wow hello :) ,
I am Sudanese who was so happy about the way you painted my country in your words to your audience, amazing words . Thank you so much from bottom of my heart. You and your family and friends are welcomed in Sudan any time , it's your country too :) . Thank you so much for the visit , please do visit again .
interesting blog Being alone in office, I decided to check out your blog. Great to read some of your postings, thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of the world. And I have to give it to you, there is some occasional truely impressive wording: 'a wooden vessel seemingly held together by the prayers of everyone aboard' wow...
Ciao for you too... I must say I enjoyed your blogs that you wrote about your visit of Ethiopia. You are a real open minded adventurer and thank you for your kind words....
Have a blessed life..
magic Christoph!
This entry made me cry a bit! I was at my desk. Awkward!
Sounds just magical love, glad you're having the adventure you dreamed of.
xxxx
What an accurate description! That is the country whose current leaders are speding $730 million to purcharse war planes instead!
Cry indeed the beloved motherland.
Not a good look!! Not a photo I would like for the album. I thought my journey in Kenya in the back of a van was rough but you beat that hands down. I forgot to remind you about the state of the roads. Too late now! I hope it was all worth it. Mum
Hi Did Djibouti end of 2009, it was indeed amazing, and we were in Nov 2010 in Tofo....but make sure you can dive there also. What is better than seeing a whale shark...seeing a whaleshark while diving...happen to me twice, first time in the Philippines, second time in Thailand...but to be honest...they are way rarer while you dive! Peter
Catching up Just received your mum's Christmas letter telling me what you are doing so decided to read your blog. It sounds really interesting. I'll keep reading. Hope all goes well.

Well you'll have to but your own tea now or is it something stronger? Like the blog, some parts really make me laugh especially the meal menu of foul with everything!
bartering We you did learn something about nregotiating prices - 50 down to 40 and an extra person to boot!! Glad you are having a good time but no more adventures with crocodiles - you are indiana not dundee!
A man said to me 'Are you going to Sudan?' ...and I said 'Why, what's he been saying?'
da-dum tssssch!
There's a cheesy Leslie Nielsen style joke for you in honour of the great man passing on the other week.
Sounds like a great place, if a little dusty and heaty...
They aren't that bad Chris - the people who lived in the tenth century weren't evil. They were aeval ;)
And what IS it with bizarre people finding you attractive? First strange religous men, now old ladies?!
:) xx
"I thought the Indians loved them, but here it's an entire language of communication, and the soundtrack to the city." I couldn't have put it better myself!
A month-Really! Sounds like you're having a really adventurous time in Egypt-all those early mornings and hang overs! Not to mention the amazing sights of course. So the temples really are as huge as we're led to believe in the films on TV-glad to read that you've taken the Indiana Jones theme to heart(and the music!) and I hope that you'll continueto manage to get out any of tricky situations just like he always manages to. Maybe you'll get the girl as well if you can avoid all those middle aged Greek and American women-my advice is get up and stay out later! As you probably know it's very cold here at the moment-down to -10C so I'm envying your 'Winter in thesun' it should be interesting to see what happens at Christmas wherever you are then-presumably there's a lack of snow, evergreens and Reindeer in Etiopia or Sudan? Well here's hoping you get the ferry on the second attempt-it's probably too far to swim across even for an Indiana Jones Wanabee. But if you try, or fall off the boat, watch out for the crocodiles and snakes that always seem to crop up!
