I am 18 years. I live on that green smudge in the between the Atlantic and the North Sea known as England, but my parent's trekked here from Zimbabwe. Literally, trekked, in an Ox Wagon. Anyway...I'ce just wrapped up school and am excited to finally be able to do what I've always been hardwired to do, travel! I have one year to cram as much in as I possibly can before my nose goes back to the grindstone for university (which means three possibly four years of no epically long trips) First stop Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia aaaaaaand the mother country South Africa. Then I have this crazy idea that I'll be able to get myself from my comfy seat in London to Beijing and back....without touching a plane.

Watch this space people.

So a very small part of me regrets not keeping up with my TB whilst away, a larger part of me however spent a lot of time being very rude about people who were obsessive over blog keeping. So now I find myself once again stuck at home alone and very bored, so I thought i'd give my brain some exercise and start typing up my blog...if anyone has any other ideas please send them to me! Anyway. I arrived in Botswana having spent the best part of three weeks in Zimbabwe, it will come as no suprise to anybody who has visited Zimbabwe of late that the first order of business was visiting a supermarket in Kasane, Botswanas version of a border town (albeit an hour from the border) I experienced a similair head spinning ... read more

I woke up this morning with a determined air about me "Today" I said to myself "Today I go to Zambia" anyway after breakfast/shower/water bottle topping up I was off trundling through town feeling the temperature gradually rise as I did so (I left at about 8:00 and it was already getting HOT) I arrived at the border and had my leaving Zimbabwe stamp by the bored looking immigration chap, I then walked the roughly 400 km's of "no mans land" between Zimbabwe and Zambia...."No Man's Land" HA it totally belongs to beggars and purveyors of crappy ornaments....Anyway me and several hundred Africans (I was the only white person in sight OH YEAH go me i'm a real traveler) eventually reached the Zambian border post where I used my lack of melatonin to jump the queue ... read more

Hello abyss, I have no idea how people manage to keep these things regularly updated with lots of pretty pictures and correct grammar etc etc.....seriously my internet access has been at best sporadic and when I do get it very slow! Anyway I am in Victoria Falls now so broadband is more readily available... Where to start....where to start.... Ok well I left Harare over a week ago, and after driving roughly 43 times up and down Seke road fnally found the campsite where I was to meet the truck. I met the truck. The next day we had a free day in Harare, this was spent in Eastgate shopping mall doing e-mails and eating, we then watched a movie (Crank....brilliant watch it) African cinemas are an interesting experience, for one they stink, for another they ... read more

"Hello friends, family and people who happened to have stumbled across these words of mine. Before I start don't get too excited I don't have access to the web these are e-mailed from outlook to home to be updated on my behalf! As I sit typing in my cousin's suburban Harare home my fingers are slipping off the keyboard, it's hot, but not as hot as it is going to be as i'm assured by all and sundry (this is accompanied by a smug "boy oh boy" smile) this sentiment is increased tenfold when I tell them I'll be in Vic Falls in two weeks "ag man but the humidity!" they cry. I'm not concerned, i've just stepped out of a 14 month winter in England and quite frankly i'm loving the heat (read: novelty factor ... read more
