Hotel in Montevideo
It is the Hotel Palacio and it's located in the historic centre at Bartolomé Mitre 1364. We paid USD$38 for a double room and they even gave us an extra bed for our daughter free of charge. No breakfast is included (as with many Montevideo hotels) but just down the road there are some nice cafes - try the one on Plaza de la Constitution, can't remember the name but its a big, very old fashioned cafe and they do a set breakfast with medialunas, coffee & OJ for a good price.

Hi Guys and 'gap tooth' Amy, What an adventure and facinating report. I have meant to catch up forages and just have not got around to it. The report and pictures are amazing - you should investigate selling them to a travel book site? Great that you are having such a fantastic adventure. Look after yourselves and see you in ??????????????? Andy I will provide a brief report on the 6 nations commencing Sat 6th Feb England Wales in Cardiff. Komodo Dragon
Happy Holidays and Greetings From Royal Ascot. All seems amazing. Not sure if this will be sent to you - however if so - The pictured Iguana - are they related to the Komodo Dragon? Only just recently saw a facinating programme on those beasts narated by Sir Richard Attenborough and they were incredible and are those crabs like the ones on Christmas Island? Sending lots of Love from across the ocean. Wref and Di x

Actaully I am not - I have a little envy but mostly a lot of respect for seeing someone take an unusual choice and make a dreama reality. I am delighted that you all are having such a fantastic experience. You are no doubt not missing England with its dark wintry weather and bogged down politics and economy, enjoy - Swiss Family Hewlettson!

Just looked at the blog for your first few days, looks like it's been pretty colourful! Here I am sitting at my desk working and looking forward to my week in Tuscany in September which seems pretty small beer compared to your big adventure! Enjoy, look forward to the next edition! Regards, Geoff
