Me on the Beach
Me on the Beach
Our last day to enjoy the beach.
Happy Father's Day, Dad! Sorry we were not able to call you. We woke up late, went to breakfast before they shut down and came right back to the hotel room and fell asleep. We woke up from our nap when house keeping knocked our our door to clean our room, so we left for the beach. We talked about going back to the room right when we're done with the beach and call you via Skype. After the beach my boss invited us to lunch. After that we had to come home and get ready for the formal dinner. Our [View Full Entry]

Lunch in Playa
Watching the soccer game...and wishing for A.C.
Sorry I couldn't get online last night, we had some Internet issues. Drew and I started our day going to downtown Playa to do some shopping and grab some lunch while watching a Euro Cup 2008 game. After lunch we headed to Tulum before going to his boss' beach house. Scott had a great place right on the water, and right next door to a place that charges 100 pesos ($10) to snorkel. It didn't cost us anything to get in the water since his yard backs up into it. While we were hanging out in the water we saw several [View Full Entry]

Par 3 approaching the ocean.
Drew and I woke up early this morning to go have breakfast before heading to the golf course. Lucky for us, today was the nicest day so far. The golf course was so awesome, a couple holes were right on the beach. We're back now and will relax until we go to dinner. I'll send pictures if anything exciting happens at dinner. Talk to you later! [View Full Entry]

I'm taking the picture so you can't see me, but I have on one of the winning hats too. Odmar (Dell Brazil) is kneeling down and that's Warren to the right, and behind them is Chandler.
This morning I had a charity event to go to. We split into teams of 5, each with their own color bandanna. The event was building bicycles for poor kids, many of which walk 2-3 miles a day to get to school, and the contest was who could build it the fastest. (we only had 4 people on my team). When we finished building the bikes they surprised us by announcing that the kids were actually on site at the resort, but didn't know what they were doing there. They brought the kids out on the yard and gave them a [View Full Entry]

Winning Team
Taking a siesta

Hello! Drew and I landed in Mexico around 2:30pm today. We checked in and and spent the next couple hour relaxing in the room...which is amazing. At 7:00pm we went to the welcome reception dinner and met all the other 'winners' on the trip. We are back in the room, looking forward to a little sleep. Here are a couple pictures of our room and the reception. Talk to you later! [View Full Entry]

Hello, The trip to Camiguin (Island born of fire) this past weekend was awesome. It was a one hour and fifteen minute flight to Cagayan de Oro, hour and a half drive to the loading docks, another hour and half ferry ride to the Camiguin and another 30 minutes to the resort. It was worth it. 7 volcanoes and land movements are responsible for creating the spectacular views of the island. From white sand beaches, to huge granite cliffs and lush jungles up in the mountains. There were 10 of us that went. My favorite spot was probably the sunken [View Full Entry]

Hello! Well, we had a blast this past weekend. We left Manila Friday evening after work, which is Saturday morning local time. It was a 9 hour drive to Banaue where we were staying. The next morning we woke up and headed to Sagada, 3 hours on mountain roads...mostly unpaved. The drive to Banaue wasn't awful because we had a van and a driver. The drive to Sagada, through the mountains in a Jeepney, was miserable. Both Banaue and Sagada are old, poor farming villages. The rice terraces in Banaue are 2000+ years old. They create some of the most beautiful [View Full Entry]

Coffins in a Cave

Hello Everybody - Me and a few guys from work are going up north to Banaue and Sagada. It is supposed to take us 9 hours by car. If it was paved all the way it would probably only take about 4 hours, but half way there it turns into gravel mountain roads. We leave Friday night after work (6am Saturday local time). I will be sure to take plenty of photos. I've attached a couple wiki links so you can read a little of where we're going. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banaue_Rice_Terraces http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagada Talk to you later! Mark and Joy Thompson

The Photographer took them to a lake for photos after the wedding.
Riza and I are leaving this afternoon. It’s been a great trip all the way around. You all will be impressed with the photos from Joy’s wedding. We haven’t seen the pictures yet, but the photographer was top notch, he was taking some cool shots. Here is one from my dinky camera. Yesterday we took a day trip to Milford sound. The drive out there was stunning, and once you got to Milford it took your breath away. We took a private tour with one other couple so we didn’t have to deal with the crowds. There must have been 50 [View Full Entry]

Yesterday was awesome. I don't have much time to write now, Riza and I are on our way to Milford Sound, a national park. A quick re-cap of yesterday: Riza and Joy went to hair and make-up around 7am. The limo picked them up from the hair salon (that was our surprise to them so Joy wouldn't have to get in and out of a taxi in her wedding dress). Then we went to the heli-port, they flew up and got married. It was one of the most beautiful days of the summer so far, per the locals. After the wedding [View Full Entry]
