From Praha to Paradise

I was only in Boston for a day before I took off for the Bahamas. The weather in Prague had been pretty nice but the weather in Nassau was amazing It was in the high 70's and low 80's the whole time I was there. I was working for a spring break travel company which was a lot of fun except for a few isolated incidents involving high schoolers throwing up on me....but to be living in the Bahamas f

Praha....SEEE YAA

After 7 months I said good bye to Prague for the last time as I made my way back to the States. I was sad to leave especially because the weather has been AMAZING bright sun and flowers coming out already. It took me about 2 days total to get from Prague to Boston with a stop in London and a stop in New York City. I woke up in Boston this morning and it was snowing....welcome home....haha.Befo

What started as a daydream at work became a crazy reality last week.I started my trip with a visit to Dublin with some of my friends from Prague. A girl we met during our teaching course lives there now so we stayed with her for a couple nights. Then I took my oneway flight to Finland It seemed like a good idea at the time but as I was landing in Tampere I realized that having nothing planne

Please Don't Deport Me

I had a little trouble at the London Airport with my Passport so it looks like going back to the states in March is the right thing to do. The only problem with that is that I finally have a steady income and I can tell what people are saying at least pretend to when they talk to me. I had expected the weather in January and February to be cold and miserable but it has been really sunny and

I flew from Prague to London on Friday night got to Gatwick airport at midnight made it to my friendsrsquo house in Surrey by 1 and was on my way to a job interview in Cambridge the next morning at 7. Apparently it was Australia Day and apparently that is a popular holiday in London. Then I flew to Detroit had a

I finally put all those years of French class to good use this weekend.I took easyJet to Geneva from Praha for the weekend. For only about 60 for the roundtrip ticket I had to.I spoke a lot of French drank even more Orangina and loved every second.I knew Geneva was close to the mountains but I didn't realize how big they were. On the second day I was there the clouds cleared up and I had a

Winter in Praha

It is finally winter in Praha. We had our first big snowstorm on saturday night and we got about 3 inches at the most.Prague looked amazing with a fresh coat of snow but since all the sidewalks are made of stone they dont plow them...or do anything to them actually. So all day Saturday and Monday people were shuffling and sliding all over the place. Another example of the Czech way I gue

I met up with a friend from my TEFL course and some of his teacherfriends and I sampled some of THE BEST Czech beer I've had yet Svejani... i think it was called.I had to wake up pretty early in Brno on Friday to and take the tram to the center and then the bus from the

Mom just left this morning after taking Praha by stormI had expected her to come with no plans and I would therefore have to find some places to go. But boy was I wrong. She had bought at Fodor's guide to Prague and apparently she read it cover to cover because we left no restaurant uneatenat. It was nice to have her visit and it felt great to eat something other than pasta.

I spent Thanksgiving day teaching English at CSOB Bank...definitely not the same as sleeping in at home watching the parade on TV and going to Grandma's for dinner. I only had one lesson in the morning though which would have been fine except I went to bed at 330 the night before because we tried a new club which turned out to be more fun than we planned...but really who needs more than 3

It only took me a couple days to hate my teaching job so I decided to book a trip to Munich. I took the overnight bus from Prague so I got to Munich at about 6AM. I met up with my buddy from Saint Mike's Tom and his friend Dan and we took Munich by storm However we didn't do much sightseeing because it was so cold and rainysnowy. Our first day we decided to go to Haufbrauhaus for lunch.

After a couple weeks of the TEFL course I was ready to get out of Prague for a weekend and go somewhere new. One of the guys in my course was all about Vienna so I decided to tag along. It was a lot different travelling with an adult' because we actually got a nice pension and ate at restaurants compared to my typical trip where I sleep on an overnight bus and only eat food from grocery s

I was sent there to teach English at a camp for children on school holiday. I thought it would be a great chance to work on my Czech but turns out all the kids and all the people that work there only spoke Ger
