Gypsy at heart, gypsy by nature. Currently based in Perth WA, work in the Pilbarra, currently between jobs. Love my 80's bikes, have two at the moment, 1986 Yamaha FJ1200 and 1980 Suzuki GS 850g. Currently in Toowoomba Qld, heading off for Perth on 27 Dec 2013. Plan is to make it in four days going through Goondiwindi, down the Newell Highway to Gilgandra, across to Broken Hill, down through Port Augusta and onto the Nullabour, across to Coolgardie and into Perth. Plan is to stop at Cobar NSW, Kimba SA, Caigunna Road House WA, and finally getting into Perth at the end of day 4. See how I go. Will be doing it on the Suzuki, so the plan is to do around the 1000 k's per day. It's and ambitious plan, but I intend to give it a good shake. After this trip I plan to work for a few months and prepare for the next trip. Love the concept of endurance riding, but also slower touring taking in the sights. So not sure what the next one will be. Stay tuned and see!. Thanks for dropping by and comment away if you so wish. If you see me or are in any of these areas I stop say Hi. I love a chat and meeting new people. Love a good story and an very partial to Scotch on the rocks! and if you add a guitar I might just sing a tune or two!! Peace and love. The Hoffmeister!!.

Ok.. Bike all loaded up except for water and my back pack with last things. Saddle bags on, swag on, tank bag on, two way radio working. Was hoping to be in bed by now!! But all things being equal am satisfied bike is well packed and safe. Dropped the oil today, had 10w-40 in it but after doing a test run around a few towns in the Toowoomba region engine came back a little rattly, oil was too thing due to heat, so 15w-50 in now, should handle the hot conditions much better. Still planning on heading off by 5 am in the morning, less than 6 hours! Still to shower, and a little excited, but hopefully will nod off quickly. Had great sleep and rest over the last couple of days so feel ok. ... read more
