Yay, my plane didn't crash or run out of fuel or get hijacked or go bankrupt! So I guess this is going to be the last of the series of my European adventures. Don't run away yet though! I'm not even going to try to add photos. Just wait until Wednesday or Thursday. This will probably be my last update from Europe. Crazy! It's gone by so fast! Hmm... it's been a while since I posted. I think I've been having too much fun climbing mountains. This is mostly a short update to say "yes, I'm still alive." It's not that a lack of internet access has been preventing me from adding anything, but more that all my little time spent at computers has largely been devoted to finding another flight home. I have one booked now, still on the 17th and actually costing less than my original one. Yay! The only downside is that I won't visit quite as many countries since I'll be flying out of Germany instead of England now, but I'll live. I´ve been hiking again. That´s probably not shocking news. On Wednesday I took a bus from Trento up to a small Banff they call Madonna di Campiglio, 1500m above sea level in the Italian Dolomites. The town´s near the top of a broad pass, and mountains rise up on both sides, especially the east. Here is the Brenta Group of the Italian Dolomites, with massive towers and huge cliff faces that soar up close to a kilometre in places. Yay, photos! A whole bunch of them! Anyways. Monday made my head whirl. First there was a train ride to the Italy/Slovenia border, which was mostly interesting because of the weather. When I left the hostel it was cloudy and foggy and cold; 6 minutes of tunnel later it was blazing hot and sunny on the other side of the mountain without a cloud in sight. Let me start by saying that 3 days in the Julian Alps of Slovenia was not nearly enough.
