Italy week 1

First I must apoligize for barely updating the whole time I was in Italy. It was hard to find the time to post a proper blog plus the cost of internet and when I did have time and cheap internet I couldn't think of what to say.So now I'm back in Dublin. I arrived late last night check into my hostel at half past midnight and had a bit of a sleep in today. My flight from Rome to Dublin was

Still no proper update... I'll do that tomorrow. But I do have a few new pictures up. I skipped ahead a couple weeks and loaded up my hang gliding pictures from Interlaken. I was going to load up my others in order but I left my other memory card in my bag and since I had my hang gliding CD with me I just did those. So enjoy

Ouch

Rule 1 of traveling is to avoid sunburns on back shoulders chest and upper legs like deathFortunately I avoided the back and my shoulders for the most part but my chest all the way up to my shoulders and the front of my legs didn't managed to escape. There is a stripe going down the front of my legs from upper thigh to ankle which makes squatting and kneeling down pretty damn uncomfortabl

Today has been a hard day for me. I've been crying on and off half the day. In the past week I've been hearing about changes back home. Marco had a job interview in Atlanta the other day and they've offered him the job. I got an email from Meg letting me know that Marco is definitely taking the job and will fly out there to start working in 3 weeks. Meg is staying in Seattle until a few day

My days spent in Paris are blending together. I've just kind of had a lazy time here. Halfway into my trip and I think I needed a break so I took it really slow here. I like the city and I'm sure I'll be back someday. I'm about to leave for the train station to go to Bern Switzerland in just a little bit but I'll give a quick recall of some of my 10 days here. What I've done and seenSaw the

I didn't mention one thing in my last entry about the 6th because I was waiting to see what would happen. On my way back from Berlin to Utrecht I had to change trains in Druisburg Germany. I had about 30 mins to waste at the station so I found some food and then went to a small shop that sold fruit and juices and of course some soda. I grabbed a sprite went up to the counter where there was

I've made it to London in one piece.I haven't updated since Edinburgh on the 18th so I guess I'll give you a bit of a run through...Sat 19thI headed to Glasgow this day. Couldn't find a hostel the place isn't that great so I ended up staying less than 3 hours before going back to Edinburgh for a 4th night. I liked Edinburgh enough that I really didn't mind going back.Sun 20thI decided I'd t

Seperatist

European sinks are seperatist They have one spout for hot water and another for cold. How am I supposed to wash my hands with warm water Well I've figured out a way without burning myself. Collect some cold water in my cupped hands and then go to the hot water spout and top it off till it's warm... and repeat So I'm in Edinburgh now. Been here since about 3pm on Wednesday. The hostel I

I've just arrived in Cork about an hour ago... a day sooner than I planned. Let's start with Dublin first. After I arrived to the city center I found an internet and baggage storage place. From there I met up with a girl from California and wandered around for a while took pictures and had to chicken curry before I hopped on a train to Tralee. The train to Tralee stopped early and we all had t

Dublin

I've finally arrived.I got maybe 4 hours of sleep on the flight. When I sat down I had the middle row of 4 to myself. But then soon after takeoff some lady put her 8ish year old son to sleep in the 2 seats on the other end so I had to manage to get comfy ei. cramped in 2 seats to try to sleep. I was exhausted at that point from walking around NYC all day and I don't have anywhere to sleep

Anyone watch Biggest Loser Well I'm pretty dang sure I walked right past Bob the trainer on the sidewalk last night on my way to my hostel. Or at least the guy looked exactly like him. He was with a few other people and was quietly singing lol.It was sprinkling last night while I was walking to my hostel... that misty sprinkly... and I saw people with u

Hiccup

I'm in New York. My trip had a major hiccup from the start.Because of this hiccup I got switched to another airline on a later flight which made it impossible to catch my flight to Dublin. So my Dublin flight has been rescheduled for tomorrow Thurs night instead of tonight and I have a 24 hour layover here. I booked a hostel near Times Square where I'm at right now. I have most of the day t

Getting Nervous

I have 5 days left before I leave for Europe. I'm getting pretty nervous about it I'm starting to wonder if I can really do this... 12 weeks of living off of what I can fit in a backpack surrounded by strangers in unfamiliar cities and no friends or family nearby to hang out and talk too. Besides the daily call my mom will be making to my UK cell to check up on me a chance to hear a familia
