| 29th September 2007 Aurélien | Hard trip - From: Odyssey in the Fan Mountains So journey in hell it seems. It was a long time I did not read your blog and what I find now : Traveller in troubles ;). Now you can say that you are a survivor. But the last words of your article are very interessant. It is true that sometimes hospitality can bring some difficulties. |
| 15th August 2007 Jeff | hey dude - From: Uzbekistan - Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent Hi dear friend, I never post comments here but I read your blog religiously (as religiously as my unbeliever genes allow me to). You are an inspiration and I hope our paths will meet again... hopefully in less than 3 years! Enjoy, and keep us posted... |
| 8th August 2007 Aurélien | hi - From: Uzbekistan - Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent And what happens next???? I wait the end of the story fast. Hehe. Perhaps with pictures of you dancing for wedding of other people. A good job I suppose in these far landscapes. (sorry my english is rusty this evening as usual in fact). |
| 7th August 2007 Jun | explore the unknow world - From: Uzbekistan - Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent Hi, dear Matthias, happy to see your new steps! there must be a lot of stories along your trip, would like to spend time to share them with you! Adopt by the grandmothers, sounds very interesting, hehe and what is the problem after the bath? hehe I think you can write a attractive book after your trip, just like the funder of LP, Toni and Maureen! hehe |
| 29th June 2007 Nina | it's very real isn't it :) - From: Karakalpakstan - in the shadow of a disappearing sea Hey! Well, as I read your adventures, it's really after your taste, isn't it? Real and rough! I'm happy for you and thanks for your post card :)! |
| 28th June 2007 ERNESTO | TOTALITARISM, TELL ME ABOUT IT!!! - From: Turkmenistan - An illusion in the desert VERY FUNNY, MAT, LET ME TELL YOU, AFTER ALL THIS, I CAN TELL YOU THAT CUBA IS NOT SO BAD... TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. SUERTE |
| 28th June 2007 aurélien | sad pictures - From: Karakalpakstan - in the shadow of a disappearing sea What a contrast between turkmenistan (and its incredible building dedicated to the glory of one man) and the aral sea (which seems very.... empty). I loved your picture in Turkmenistan clothes, very fun (like the beautiful pictures of the WC, you do not need to travel so far to see that, believe me). Perhaps I am wrong but you know, you seem "older" on the pictures. Travelling and discovering the world change people (in the good way). |
| 28th June 2007 aurélien | ashgabat's glory n°234 - From: Turkmenistan - An illusion in the desert Hi matthias, how are you. it is always a pleasure to read your adventures in the far far east of the world. I did not know how Tukmenistan looks like. (I thougth it was a beer brand). Now I can say I more smart than before. Do not stop your travel, to read you is like dreaming (without living his seat, like a couch potatoe). (Please, I bougth an american bomb on E-bay but the seller is in Irak, could you get back it to me,it is not far for you). Aurélien |
| 28th June 2007 anonymous | - From: Turkmenistan - An illusion in the desert Hi, dear Matthias, I had received your postcard from IRAN, that is Great! It is now standing on my dest, i saw it everyday, Thanks! Now, i will enjoy your pics from Turkmenistan, another window open for me! |

| 11th May 2007 Aurélien | Black sea - From: Karadeniz (Black Sea) coast You meet very strange people on your way. Very special this turkish guy... It is better to meet dolphin (they do not sell drugs at least). And the "fast and furious" episode was very funny. But when I read this, I think it is easier to hitchike only in switzerland. |
| 11th May 2007 marinaku | reasonable hitchhiking - From: Karadeniz (Black Sea) coast it's good u rest always intelligent hithchiking. trusting people to a certain limit. i should really learn it before doing long-distance trips. good luck :) |

| 21st April 2007 Grossemorue | Wonderful - From: Crossing the bridge It is a pleasure to read your adventure on internet. The time where we were at school seems so far now. But what an incredible travel you make. It is true, behind the boarders of our countries, there are a lot of interessant people to meet. I read that you get your Iran visa. Don't forget to give us some news about this part of your journey. I am sure we will learn a lot of things. HitchHike is really an interessant way of travelling. Soon I will try. First to go to the market, after to go to the railway station (perhaps it is too far?). Bye |
| 20th April 2007 ERNESTO | ABOUT TURKEY I AGREE 100% - From: Crossing the bridge YOU ARE RIGHT, MAT, DUE TO THE PROBLEMS WE ARE FACING TODAY, SOME PEOPLE TEND TO GENERALIZE AND THAT'S BAD. I WENT TO TURKEY LAST YEAR AND MET A LOT OF NICE PEOPLE, EVEN THE SELL PERSONS GIVE YOU TEA, EVEN WITHOUTH KNOWING IF YOU ARE A BUYER O YOU ARE NOT. (I DON'T KNOW IN GERMANY BUT IN USA, FORGET IT!!!!). I ALSO LOVE GREECE SO, WHAT CAN I SAY, FROM THIS PART OF THE ATLANTIC IT'S HARD TO COMMENT ABOUT THAT, GREECE IS ALSO ENCHANTING. EN FIN, ADIEAUX |
