Day 4 Solitude North America » United States » Utah » Alta
We went looking for some Solitude. The whole ski week has been great with no lift lines and a few sunny days. We decided to visit Solitude, which is located in Cottonwood Canyons, since I figured the resorts near Park City would be busy on a Saturday. Solitude is a smaller resort compared to the 3 resorts at Park City. It has a nice mix of terrain for all ski levels. I went on a few blacks with powder and did fall a few times. The falls weren’t bad, since the powder cushioned your fall and weren’t sliding down the trail. [View Full Entry]

Day 3 The Canyons Today Natalie and I split up for the day. I visited the Canyons and she went to visit Olympic Park. The Canyons received 10.5 inches of fresh powder. The visit to Canyons was memorable in the fact you took one gondola to reach the village, then another one to ski. The canyon offers the most terrain compared to the other two resorts. Natalie visited Olympic park and took a guided tour of the facility. She saw the bobsled, luge, skeleton track, and Nordic jumps. Later, in the evening we met up with my friend Ann and her [View Full Entry]

Day 2 Park City Resort No snow in the forecast today. The drive takes 30 to 45 minutes from Salt Lake City. Not a bad drive, if the weather cooperates. Today, we visited Park City resort and had high winds and white outs, while skiing. This caused delays at several of the lifts. It ended up being, so windy I had to purchase a neck gator at the top of the mountain. A few highlights of Park City was getting a tour of the mountain from a mountain host. The host takes you all over the mountain and provides a bit [View Full Entry]

Natalie and I arrived into Salt Lake City Tuesday evening. We stayed with my friend Ann at her apartment and she was gracious enough to let us borrow her car for the week. Unfortunately, we had an accident as, I was backing out of her garage. I did not realize how tight her garage was and hit the side mirror backing out of the garage. Already off to a great start we stopped at See n Ski for Natalie’s rental gear and discount lift tickets for the resorts. As, we drove up to Park City the snow was falling, which caused [View Full Entry]
