The Night Sky
Hi Nomads, A thought occurred to me last night when I was watching a program called "The Sky at Night" presented by Sir Patrick Moore. One of the astronomers talked about the "Southern Cross" and that is when it dawned on me. If you guys are in the middle of nowhere and it is so dark you can't see your hand in front of your face, take a look skywards and you will see billions of stars not normally seen because of city light polution. I have done this on the Isle of Coll when we have been there and there has been no moon in the sky. Have fun - John

What happened to day 1?
Well hello grey nomads, Some questions - What happened to the blog for day 1? Did you delete it? I presume the "Grey Nomads" is because of your age? Why would you get fined for taking fruit into Broken Hill? Sounds like something our crazy polititians would think of lol. I need some background for your trip. I'm thinking it is going to take a while but you must have some idea how long you are going to be away for. Have you any idea where you are going to or is it - "Lets turn left here and see where we end up?" Are you travelling by car or it it one of those houses on wheels things like a Winniebago and I have no idea who she is, I have heard of Minnie Mandela but WinnieBago is new to me rofl. I was going to pull you up about the lack of pictures but you say you are going to upload some tomorrow - good :-) I am looking forward to reading your blog everyday as I get it sent automatically to my email. By the time you read this it will be past Rodgers Birthday but Happy Birthday anyway Rodger. Keep having fun - John
