I have something against him just because of the part that he plays on desperate housewives tho, he’s pretty evil! All the places you’ve been to are pretty awesome, wish I was there! Well have heaps of fun!!! See ya when u get back! Mum, Dad & everyone say hello! Luv ya! xoxo
Luv lots Rikki :)
awesome Jules, more great adventures and spectacular photos! when you go back to South America it will have to be as a tour guide as i, (and i am sure many others will) want to come as well. already looking forward to the next chapter of your adventure.
cheers
:) Oi! Wot's that about sending me to a convent? (Get thee to a nunnery???)
Questions:
1. Que es una empanada? Will you make us some?
2. So when are we going paragliding over Sacred Valley? Shall we start planning our own "Diarios de motocicleta"? (Mmm, nice sandboard too!)
3. So, ya wanna see some soccer then? Apparently there's some sort of competition starting in Germany next week...
See you in 7.5 days!
S :-D xo
we just did same great blog about the salar. we just got back from 4 day trip thru lakes and salars between tupisa and Uyuni . Agree with you fantastic panoramas and sunrise and silly photo ops, saw same pet llama at the salt works.
Great photos! Hey, looks like you're having such a great time!
Not much gossip here, can I add Dr Morcom to this blog as a subscriber, I don't think he's as interested in Godfrey as your adventures.
Your home is still standing, all is well
Have a ball! Libby
Nice moonscape Yeah. When we do this on the bike though, you'll have to forgive me and
Chris for bringing along the Star Trek suits and filming on the moonscape...
Nice excuse for the foot/knee too - "blame it on the altitude". I'm gonna
use that one next time I'm a wombat... :-D
west coast Thanks Julie for keeping us posted on your journey. Keep up the great pictures and dialogue. Since I can't travel at this time (weddings) I really enjoy yours.
2006 Year of the super trip. Yes, i'm off until around Novemberish as long as I don't spend too much before then. This is to help keep family and friends up to date, and myself too as most of the time I no idea where to next and also likely to forget where i've been!... full info
