Hurricane Ike was coming towards us at Grand Turk as a Cat 4 which means 135+ mph winds. Ike was a very dangerous storm. A cat 4 hurricane is defined as: "Category 4 hurricanes tend to produce more extensive curtainwall failures, with some complete roof structural failure on small residences. Heavy, irreparable damage and near complete destruction of gas station canopies [View Full Entry]

Today I went to the Temples in Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai has many temples. I took tour with me and two others from England ( don’t remember their names). They were on the last days of a 7 month around the world trip. We went to the most famous 5 temples in Chiang Mai. The culture and spirit around the temples is unbelievable. With monks walking around and just the size and detail that went into building these temples hundreds even thousands of years ago is amazing. The most famous temple is the Du Souip temple and its located on [View Full Entry]

Well I decided to go to chiang mai for the first time. I went to the train station to see if I could get a ticket there today. The train left at 6 pm for a 12 hour train ride. I booked at first class sleeper cabin. Only 1300 baht ( 40 bucks). The train ride was awesome better than any airplane ride I’ve been on. They brought me supper and I had my own cabin to myself so I slept most of the way. I would highly recommend going on the train up north. Well I wanted to write [View Full Entry]

Day 2 My next spot was Pattaya 2 hours south east of Bangkok. Pattaya was a R&R stop off from the Vietnam War back in the 60’s. Pattaya has changed a lot since then but still has famous walking street filled with many beer bars and go go bars. So I got off the bus and headed to catch a baht bus which then took me to Jomtien Beach 5 minutes out of Pattaya. Jomtien Beach is where I studied to become a Scuba Diving Instructor. I went to the dive shop and met up with former students and friends. [View Full Entry]

So Thursday I flew from sunny Ft. Lauderdale Florida into Toronto, Ontario Canada. First thing is just to let you know about Toronto or the Greater T. Area. Toronto itself has about 2 million people. The GTA has about 6 million people with city’s so close that its almost one huge city. As I arrived into Toronto’s huge Person airport, my cousin Courtney and her friend Sayo “ pronounced “SAA-YO”picked me up . We hugged and decided to get moving to the car. I got into T.O around 23:00 hours so it was getting late. But I'm on holidays so [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone...my name is Aly and I'm a friend of JP's. I was fortunate enough to have the pleasure of being on the island for JP's last night here on Grand Turk before his (what is turning out to be) a very long journey home. So I shall start from the beginning.....the evening started out quietly as Jon and I tried to get JP's lazy butt to go to the bar but he calmly refused and took a nap. Anyways, we forgave him because he's just that nice of a guy. After a nice nap at good ol' sunnyside he [View Full Entry]
