Up Where We Belong
Up Where We Belong
Glynn and Jude take to the skies once more.
A mere matter of two and a half weeks ago we were arriving back in the UK after a year's worth of adventures abroad and yet here we are now, back on foreign shores and busy lapping up yet more history, culture and spectacular scenery. It´s good to be back! Our trip to the Black Forest in south-west Germany began with a very wet start to the day. We had intended to take the bus to Birmingham airport but it was chucking it down with rain and the prospect of gettng drenched on a 20-minute walk to the bus stop [View Full Entry]

Some people who return from a year's travelling are glad to make it home and settle back into the old routine. I think you might have noticed by now that we're not that type of people! So, when my father rang and suggested we go over to Germany to see him for a few days, all expenses paid, naturally we jumped at the chance. Glynn's only been to the Black Forest once and it was wintertime then so it will be great to show him around my birthplace in all its summery beauty. I'll be sure to keep you posted [View Full Entry]

Look, it's a birthday cake with Jish on it!
It's almost been a week since we arrived back in the UK and life has been ticking over quietly. On Monday, Glynn made up for my crappy birthday in Buenos Aires by conjouring up a fantastic birthday cake with a big picture of Jish on it! Later, we spent a happy few hours looking at all the parcels we sent home on our travels and I'm chuffed to say that my kimono from Japan fits like a dream :-) Reading our postcards from all around the world has also been entertaining although it's made us both wish we were still [View Full Entry]

Bread Brothers

So here we are again. And just to make us feel right at home, England cancelled the sunshine and turned on the rain for us. Well, it is a Bank Holiday weekend so I guess it was to be expected! Ours was a long and virtually sleepless journey to get back home but we couldn't have had a warmer welcome from Glynn's folks and his brother Lee at the bus depot in Birmingham. There's nothing like finishing a 2 day epic journey by stepping off a crowded bus, seeing some of your favourite people smiling up at you and pulling you [View Full Entry]

Holy round the world trip, Batman, it looks as if our time abroad has finally come to an end! I don't know about you but for us it feels like just a few weeks ago that we packed our bags and flew off to Japan on the first leg of our epic adventure. One year and 14 countries later, it's time to go back to England again. If it weren't for seeing friends and family, I guarantee there's no way you would get either of us near that plane today - we just want to keep on going. I guess we [View Full Entry]

Hola Chicos y Chicas. Welcome to the splendour that is Argentina's capital city. Welcome to Buenos Aires. After deciding to stay in Cordoba for an extra day (we got back from paragliding too late and too tired to pack), we made our way out of the city on the 9.30pm overnight bus and made it into Buenos Aires nice and early at 7am!.We had considered walking to the Subte (underground) with all our luggage and trying to get to our next (and last) hostel the cheap way but by the time we arrived at the bus terminal, we just didn't [View Full Entry]

No wonder it's a world class paragliding site!
What I'm about to tell you, you may not believe but it's 100% totally true. Today, Glynn and I literally threw ourselves off a cliff and what's more, we lived to tell the tale! The reason we came to Cordoba, other than to break the long journey to Buenos Aires, was to go paragliding. Yes, you heard me right - paragliding! Not the kind of sport you might expect someone who is afraid of heights to get excited about but when we heard that the paragliding in Cordoba is world class and affordable, we just couldn't resist. We booked via [View Full Entry]

Here we are in buzzing Cordoba, Argentina's second largest city. Getting here was a dream and the semi-cama Flecha Bus was so comfy, we all managed to get a decent amount of sleep on the way down from Salta. Well, everyone but me that is because I made the mistake of drinking a big bottle of Pepsi Max before we travelled so I was riding a caffeine high until well past 2am! When we arrived in Cordoba bus terminal, we parted company with Chet and Carly as we had all booked separate places to stay. We decided to walk to our [View Full Entry]

Is it me or are things just whizzing by at the moment? Perhaps it´s down to our recent illness and the fact that we´ve hardly felt up to doing much but suddenly here we are in Argentina with less than 2 weeks to go until we fly back to England. Yikes! Salta is a pleasant city and since Glynn is up and about again now, we´ve been for some nice long walks to see what the place is all about. In all honesty, nice as Salta is there´s nothing here that I would say defines it from any other large, modern [View Full Entry]
