KL rocks! seriously the best city in South East Asia in my humble opinion! The shopping is breath taking beats Singapore and Sydney hands down. Went to this one shopping centre called "Time Square" it has 10 massive floors, a cinema and a theme park with a rollercoaster in it! We were going to go onthe roller coaster but I thought it might be a bit too freaky looking down on cinema goers and stalls. We only made it to the fourth floor after like 10 hours of shopping. We decided to go to the cinema to rest the weary bones.Got to sit in the "Premier Class" area, which has big comfy seats and a waiter service all for 16 ringit ($4US). Just over 3 euros for those of you in Europe. That's what I call value. ... read more

... but my mind was there. caught the game elsewhere but I saw it at least. Off we went the following day to the Perhentian islands and boy are they like heaven we had bad weather for a day but then as if by divine intervention the next day it cleared. We went diving and saw beautiful things like turtles and sting rays. I also read the Da Vinci code in 3 days. Speed reader I am. Here are some photos of the beach and Joel looking very scared on the speed boat out to the island... read more

After an hour on the internet searching for live webcast of the Munster match. It came to me on the pier while we were waiting for or ferry back to mainland Thailand. “If I leave now I can fly from Koh Somui to Singapore then to London and on to Cardiff. Just in time for the match! Come on it’s raining here anyway. I’ll surprise my family and it’ll be great.” Joel looked at me for a second and thought, is she for real? I was off till Joel poured water on the fire and said even if you got to the UK you’d miss the match or be very tired. So I didn’t get a flight from Ko Samui and didn’t make it to Cardiff. Next dilemma was where in Norhthern Malaysia will they show ... read more

Well what a lovely way to arrive in Thailand got a flight and landed with in an hour I even ate the salmon for lunch. After all the other modes of transport we've experienced this was heaven. The immigration control only took 7 mins as opposed to the 2 hour stint we've grown accostomed to. Bangkok well what can I say they've got ATM's funny you may think but some countries don't have them!Stayed in the Khao San Road and to be honest we haven't left it. It was built for people like us. It has internet places, cheap accomodation, pubs and places to get your hair dreaded (made up a new verb) Don't worry mum I didn't do it! The only time we left was to go to the MBK shopping centre which is bigger ... read more

Well folks the main reason I'm doing this is not because I'm an egotistical b#^!h but because I feel I may email you all and you might think “Oh Clare there she goes again banging on about her travels and to be honest I don't give a ...” So if you are reading this you have to be interested 'cause you're here Yeah! Well I'm in Laos which is lovely and has been the most hygienic and “normal” so far. The people aren’t trying to sell you stuff 24/7 and they are a lot more relaxed. We’ve met a lovely Swedish couple so we have just been riding bikes around the city together lovely! The journey here tho was a complete ‘mare! Anyway we were staying in this fabbydoo hotel in Hoi An, Vietnam really posh, ... read more

Well we made it here after paying for some guys to fill in a form that was in English - ah communism don’t you just love it! Our guide into Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City depending on what side of the political equation you are on, decided to sing us some traditional songs in the mini bus in and that good old Vietnamese ditty “I’m all out of love”. On our first day we had a cyclo guy bring us round to all the hot spots such as the war museum which was excellent (gets you thinking about war - why, WHY!) and then he brought us to a temple and actually explained all the different things Apparently I’m going to have 8 kids and lots of money cause I rubbed the heads of these ... read more

Well Cambodia what can i say.. alot actually beautiful people after all they have been through but still effectively a third world country. They haven't actually heard of bins. the street is the local tip and with the heat you can imagine the aromas. When we arrived there were lots of people covered in white dust (working in the mines I hear you say) I thought the same but actually it was Khmer new year and it is tradition to run up to people and put talc on other peoples faces, which I learnt the hard way. All in good fun. The driving is crazy over here no traffic lights, road markings or mirrors on bikes. It's just bedlam. You fear for your life when you're tuk-tuk driver is crossing the road. When we asked do you have ... read more
