Africa
Having lived and worked in London's rat race throughout our twenties and now headlong in to our thirties it would be easy to exist in our comfortable lives with our material luxuries. But there was an itch that could not be reached and kept persisting. So with the slowdown in the economy one would think we should be holding on to our relatively safe jobs and careers. But that was becoming less and less enticing and was not satisfying the itch.
So after months, perhaps years of procrastination, we made the decision to quit the 9 to 5 - as dolly Parton sang, "Aint no way to make a livin". Well at least for now and before we got too many responsibilities it was time to dip in to the funds that were saved for a rainy day. As we had both been to lots of places between us and travelled to some of the usual 'around the world' destinations, two major continents that we hadn't and were deeply fascinated by were Africa and South America. Hopefully we will get to go to both but Africa won our hearts first.
Such a vast continent and with over 50 countries it would be impossible to cover it all. East Africa beckoned with the desire to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. This is one of the poorest countries in the World so we want to leave more than a footprint and make a slight difference to the World by volunteering whatever we can.
Enjoy our blog and snaps and leave us a quick message too if you can.
