I woke as excited as a child before Christmas. It was still dark outside as I hauled myself and my eternal travel companion, the backpack, to the bus stop. I´m headed to a Jungle community in Ecuador. It´s remote and it feels like a true adventure. I have to catch the bus for 6 hours, then a canoe, then walk into the jungle. The bus drops me off at Puerto Rico, the rich port. We travelled and unravelled through Colombias Colonial towns. This is how towns should be, every house, building, park, church is sooo beautiful and so few cars, just people hanging out chatting, relaxing. Colombia really is COOL. And then we reached Bogota where we drank ALOT of coffee and it rained, hailed, blew cold wind. We went to a rock festival where they played death metal and there were a lot of disaffected youth wearing black MOSHING which involved human dodgem cars. Tayrona National Park - a little bit of heaven, except for the chickens, and the skull cracking falling coconuts.... and the horses who EAT everything, including the last three chapters of my murder thriller before I´d finished it!!! Oh and the mosquitos carrying dengue fever! So after my recent conversion to Vegohood, I found myself in a Govindas restaurant in Quito where a giant poster advertised a yoga eco lodge, featuring photos of bare chested young men drumming under waterfalls and requesting volunteers. Vrndivan is a planet you can go with a REALLY good KARMA ticket and there is Krsna God living with his Gopis (woman) and its all very beautiful and no one dies. Hey Groovers, Wayward Blogger D here catching up on all my news since i left Ambue Ari a million years ago. I arrived in La Paz disorientated to be in a big mountain city after swamping around for weeks in my lush jungle with mischevous beasties. On friends gushing reccomendations i stayed in Loki hostel which was beautiful, with comfy beds but definitely a party hostel. Cusco was like a random love affair. I was instantly attracted, to its beauty and decided to stay for a while. The buildings are colonial, the balconies are blue, the churches are intricate, the streets are built from huge smooth inca stones and the fountains flow between green flowery plazas. I have never been in such a pretty city.
