Your latest update Glad you’re trying to keep up on the 2008 U.S. election campaign. Be glad you’re in India, trying to keep up with the U.S. campaign, instead of being here trying to keep up with what’s happening in India.
As we both know, most U.S. media seem to “tune out” on the rest of the world.
Glad to read that you’re able to practice your Japanese with your Toyota clients. Remember: “Ohio gozaimasu!” (Good morning!) “Konichiwa!” (Good afternoon.) “Konbonwah!” (Good evening) “Arigato!” (Thanks!) “Hajime mashite!” (Good to meet you) followed by “Dozo yoroshiu” (Please be nice to me.
I’m glad you’re finding it easy to make friends in India. Of course, you make friends easily anywhere!
Classes start here Sept. 2. Look forward to hearing more about your final days in India.
- Jim

HELLO FROM CHICAGO Rachel,
Hello from Chicago where I'm attending an educators' conference. I enjoyed your latest posting. I've always found India "overwhelming, but exciting, too." Enjoy the last six weeks of this life-enriching experience.
INDIAN PRESS CLUB Rachel,
Hope you make it to the Indian press club -- and that you enjoy it as much as you did in Tokyo. I like the photo of you trying on a sari.
More IU grads! Rachel,
I enjoy reading about your adventures. Glad you were able to celebrate the 4th of July.
I've always been amazed at the number of IU grads that I've met overseas.
So sorry that you've had to deal with another round of "Delhi Belly."
Good luck with your upcoming fashion show!
We're having more rain in Bloomington this week, too. This is the rainiest summer that I can ever remember. However, I've never seen it rain harder anywhere than in India and Thailand.

Elephant Can I believe what I am reading! Rachel Medina wants to ride an elephant. When we were younger I could barely get you to go on a bike ride with me! I'm so happy you are enjoying your trip/learning experience. I am so proud of you for the courage to go especially by yourself. I don't know if I could do all the curry alone :) Love MaRia
Taj Mahal! Hey Rach, I am sooo jealous. I have always wanted to see the Taj Mahal. It is an architectural jem! Please DO take some pics for me.
It sounds like things are going well and you've made some good connections. Keep yourself open to new experiences! Be wise, be safe, trust your gut and mostly have a good time!
Love the LB Medinas'
What an adventure! Rachel,
Your International PR classmates and I are enjoying following you on your adventures in India. You've certainly met a lot of people and experienced so much of the Indian culture in the short time that you've been there. I look forward to having you share your experience with students in next year's class.
