Hey everyone, Time for another update. Our cell phone seems to working great. It's especially cool because we can tell who loves us most by the order of people calling us. Yes, dahd you were the first and the only one to call twice so far (guess you take the cake). Just kidding, some people who tried to call the last couple of days it might have been difficult to get through to us because we were, as you can probably tell from the title to this blog, trekking. Three days, two nights in the northern Thailand around Pai, which just [View Full Entry]

Can you find Elinor in this jungle
Elionor and 21 year old guide who calls himself David Beckham

We arrived safely in Chiang Mai. Some weird looking guy (looked kinda like a british version of Yuvall from pigeon drop - mom and dahd will be the only ones who know what I mean) got all pissed off at 6 am just before we were supposed to arrive when the driver stopped the bus and blasted some crappy 80s music in an attempt to wake all the travelers. He started yelling at the driver (he reaked of alcohol) We got a phone and incoming calls are free (as far as we know) The number is: (code to call out of [View Full Entry]

Well, We saw the best and the worst that Bangkok has to offer yesterday. Pat Pong (Spelling?) is a "nightlife" area of the city where you have a market selling some of the most beautiful fake watches, purses, and other merchandise. It is a happening place with bars and clubs, and women doing things with their nether regions I personally didn't know were physically possible. Yes! Shooting Ping pong balls, Opening bottles, drinking water......I couldn't believe it and Elinor was freaking out to say the least. We had a good time though and went back to the guest house to get [View Full Entry]

Chilling at Ban's diving center in Koh Tao
Taxi boat in Bangkok
nice bangkok bridge

Aaah it's nice to be back in bangkok for a couple of days. Our trip back was great. Much easier than the one there. Koh Tao to Champon with an extremely bumpy, but quick, speed boat. There after 10 minutes of part of "Van Wilder" (They show movies everywhere you go here - it's great you never get bored of those crappy bootleg movies that were taped in the movie theater with a handycam). Anyways the ("VIP") bus was once again way to cold and on a quick dinner break they dumped us in some place that reaked of urine and [View Full Entry]

The best chicken shwarma Elinor ever tasted
Beautiful view from Ko Tao Restaurant
Swingin on Ko Tao

Aaaaaah! Ko Tao is beautiful and so much more relaxed than Ko Pah Ngan. The people here are so nice and trusting. They let you pay for everything afterwards and the Guest house didn't even want our information. He said: "Ok Ok, you pay you leave, no problem." Guest House is called "in Touch" and it's very pleasant aside from the chickens that start talking to us through the front door at about 6 am every day. Elinor doesn't like the food as much as she did on Pah Ngan. But she loves the island. I went scuba diving today for [View Full Entry]

Wow what a great place: Ko Pha Ngan. The food is great especially for Elinor, because they have so many Israeli joints. She says she likes the food here better than in the states and it's dirt cheap. We are living like kings on a beggar's budget. A good sandwich costs around 40 Baht here ($1). Yesterday we took a 6 hour boat trip to different parts of the island (see pics). They put us all onto a long boat and took us to 3 different beaches, a waterfall, and a place where we could snorkel and see some colorful fish. [View Full Entry]

Walking through Bush bush to waterfall
Elinor in waterfall

Wow, What a crazy trip. From Kaosan: little bus to gas (about 11 hours) but not yet to the boat. For some reason they took us to some restaurant 5 minutes from where the boat docks (probably some deal between the restaurant and the bus people). Then a pick up picked us up and took us 5 minutes away to the boat, which finally took us via Ko Samui to The Full Moon Island. YES! We found a pretty nice place (see pics) for 300 Bat per night ($7.50) on the sunset side of Hat Rin (a city on the island). [View Full Entry]

Welcome to Full Moon Island

Walking to the Sunset side of Hat Rin

Thanks everyone for all your comments. The weather was beautiful today. We walked around Bangkok a little and visited a temple. We decided we have had enough of the city and we want to go to an island. We are waiting inside now because a wicked tropical storm is ripping through bangkok. We leave at 6:30 PM for Ko Pa Ngan. We bought the tickets for 400 bahts a piece (about $10) and that includes bus and Boat (Good price??). We supposedly get there tomorrow at 9:30 AM. I have some new pictures but this connection is to slow to upload [View Full Entry]

After a very long 27 hour flight we finally arrived in Bangkok. It's super hot and humid here. Everyone has been friendly so far. Lots of people everywhere. Again if anyone (ja ook de nederlanders) has any travel advise it is more than welcome. We are novices at best. we added some of the few pictures we have taken so far. Nothing to exciting.
