Hey everyone, I hope you have all enjoyed our blog. This will be the last entry as we are going back to Detroit tonight. This trip has been the experience of a lifetime. We wouldn't trade anything for the experiences and the things that we have learned. We feel privileged to have the opportunity to make such a trip and we encourage everyone who has the means and the time to do the same. The last blog ended in Siem Riep, which is the town next to Ankor (one of the, if not the biggest temple complexes in the world). We can't say enough about this place as it is truly one of the wonders of the world. As we said earlier we arrived back in Bangkok with the plan to go to Koh Chang ... read more

Hey Everyone, We're in Koh Chang, but I'm kind of playing catch up with the blog since I stopped the last one when we just arrived in Phnom Penh. I'm already starting to forget certain things so I think now is as good a time as any to continue. When the taxi dumped us near the river we looked at a hotel that we didn't like. Upon exiting the hotel as usual tuk tuk drivers starting harassing us for a ride. With no energy to refuse the persistent tuk tuk drivers, we decided to take a very cute looking one up on his offer to take us around looking for hotels for free (He gets a commission at certain hotels so it’s worth it for him). Mr. Sam Nong ended up being a great guy and ... read more

Hey everyone, We have about 20 minutes before we have to get going, so I'll make this quick and elaborate later. We're back in Bangkok and it's amazing how much at home we feel here now, especially compared to the overwhelming feeling the city gave us when we first arrived from Detroit. We have our Thai Cell again: (...) 66 57055512 So give us a call, it's free for us to receive calls! It's been 10 days or so since our last blog and I'm sure you were all aching to read the next one. Must have been horrible having to wait for so long. Well, here it is. We visited the Cuchi tunnels outside HCMC and that was cool. I crawled through a Vietcong tunnel for about 140 meters that was about 70 by 80 ... read more

Since our last real blog we've traveled the entire length of Vietnam, between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). We had heard before our trip that Veitnam is Beautiful, but we had never expected it to be so amazing. You all saw pictures of Halong Bay and that trip still remains one of the most enjoyable of the last month. We were extremely happy that we decided to fly to Nha Trang, because it saved us a binch of time and cost only slightly more than other forms of transportation. We only regret passing over Hoi An, the tailors village, where Elinor was looking forward to having a heep of clothes cutom made dirt cheap. there are tailors in almost every town and city here so we figured it would not be a huge loss ... read more

Hi everyone, We made it to Nha Trang and Elinor loves it here so much already that she doesn't want to leave. It's a little like we would imagine Hawai with beautiful beaches and some amazing beach restaurants/clubs. We are staying at the Blue Star Hotel: Phone number at the hotel is: 84 58826447 (Ask reception for Room # 202) We'll probably be in the room some time very late at night or very early in the morning. We won't be mad if you wake us up. Tomorrow will be a beach day and the day after we are going on a boat trip (island hopping). Pictures will follow. Keep up the comments, Love Yall Elinor and Ishai Dahd: Happy father's day. Sorry can't make it much more personal. You know I love you. You're as ... read more

Hi yall, We just got back to Hanoi from a 2 day 1 night boat trip to Halong Bay. Wow! What a beautiful place (see pics). The bus trip from Vientiane to Hanoi (24 hrs) was horrendous! We booked it from a very nice looking travel agency so we thought the service would be quite professional. Boy were we far off. First of all the bus was 1.5 hours late picking us up. Upon entering the bus we realized immediately that something was wrtong. The bus was jam packed with local people and baskets of fruit stacked to the ceiling the back of the bus. To add insult to injury the aircon bus that we were promised had nothing but a few tiny windows that allowed the steamy evening air and an army of hungry mosquitos ... read more

Hello Everyone, Just a very (very) quick message. We arrived in Hanoi after a crazy 24 hour bus trip that took us through the mountains of Laos and Vietnam. More about that later. Hanoi is pretty stinky. Later more about that too. We're staying at some hotel (guest house) where we can receive calls. I don't know when we will be in the room, but late at night is probably your best bet. Number is: (out of your country) 84 48284461. Room # 302 Everything is lovely (as all the brits like to say), Love yall Elinor and Ishai... read more

Hey everyone, We arrived yesterday in Vientiane and found a beautiful Guest House that's really cheap. The room includes breakfast and it has airco and a TV (pistons lost again - Booooooooooo). Today we went to the Vietnamese embassy to order our Visas. For some reason Elinor couldn't get hers from a travel agent because of her Israelidom. Anyways, when I gave the guy at the embassy the money for the visas he didn't give me the $10 change that I was supposed to get and I walked out without asking for it (Dumb!). $10 you might say that's peanuts, but that's 100600 Kip and two nice meals for us here. Well, I’m going to go back and see if I can get the money back later when the embassy opens at 2 pm. Once we ... read more

Hey yall, Just a quick update to let everyone know we are fine. We have been out of cell phone and internet range for the last few days because we were on the slow boat from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang, but we got a Laos sim card now and our new number is: (Code to get out of your country) 856 205893710 If anyone would like to help us test it today that would be great. First we had to get from Chiang Mai to Chiang Kong, which is right across the Mekong River from Huay Xai (Laos), so we decided to take the public bus for a change. It is much easier to just book your whole ticket from your guest house if they have a travel agent or just a local travel agent. ... read more
