November 1, 2008 After running a few shopping errands this morning Chrissy and I we very anxious and excited to be arriving into Thailand this evening. The best part is that we would also be meeting up with Chrissy's best friend, Maria. The flight took hours and upon reaching Bangkok we kept our eyes wide open hoping to be the first to spot Maria. We knew she would be landing just 30 minutes after us. After hiding behind every object we could find just so that we could surprise as much as possible we gave up and went on the quest to find her. And then, through a large crowd of people all waiting for their baggage, we spotted the long wavy hair and found her. Instantly, it was like we had never left as ... read more

October 14, 2008 (early in the morning) With the end of a four flight we arrived in Hong Kong. It was interesting when we were walking through the airport, they had temperature checks. What this is, is pretty much SARS control. SARS broke out a few years ago and it all started in Asia due to something with chickens. The temperature check does what it's called, it checks your internal body temperature as you are walking by. We saw one girl whose body showed up red while ours showed up blue. Instantly, someone ran over to her and stuck something in her ear (maybe a thermometer?) and did some tests on her. Crazy. We saw one drunk baffoon yelling out loud, trying to make cheesy jokes. When the crowd stopped to stare, he would yell ... read more

September 14, 2008 Arriving in Japan, we touched down around 5:30 in the evening. We had to catch the train to Gifu where Chris and Yoko live which meant we would have to figure out the Japanese railway system before the trains stopped running. It was great to see how efficient the system really was as we had no problems making our way around. Stopping at a quick convenience store for a snack, we were surprised that we could not figure out what any of the food was except for the sushi rolls. We knew there would be lots of food experimentation here. Chrissy and I arrived at Nishi Gifu station to meet Chris and we all walked back to his house arriving there at 11:30pm. Even though it was very late, Julia (Chrissy's 3 ... read more

August 19-20, 2008 Our last trip to the doctors before taking an overnight bus to Brindisi (nine hour ride). From here, we caught the Ferry to Corfu, Greece (eight hour ride). Long day but, we are getting use to these trips. The warm sea air washed over us, waking us, exciting us for new adventures. Of course, with no sleep from the night bus, we were soon catching some shut eye on the sunny top deck of the ferry. It was no problem that kids were screaming, that Italians were yelling at each other and that the intense heat of the sun beat down on our tired bodies. Nothing could have kept us from sleeping... When we arrived at the hostel, the owners showed us to a table where we were to eat a freeeeee ... read more

July 18, 2008 Italy, land of good food, wine and love. We left Glasgow this morning, raining and cold as usual, to head to warm and sunny Italy. Rome to be exact. It was long day of travelling and we finally arrived at the hostel around 7:30 pm. After checking in, we took care of a few chores and caught up on our travel blog. We sometimes get very behind and it is hard to catch up. We plan on getting up early to check out this massive city and its many wonders. July 19, 2008 WOW! Italy is more than what the both of expected. As soon as we began wandering the streets to sight see, there was so much that we did not know were to begin. We literally wanted to walk down every ... read more

July 12, 2008 We have now entered into Scotland and arrived in the city of Edinburgh. This city is very different from its English neighbour. Many of the streets are still mostly cobblestone and instead of using mainly red brick like England, it uses a greyish stone to build their homes and buildings. Due to the type of stones they use, the stones tend to turn dark with age giving the city a dark gothic feel. One of the most famous features of the city is the Edinburgh castle which sits in the center of the city. Even though we wanted to go inside, we have already seen many castle and proabably would be seeing more during the trip. So, we decided to check out the other sites of the city and walk through the ... read more

July 4, 2008 We woke up early this morning, packed up our stuff and headed to catch the train to Calais, a small Freanch port city where we would be catching the Ferry to England. While on the bus to the train station, we couldnt help but notice ho much traffic there was and how little time we had. With minutes left we had to catch the subway and run to the train station. As we ran into the main terminal we the hour long lineup to pickup our tickets. To say the least we missed our train wich also means we missed our ferry and also means we missed our bus to London. It gets worse, we were told we would have to buy new tickets all over again. OUCH!! After taking some deep ... read more

June 14, 2008 This morning we were up early to make our way into France. We caught the bus and made the four journey into Beziers. The small town so far has a really good and mellow feel to it and that is another reason why we came here. After finding our new digs for thirty euro a night we made our way around town. The majority of people here look to be Arabic and a small percentage of Caucasians, not what we expected but, it never is. The park in the center of town was relly nice and even had a few weddings going on at the same time. THere is more to see here than we expected as well. We have run into the problem of communicating with people as not to many speak ... read more

May 28, 2008 We woke up very early this morning and ran to catch the bus to a city called Sevilla in Spain. It was recomended to us by a few people in Lisbon so we are going to check it out. The bus ride was only 3 hours and we slept the whole way. After arriving in Sevilla, we realize that we forgot to write down the name and addess of the hostel that we would be sleeping in! Once we got on the computer and found the info, we headed to our hostel. It was in a prime location, in the center of the city, but also our first taste as to how expensive Spain is. The hostels and hotels all increase their prices over the weekend and then as Monday rolls around, ... read more

May 19, 2008 After a 10 hour flight we have now arrived in Portugal. It was pretty cool as it was Henry's first time being in Europe, He thought about this as he walked down the stairs from the airplane and set foot on European soil. The first thoughts of Portugal are very positive, The city of Lisbon is very clean and beautiful with so many street side cafes, old Eurpoean architecture, and even a castle on the mountain top. We have also never seen so many Mercedes Benz, a lot of the taxi cabs are Mercedes as well. We did not do to much today as we are very tired from the flight and the time difference will take some getting used to. We are currently writing this at 4:30am (8:30pm back home). We were both ... read more
